No.

Yes

It's boring as fuck and has mediocre gameplay.

is this the beginning of the Great Shilling of 2019 before the TLOU2 release date?

No. Its a good game, but shouldn't be in anyone's Top 10. You need to play more games.

yeep

I will only admit it was great because they only ruin sequels to great original games. like how they ruined Star Wars. and TLOU2 is a SJW wet dream. inb4 have sex.. inb4 incel. inb4 /pol/

IF you have kids some of the story elements will get you in the heart strings, if not you might as well not give a fuck about this game. Game play isn't anything special, just generic third person tier bull shit.

...

Game that virgins will never understand

Dude you had to shake the fucking controller to get the in game flashlight to keep working. how much more immersion do you fucking want?

Attached: 1408505395799.jpg (328x331, 12K)

Shake the controller on your dick to fuck the bullet holes in your daughter would of been fucking next level shit.

pretty sure thats an actual ps vita game but it's only in japanese

Attached: 1552149942242.jpg (885x653, 67K)

dont play metro exodus. 75% of the game is unskippable cut scenes. and as we all know any game with any cutscene that does plot or character development is a movie. If I wanted to care about the background story I'd read the fucking novel amirite?

All mad PFFT AAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Well if your ratio of movie is higher than gameplay, is the game really the focus anymore?

Just like with God of War, Bloodborne and Horizon, I just couldn't get into TLOU because it's way too much of a cinematic movie.

It's been a week since i bought my PS4 and the console is just incredible, genuinely. Games are playable almost immediately after inserting into the PS4, i can buy games with my debit card - i've been suggesting this feature for years to Xbox and Xbox support but it's still not available. I bought God of War with my card, with one click.

But the games... the fucking games. Uncharted 4 was my first PS4 game and the game is just.. beautiful, an incredible experience.

But the real masterpiece i've played so far is The Last of Us.. wow.. just wow. This game is fucking incredible.

Currently playing Spiderman and God of War and God of War is on another fucking level - Kratos vs The Stranger was MINDBLOWING! Spiderman is also amazing.

I knew the PS4 exclusives were good, but THIS good ? I never knew. Sony really spoiled their fanbase with these insane exclusives and after owning a PS4 for only a week it became very clear why they were the leader of this generation. Great console with incredibilis games.

>mass replying

its one of the worst games ive bought in recent memory
like holy fuck is the gameplay bad
put it into my system a few months ago, played for an hour or two, took it out of my system, and put it back into the case. it has not moved since

I don't believe you.

no, but I sat through the cutscences and then when I played the game I actually cared why I was shooting shit or finding items. I can see why other people just want to mindless just hit start and shoot shit for no reason. I mean I wouldn't replay the game because a can't skip the cut scenes. but people that say Sony games are movies because they have more then 30 seconds of cut scenes that develop the plot or give context, well they should just play tetris or serious sam. I assume every sony games are movies are ass hurt poorfags that cant afford to buy a ps4 to play sony exclusives.

do you want me to take a picture of the game case or something? im not going to be trying to play that dumpster fire of a game anytime soon. i was really disappointed because the setting it laid out seemed cool

Only good thing is sarah

not the other person that replied but I also dont' believe you but I would if you told me what are like the last 1-2 games you played that you enjoyed. just for some perspective.

Haven't actually played it myself but could you elaborate why ?
I've seen a few footage, gameplay looks pretty subpar to me.

Attached: tenor.gif (220x207, 202K)

Good you could starting help out with my dick it's not gonna suck itself!

you bring up that question and I'm having to really take a second to remember a game that really made me enjoy it
on that note I'm realizing that I need to think of a game that I actually enjoyed instead of one that I played just to pass the time. its been a long time since I've truly enjoyed something.

they aren't the most recent games I've played but I enjoyed fallout 3 goty and risk of rain
also been playing some rimworld lately if that helps

killed off the only character I gave a shit about in the first 15 minutes. leave me with 20 hrs with a closest lesbian. Only finish the game hoping that sarah will come back.

