does anyone know how to saves these animated skeletons, they're actually pretty fucking cool
And here's a dancing pizza to cap it off.
If you want more, you'll have to look in the game files for them. They're not encrypted but you'll have to make the gifs yourself.
PIZZA DANCE ISN'T COOL ANYMORE
IF YOU LIKE PIZZA DANCE YOU ARE PROBABLY STILL 10 YEARS OLD
GET BENT B**** PIZZA DANCE IS THE FUNNIEST THING IN THE WORLD I BWL EVERY TIME I SEE IT

What do you guys the new 2000 Update will bring?
I keep hearing that it's supposed to be a real blast
>(((Merchant)))soft
Can anyone give me an FLST password?
>coolpunk
Embarrassing, man.
You know, I've always has the idea of making a game like Space Funeral but have the visuals look inline to 90s styled crusty pre-rendered dos sprites and old crusty 3d gifs like back in the day and in Hypnospace.
I wonder how difficult it must be to make sprites in that style.
Regardless, I've been following Hypnospace for a while and I'm glad it took off.

everything after the Y2K update was rushed and forced and the game should never have gone into archival mode because that shit took away the best hook the game had
i thought enforcers couldn't use chitchat bwl
Shut the fuck up, Tim
>tfw i accidentally sequence broke and reported the mod way too early while fucking around with flst
>tfw i solved the MINDHACC shit in y2k way too fast so the game went into archival mode after only like 3 hours of play
Reported for harassment
I think the archiveal project was an inevitable plot point in a game like this just for the sake of completionism. Making it part of the plot rather than an post game bonus mode was perhaps a mistake however.
>playing satanic games
fucking get me off Open Eyed you piece of shit mods I want to be in Goodtime
Hopefully the upcoming updates will flesh out the early parts more.

>No Sacred Space in the OST
C'mon Jay.
The one problem I have with the game is the ending where Dylan comes clean and confesses after you nail him. There's no way a shitlord tech bro like DM would ever, EVER feel remorse over anything he's ever done. I honestly thought when I downloaded outlaw 1.0 that it was his last ditch attempt to kill you by making the headset explode and I was legitimately surprised when that wasn't what happened at all.
>There's no way a shitlord tech bro like DM would ever, EVER feel remorse over anything he's ever done
I think after 20 years the guilt finally started to build up on him
youtu.be
Fun Fact: Eulogy and the Credits theme are actually a cover of a song from a 2015 free Christmas Album.
sambillen.bandcamp.com
But that'll require a full second playthrough, wich is fucking retarded. Like said, archival mode should've been a bonus postgame thing instead of part of the plot, especially considering how boring the ending is.
It has been 19 years, and I think a remorseful end fits more than a crazy scene straight out of Hackers.
Has anyone found out how to save at least two of the five people from dying? Also: is it even possible to 100% the archive?
Would also have been cool if the archive autoarchived pages that do not change between the three chapters. It gets really tedious visiting each version of a site only to see that nothing changes.
>Would also have been cool if the archive autoarchived pages that do not change between the three chapters
Prehaps that's gonna be part of the April Update
I thought the Archival Mode made sense as part of the plot, especially how you use it to solve the final puzzles by accessing sites at times you weren't able to before.
>I honestly thought when I downloaded outlaw 1.0
I thought the same thing, and I was unbelievably disappointed when it turned out to not be the case because that could've been the perfect setup for a good gag. Seriously, the entire back half of the game feels like they realized they didn't have enough content so they put in the "You report Dylan and get fucked over for three months" thing just to skip straight to what they had planned for an ending. They should've just kept making small, increasingly stupid excuses for you to leave for a couple days and for the all of Hypnospace to turn to increasingly comedic anarchy in your absence.
>the entire back half of the game feels like they realized they didn't have enough content
Do you think that might have been because of the removal of all the Hypnospace Highway stuff promised in the kickstarter?
I found it weird that the game has a semi-hidden reference in the Freelands to Jack King Spooner of all people.
I wasn't even aware the game had a kickstarter until after I beat it, and if that was supposed to be a major portion of the game's content then that's probably why.
I think traveling around like that would have gotten old really quickly.
Well it was removely fairly early after the end of the kickstarter.
jay-tholen.itch.io
You can get two of them banned, I think, if you make sure to get them flagged twice on day one and two. You can't save the old lady or Tiff. I'm pretty sure Tim actually did end up killing Tiff, since she has epilepsy and his y2k meltdown thing had a ton of flashing images. That + the beefbrain means she was probably dead before you even logged on
Wasn't Beefbrain just a joke?
yeah but the headset fucking you up pretty hard wasn't. Her being in a shitty physical state + the images was probably enough to set her off and that was that
It would be cool if you could string together custom levels to create new cases.
The most disappointing thing was that there's not even an actual epilogue after the credits. You just get the dumb text files and that's that.
So what you saying is it let you DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN
>NitroRad is doing a Hypnospace video
Cool
the fuck kinda thread did I go into
We're posting about Hypnospace Outlaw, a game where you explore the Internet in an alternate history 1999
No.
I think the hypnospace highway was good conceptually, but not great in practice.
Devs made the right call, not to expand it too much.
you gotta drink it up
Can't wait for the steam workshop update when we can make our own hyperspace pages
I kinda hope they also make an actual hit hat client in-game and maybe have an actual in game network that let's up look at user generated content that's been uploaded
Bug that wipes out your page completion percentage if you do the credits sequence put me in a bad mood but it was an interesting game. I wish it had more mid game content and other violations to track down.
>I wish it had more mid game content
An update's coming in April which will add in some content cut from the launch version.
It would be cool to have stuff like a "random user site" button.
who /chowderman/ here?
someone has to teach these zoomers real music
Game of the Month. They just gotta fix those archival and submarine bugs.

