OOT Unreal Engine 4

I know we all like to meme about the "NINTENDO HIRE THIS MAN" thing but even if the guy used some community assets this is still fairly impressive for someone to do. My only wish is he tried to make his own new Zelda fangame instead of trying to remake OoT. It would've been a lot better that way.

like said kazillion times:
It looks like shit, and no, this ain't that much work if you know anything about vidya. It's a literal asset-rip + bunch of stock effects spammed everywhere.

you know it wouldn't play very well either, right

stupid idea and a waste of time but sure the graphics do look kinda nice. This whole thing started when everyone still agreed for some reason that OoT was the best game of all time. Nobody cares anymore.

By jamming all these assets in it looks really really good and glossy...

Which isn’t a good thing.

You see, the hardest thing graphically to do in a game is make a game both photorealistic but also have a sense of an art style. By shamelessly smashing the two styles together, it just looks like shit.

Impressive? Not really given the time that was spent on it. And it's still looks like absolute shit.

it looks good

Demos like this never look good. It only shows how good and accessible gamedev tools have become.

This looks better than literally anything Nintendo has put out in the last 20 years. Considering it probably only took this person a couple dozen hours to do it, Nintendo should be embarrassed and or called out for being lazy hacks. They no longer make good games with best graphics. Now they make games for kids. Old audience is grown up now; so why not follow the money? Only thing I can think of is laziness and greed

>LITERALLY defending bloom & blur shit
>post 2006

no retard. its not impressive. he just slapped asset into a template project where you just walk your character around the level. those graphics aren't impressive. unreal engine makes them piss easy to do. the game probably runs like shit too because he just enabled a ton of fancy lighting and a few particle effects without optimizing a single bit of it.

Keep seething.
Nintendo has never changed their target audience, and BotW was a GOTYAY-tier, beautiful masterpiece.

but it looks good

Making an old game look good doesn’t mean you possess any talent in game making. Look at the guy who remade the final bowser level from 64. That level looked like shit in the original, but somehow it’s worse remade.he also tried adding ambient lighting to the final bowser fight and now you can’t even see bowser. Over and over again these unreal engine remakes prove that they possess no knowledge of what actually goes into the design aspect of it all. They just want to appeal to normies who will share their shit on Facebook for nostalgia fueled likes

Hows that yellow filter on most areas, no actual dungeons, and pointless sidequests going user?

Those soulless animations though

>reuse existing assets
>pretty them up
I can photoshop a picture someone took somewhere in the world to look better than the original, but should I call the guy who traveled there out for putting in the work to get it in the first place?

there are peope who unironically defend this?

no it doesn't and anyone with any industry experience can tell you that. you literally cant even see 3 feet in front of link because of how much the bloom and blur was cranked up, and what you can see is a mess of conflicting art styles.

god that looks horrible. link literally look like he was cut out of something else and pasted onto this image. the ground and the player model do not match well at all.

No, it literally does not.

No such things, it has 5 dungeons, and the point of the game is free exploration and discovery.

the divine beasts are not real dungeons. They're like bigger shrines. I get exploring and discovering stuff but there should still be dungeons to explore. And yes there is a fucking yellow tint.

>the divine beasts are not real dungeons.
They are, and there's nothing you can do about it.

>I get exploring and discovering stuff but there should still be dungeons to explore
Why?

>And yes there is a fucking yellow tint.
fix your monitor.

>free exploration and discovery.
lmao theres nothing to discover and the only world to explore is an empty one

on the switch version i mean. playing botw on pc fixes the graphical shit thanks to mods.

also they are not real dungeons. and there should be real dungeons cus that shit is what zelda is about. you can add a new core mechanic of exploring but still have actual dungeons

>exploration and discovery

are you one of those onions fags that cries on camera when he comes across a house with a skeleton in it in an open world game?

>link literally look like he was cut out of something else and pasted onto this image. the ground and the player model do not match well at all.
this is my main issue with the look of the game that i can't understand why the devs would leave it like that. the level of detail between some environments and the flat colored link is way too much in some places and completely kills immersion as it feels like link isn't actually part of the world.

>lmao theres nothing to discover
Spoken like the true brainlett.

>on the switch version i mean.
I played the game on WiiU, and it was beautiful as hell.

Are you one of those Retardera refugees who falls for all the basic word filters?

yes filler enemy tribe #884 is so interesting and worth exploring for

Jesus christ you seething nintenbabies.

I can't wait til Apple buys out nintendo

watch out! His head's gonna implode!

Genius game design.

>hey we should add like gradual enemy progression as the player gets more gear
>ok sure
>just change the bokoblins colors and make them do more damage of hearts and have more hp
>sir thats lazy, shouldnt we make actual new interesting enemies with more difficult fighting patterns?
>no

I want Yea Forums to tell me, why exactly are fanmade remakes bad? Why should a fan stop doing something he likes just because you don't like it?

fangames like this are cool

there's a 1200p option