>2019
>Still not on steam
That makes me upset.

forgot to mention that i also really enjoyed elder scrolls oblivion goty

he's getting desperate

ok todd. but seriously if you hate vidya why are you on Yea Forums fallout series is as cookie cutter AAA as you can get I would think TLOU would be right down your ally. it's weird cause New Vegas is a game I still play and TLOU I enjoyed, sure it had a slow start but I had to finish it.

tell me about all of those xbox exclu-
oh wait...

it really doesn't deserve a lot of the criticism
most of it stems from playing the game like 7 times to nitpick story bits or whatever
it's a servicable fun game, and playing through it again on hard is a decent challenge, but playing on the highest difficulty is absurdly fun

when the game removes literally every hud element+moves many item spawns around/removes tons it's so absurdly fun to get through encounters by the skin of your teeth and beat a fucker down

i still love brick takedowns in melee

Attached: 1552647416115.jpg (682x1442, 330K)

yeah user i thought it would be right down my alley too but christ i cant stand the gameplay
i dont solely play AAA games if thats what you were getting at

pic and timestamp pls

for

I almost bought this today, but decided to wait for a sale on it. TLoU2 looks pretty good so i wanted to catch up. Whats something comparable? From what i gather its a 3rd person game with stealth elements?

>best of ALL time

Only because of its multiplayer

you should be able to get it for 9 bucks on ebay. uncharted would be another comparable series.

The worst era of gaming was six years ago when shit like this, telltale garbo and Bioshock were heralded as the saviors of gaming. Each one had a story that any film or lit critic would see as cliche and them being games brought nothing new to the table. I'm glad even braindead normies have realized how shit these games are and I hope the sequel will flop.

I was talking more about Infinite, Bioshock 1 was just ok/10. Forgot to mention Gone Homo and Undertale.

That's THE POIIIIIINT

It's hardly even a game.

undertale is a piss poor excuse for a video game

Bitch Bane
Kys

Multiplayer is way underrated and I hope it’s just as good in the next one or else I won’t buy as I’m not keen on playing a lesbian jew simulator.

Most overrated trash game of all time. Boring characters/world/gameplay.

give me your your paypal or dash I'll send you enough to buy a ps3/4 so you can play the game. I honestly feel bad.

>I’m not keen on playing a lesbian jew simulator.
you may be living in the entirely wrong time period

Cutscenes are excusable but there is no justification for forced walky talky sections.

>greatest achievement in video GAMES
>posts cutscene movies

Played it four times since it came out. Not as insufferable as I remember, but too goddamn easy and linear. It's a good B-movie.

Why are the Last of Us/GoW called movie games again?
>muh cutscenes!
Most of the cutscenes are short. Meanwhile
>Yakuza
>MGS2
>FFX
>KH2 and KH3
>Xenogears
>Xenosaga
>Xenoblade 2
>Catherine
>Bayonetta
>Asura’s Wrath
Have more cutscenes, roughly the same amount of cutscenes, or cutscenes that drag. Most JRPGs have “attacks” where you are watching an extensive cutscene (Supernova from FF7, most modern turn based JRPGs, KH3). HL2 has moments where you stand still and listen to someone talking, games like the Tales series have "skits" and long sequences where characters stand and talk, "visual novel-like games" (Persona 3+, Ghost Trick, Hotel Dusk, AA, MGQ Planescape Torment) have long stretches of dialogue that are virtually cutscenes
>b-but muh walking! Muh barrels!
Witcher 3 has tons of walking
Dragon’s Dogma has tons of walking
Morrowind has tons of walking (at a snail’s pace)
GTA/RDR have tons of walking, driving, and horseback riding
NMH has tons of walking + dull tasks like picking up trash to make enough money to pay the entry fee
Super Mario Odyssey has tons of walking + dull tasks like kicking rocks and ground pounding random spots to get moons required to beat the game
OOT has a ton of walking (at a snail’s pace, so slow players will roll to their next destination) as well as most 3D Zeldas
NV has tons of walking, as well as most WRPGs with a travel system or an open-world setup (Fallout 1/2, Wiz 8, Arcanum)
MGSV has tons of walking, all MGS games have walking + backtracking, MGS3 has sequence where you just climb a ladder
Any adventure game will have tons of walking (King's Quest, Police Quest, Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, etc)
Mount & Blade has tons of walking
Ico has tons of walking
Shadow of the Colossus has tons of horseback riding
Shenmue has tons of walking, Shenmue 2 has a literal hiking sequence
Most of the games above also have tons of backtracking because of how open world games work. Muh walking is not an argument.

It's perfect WITHOUT the DLC. Which the DLC it becomes a leftist propaganda game.

The only "propaganda" in the DLC was that one small kiss at the end. It's not like it was all a Lesbian Simulator.

*Blocks ur path*

Druckmann, you're small time.

They turned her into a goddamn interracial carpet muncher, my dude.

lmao

Right wingers get triggered by literally anything gay happening.

...

But the DLC still didn't ruin anything, only the sequel seems to be taking the wrong direction.

