Every time I've been to an FE thread, I've always come to the conclusion that FE fans hate every game in the series.

Any actual Strategy games with a character / story focus like FE?

It's always been a bit RPG-ish, but nu-FE made it so much worse. Just pair two units up send them in solo and go to sleep, your big pile of stats means you don't ever need to actually think when playing the game.

Telepath Tactics on Steam is pretty good so far gameplay wise, lots of cool stuff you can do with the envrionment. It's a shame that every character feels like someone's OC.

Vestaria Saga isn't translated yet, maybe it'll be good.

Finished Fates, so I'm going back and playing Sacred Stones.
Unfortunately I'm fucking shit at any Fire Emblem. I hate permadeath but also hate having to rely on Seth 24/7 so my other units don't level.

Don't ever use Seth, don't ever use your paladin. Give all your early experience to Eirika and Ross.

Tbh, what I do with every Premote-mentor character is I trade away all their equipment to allies, and just use them as a moving wall to kite enemies in.

It's a hard habit to kick now that I'm going for lower turn clears, but it's good for spreading your exp evenly.

Seth actually doesn't have terrible growths though, in the midgame if he's still alive you can give him his weapons back and he'll be a pretty good unit. There are other better ones, but if none of your other riders turn out well, he's an option.

That's the thing, Ross dies to a swift breeze though at least he has a ranged option. I'd be willing to take more risks if I could turn perma death off but that's just how it is.

Ross always needs several chaperones to feed him kills. Use Garcia and someone else you don't plan on leveling too much to get enemies down to low HP. Give Ross a Hand Axe ASAP, he's not going to do much damage with the Hatchet early on.

Im playing throught the one with elinwood hector and lyndis, its pretty good so far, wyvern bitch was being a huge pain in the ass but after like 2 hours louise went full matrix and pulled 2 critical shots in a row while evading 6 spears in a row

She's recruitable, but the roster of Binding Blade is so big that it doesn't really matter, and she loses her stat boost spear when she's a recruit too.

Playing through Radiant Dawn right now, actually. I have a question though, is it worth it to let Naliah and the Black Knight plow through the first part of the last part 1 mission just to prevent the dick-ass thieves from stealing all the level's treasure? Most of the units I've been raising are at or near level 20, and I can farm the rest of them up on the reinforcements. I'm not 100% sure what all of the treasure does, but it seems really valuable. I've raised Micaiah, Jill, Nolan, and Aran.

Literally only Awakening does this, and even then only with specific characters. And it's not like there weren't previous games in the series that couldn't be easily broken, you can literally solo FE8 with Seth or FE4 gen 1 with Sigurd.

The black mage yeah i got him, i don't know about the other guy, i use the 3 lords the pegasus knights and the wyvern guy, i switch between the mages and the archers since i try to keep them all in the same level, most of my characters are lvl 12 and the lords lvl 15, the only autism character i have is hector bodyguard since i played like 3 levels with him only to get him to lvl 20 and turn him into a general just in case i get stuck
