I've long maintained that one of the best markers of RE4's excellent design is that the consensus preferred weapons seem to change every couple years. There was a time when the TMP was not considered viable, last I checked it's been enjoying some popularity. The Red9 was once considered the only handgun worth using, now it seems like it's fallen by the wayside, and the Blacktail and default handgun have by turns had their time in the sun. I think it speaks well to the game's balance that 15 years on there are still's still room for debate about favourite loadouts.

i just wish it was a bit more balanced. the striker shouldnt be the objectively best shotgun. and the tommy gun shouldn't have been made OP, it could have been just an alternative to the tmp

But the Tommy gun was just a reward for beating the game though, right? You can't use it on your first playthrough, think of it as an unlockable cheat.