Agreeing with propaganda does not mean it's not propaganda.

I borrowed it from a friend to try it out. Couldn't even bring myself to finish it. Thank god I didn't give the devs even a dollar for making this derivative garbage.

They're all fun. TLOU is not.

The combat is very good on harder difficulty but i felt like there wasn't enough of it. Winter is the only consistently great part of the game.

derivative of what? sorry john milton I know you are finishing the next seminal novel of our time but do you realize that most people 13-28 the market audience for vidya when TLOU was released never read a book beyond the 5th grade? if anything the fact that it actually told a story beyond just shooting bad guys in the face turned moronic NEETS onto reading more and getting more into learning about the works I assume you are referring to as derivative. Not everyone is a rhodes scholar. TLOU is as close to a literary video game as you can get. compare it to what 95% of zoomers play: COD or overwatch or fortnite. I wonder which games you play and enjoy that are not "derivative."

>TLOU is as close to a literary video game as you can get.

Please post more, this is hilarious.

Attached: 1447832575619.png (290x286, 43K)

nice dodge. so no answer. so I guess you play CS:GO and speed run Mario and think undertale is a magnum opus.

I liked it a lot, but I probably wouldn't go as far as calling it a masterpiece.

What was leftist about it?

zoomer please
Your movie "game" unfortunately belongs in the interactive medium so whatever it achieves in the non-interactive cutscenes (which is nothing by the way) means fuck all to the medium.

You got me thinking user, I'm going to review this game. You inspired me. I didn't know this many people still harbored delusions about this shitty game and it's story.I thought it went through a reevaluation period where people realized it was shit like Bioshock: Infinite. I'mma do it. I won't say where just know that the shit coming.

Attached: 1450544050815.jpg (1700x1615, 1.03M)

I've tried it on my PS4. The beginning was amazing and by that I mean being the little girl and walking around in the house. Then I was the dude and had to walk amongst car wrecks in some dirty ass place with a gas mask on. That sucked and the graphics looked bad and I don't even think you could jump. I don't recall but it wasn't fun and the amazing master piece everyone has told me about. I think I got memed into it.

>Mother 3
>-
what did they mean by that? It is a GBA title.

ok so you are a weeb fag. that's fine. i respect that. at least you aren't a literally child that plays Nintendo or bottle royale games.

Not him, but does that mean dialogue is completely irrelevant in movies?

he's discounting the connotation that any video game can be literary because it is interactive. which is bizarre because most people find enjoyment from narrative fiction from imagining the characters in their minds. but he's intellectually bankrupt and thinks JPRGs are art so I wouldn't bother arguing the point further.

>derivative of what?
Off the top of my head:-

The Road by Cormac McCarthy
The Walking Dead
I Am Alive

Attached: 0027058.jpg (1920x1079, 655K)

couldn't play the first bioshock. the beginning with the music and the shlock it was dreadful. polar opposite of TLOU. I would imagine bioshock infinte (which is like the 4th game in the series?) would be regurgitated garbage riding on the success of the original game. TLOU did ride on the coat tails of the whole zombie shtick "the walking dead" popularity. but it still tells an original story and in a unique way (for video games at least). I remember staying up for 2 days to finish the game in one run, not because I was grinding for loot or going for a high score but because I wanted to know what happened and I felt like I was part of the story. I mean it's a great game, in it's genre. it's not a shoot em up, it's not a platformer. it's a narrative third person adventure game, and in that category it's a "masterpiece"

Man RE4 is so much better than The Last of Us, TLOU is overrated AF

so it successfully transferred a great novel and a tv series into a video game? ok then yes its derivative. by that definition everything is derivative. "Good artists copy but great artists steal"

>it's a narrative third person adventure game, and in that category it's a "masterpiece"

Plz stahp dude I'm literally busting a guy right now.

Attached: SH2.jpg (1019x679, 174K)

based

ok go play xenogears and tell me how final fantasy XII is the 21st century's shakespeare. I don't hate on different genres. like weebs like that loli anime shit. hardcore people like dark souls, kids love pubg and fortnite. but if you want a great narrative third person game I can't think of a better one than TLOU. yea it's based on dystopia and zombies but any game is going to have some setting and then we can name 15 novels and tv series that have done it before. but i dont see that as a criticism.

