People called me crazy when consoles were starting to boom, but as games became more complex we had to start transitioning between "loading screens".
Games used to be quick and easy, but also cheaper and faster, then these big companies come out and think that putting a fancy screen with some letters on it feel like it means something special.
Loading screens were simply a trick by the developers to help pad out the length of the game to complete. It's not about actually loading things, it's about developers having a dick measuring contest to see which game can take the longest to complete ie)which game has the biggest and longest loading times.

I know your joking, but streaming video games have huge technical limitations like input lag and most likely not being able to play more graphically intense games, which means you wont be getting AAA games anytime soon on the common PC. Movies do not have this problem.

Microsoft taxes the sale of every new computing device. Sony relies on a massive insurance sales platform. This allows them to sell hardware below cost to keep new entrants out, and what would Sega or anyone else be able to do to really differentiate themselves to make the higher cost worth it?
The only company Sega could conceivably compete with on cost is Nintendo, and they've differentiated themselves by completely dropped out of the traditional console market and gone handheld only.

If the servers are down, you won't get a single byte of the digital download, but if you have the physical copy you will have the pre-patch base game. It's not like every pre-patch version is as trash as Homefront Liberation or Fallout 76.

Simple answer. Avoid phyiscal western games. With the exception of Kingdom hearts3, Jap games usually release in a finishable state and dont require day one patches.

I think it's going to be a high-end emulation box that offers streaming AAA titles and collects the more eclectic, classic consoles: Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, NeoGeo, etc.
It will be super cheap; $150 or lower, and will basically become a must-buy for anyone that enjoys 90's-era games and has a good internet connection.
Also it connects with everything Google, so you can stream your console to wherever you are via app or web browser. And since it's made by Google it supports app developers from the Android market on Day 1. That means every streaming service, every website, every app will be available for use across your Google devices, culminating around your home console system.