If the devs are shilling here we need a sticker manager because I want to keep them all without having them clog my download manager
Man, I was really hoping the ending wasn't going to be as depressing as Dropsy's. Ah well, I'm still glad I backed the Kickstarter even if the game left me feeling like shit at the end.
>when you notice how much they use the motif of this song throughout the whole game
How many songs is it in?
I've noticed it in the bootup song and between time periods.
>not the jazz track that plays on the professional music critic's page
>tfw you see the list after the timeskip
Man that was a gut punch.
>cool kid vs fat kid
who was in wrong here?
Both of them, they're both dumbasses trying to look cool on the internet. Zane is at least clueless about what a retard he is, Corey pretends to be sorry but continues to be a shithead, just out of sight of the enforcers in chitchat.
Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing had significantly less versions in the Hypnospace timeline than in reality.
That song about shaving in the freelands drove me fucking nuts, I know I can turn off autoplay but the rest was pretty good.
Zane wouldn't have died if he wasn't the one in the wrong.
>Both have "girlfriends"
>Both have the same headband ID as their "boyfriend"
>Corey comes clean, Zane maintains the lie
I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be annoying and they expect you to turn on something else in the music player. They go out of their way to acknowledge how stupid the song is and how annoying most people find it in the same area where it'll be playing non-stop for 20 minutes or so.
>Corey tries to passive aggressively guilt trip a chick into being his girlfriend
>Zane just acts like a retarded horny teenager
They both suck
Well they failed, since it's absolute rock kino. Memes aside I really do like it, it's more annoying because it keeps restarting every time you visit a page and go back.
I don't what this is so this entire thread feels like a fever dream.
dude it's so deep you just don't get it lmao
i love it ironically
Have some hot butter ice cream, user
It's a game about being a janny for the 1999 internet, but with headbands that connect your dreams to the internet.

How long until someone makes a Yea Forums page?
Aud2hsm, subtle.
There's already a secret hacker board that feels like Yea Forums, though with usernames and passwords. Their "Hacks" are more just harmless pranks and piracy, mind.

So, this is a genre now, I guess?
It used to be just Her Story, and now this?
How many games, before "searchbar" gets a proper genre name?
The searchbar stuff doesn't really feel like Her Story until the post-game archive section
Not saying the games are alike.
Just, mechanically similar.
Are there any other games even close to these, in terms of raw gameplay/function?
Her Story 2

Austin Powers: Welcome to My Underground Lair!
lol
Kingsway is an RPG played through a fake OS.
There's also "Everything is going to be OK" but that's an interactive zine rather than a regular game.
I see these guys piggybacking that Hypnospace wave everywhere.
I guess if I was really into those old LucasArts Indiana Jones/Star Wars adventure games, this would be my jam.
There's a big difference in its comparison to Hypno, though. This captures interface, but it has none of the culture.
Also, I don't think this is a searchbar game?
Do you ever searchbar?
>I see these guys piggybacking that Hypnospace wave everywhere.
This came out 2 years before Hypnospace but it's possible they were inspired by the kickstarter.
Nah, nah.
Not saying copycat or anything.
Just pointing out that I see this thing pop up everywhere Hypnospace is mentioned.
Probably because it's based around a fake OS but while Hypnospace tries to replicate a retro OS Kingsway instead turns it into a whole different idea.
>Hypnospace tries to replicate a retro OS
More than Kingsway?
Bruh, that screen literally looks like Win95.
Hypno's way more alt-retro than repli-retro.
I meant more in functionality and purpose rather than appearance.
Hypnospace is actually replicating the functions of an old os, Kingsway replicates the look but does it's own somewhat similar thing mechanically speaking.
Does it have any searchbar gameplay?
It's been a while since any game gave me the kind of dread this game did when I reported Dylan
Not really.
It's a regular RPG but done through programs on a fake OS.
So, standard RPG with weird menus.
Not relevant to the ask for searchbar games.
K
It's still relevant as a comparison since it uses a fake operating system as the menus.
Would you rather I talked about "Everything is going to be OK"?
Does it have searchbar gameplay?
You search around for stuff, so I suppose so.
DO YOU TYPE INTO A SEARCHBAR AS A CORE GAME MECHANIC?
YES or NO?
I haven't played it so I'm not completely sure.
It's free so if you care so much download it and see.