No but i don't think pure dialogue elevates movies to a higher standard or something as movies are primarily a visual medium.
I think cutscenes have a place in vidya, when people say shit like "The Last of Us is the citizen kane of video games" when they are purely talking about the cutscenes i think that is needless chest pumping. Citizen Kane takes advantage of the unique aspect of film, it does something interesting with frames, shadows and other things visual. The Last of Us does nothing like that for its medium if anything it dumbs down the interactivity.

someone explain to me why the last of us is bad.

I think I see your point. that something has to be brand new and "first" and novel. that's what children think. most great art is remakes of previous traditional stories. romeo and juliet becomes west side story. the illiad has be retodl 1,000 times. star wars is based on multiple fairy tales and folklore. as was LOTR. bring the 1st to do something doesnt make something great. that's a very simplistic view, but I understand it. you can make a piece of art within the given medium without reinventing the entire medium, just making a great piece of art for what it is. I guess you were disappointed that TLOU didnt't create something beyond VR or 3d. It's just a great game given the limitations of the genre, the time period, the hardware and the audience. It's just an objective fact based on awards, sales and anecdotes. If you want to go on your blog and explain to humanity why if a game doesn't reinvent the wheel means it's shit go right ahead.

I hate zombie games where you end up killing more regular living people than zombies.

to make the worse, the regular people encounter are the worse part of the game gameplay wise compared to the zombie encounter

I'll throw you a bone to try and bring you out of that plebeian mindset. Here's a narrative third person game with zombies as well as gameplay to back it all up that came out just a couple of months ago. Give it a shot.

Attached: Resident Evil 2.jpg (796x448, 64K)

>3 hour long game

>Six years after launch
what the fuck

I think you have confused me for someone else. I am not that other user, i don't care if the last of us is a derivative of someone else's work. What gets on my nerves is when i see people saying it's some sort of a milestone for video games. It's not me bringing up the topic of reinvention of the entire medium it's the fans.
Awards, sales and anecdotes are not an objective measurement of the quality of a video game, in fact there's very little objective here cause this is an inherently subjective topic but you have to make your case and defend your stances through sound arguments.

It's cool that people like different things.
I found it to be nothing more than a 7/10 game, no where near one of the best games of all time.

>of ALL time
I wouldn't go that far but it's the best I played on ps4, more entertaining than GoW and uncharted4

I played it on YouTube once. It was fine.

Attached: 1529081770557.png (1264x1064, 750K)

Hahahahahahahahaha! No

No, you just don't get it man, people are the real monsters and stuff.

If you never read a book, played a game or watch a movie with an interesting plot and relateable characters that stuck with you then sure, TLOU may seem decent.

This trash was only good for the loli porn

we know your shitposting sensei

If the game would only let me make the decision at the end then yeah it could have been good

Still more fun than tlou and has a better story, also post your times so we can see your 3 hour run

Think of it this way. Let's say there's a movie that is just powerpoint slides of the pages of a book. The book itself might have been great but would you call that a great movie?

I love TLOU and RE2. They are both fun

Attached: 1552603367683.webm (1024x576, 2.69M)

>it's more fun and it's better
dang that's pretty convincing

I feel like movie games belong on netflix instead of consoles. Sony is killing the gaming industry with shitty movie games

you just blindly hate them

There are a ton of good reasons to dislike sony, it's not blindly hating something

The gameplay in the Last of Us is crucial to the story though, which is chiefly about the relationship of Joel and Ellie. As Joel grows to trust Ellie more, she develops greater agency during the gameplay sections. Joel getting injured and Ellie being forced to rely on herself during Winter is made all the more powerful, as it is one of the few large chunks where you play without a companion.

It is not a game.

not even close, it's still a decent game though.

It is if you can't separate the games themselves from their publisher. Every game should be judged individually on its own merits

Even though god of war literally is a copy of the last of us? I mean, it uses the same damn code as tlou. When is sony going to publish an actual game for once?

yes, even though you think X game looks similar to Y game to you, you should still judge each game on their own merits instead of blindly assuming they're all the exact same thing

Alright and based on my own experience and opinions, I think both are dogshit

I finished the game for the first time recently on grounded.

It's incredibly overrated.

2deep5me

I love Tlou so much
It's one of my favorites, I've played it many times

Deus Ex

That's a shame dude, those are great games

Amazing, how can one game trigger this game so much?

kek fucking zoomers and their kino walking sims

>it really doesn't deserve a lot of the criticism
>it's a servicable fun game
so not the 10/10 amazing experience it's talked about as? and it must surely deserve the criticism if it's just serviceable?

Shit gameplay, interactive movie, like all Sony ips

Not sure as one of the best of all time but it's at least very good. This board can bitch all it wants but it has great gameplay.
