>Bow
>It's a dexterity weapon
Bow
>Bow takes strength
How's boy scouts going
Draw-pound forces would require a minimum strength, it wouldn't really scale upwards. If you're strong enough for an 80lb bow it shoots with that much force, you can't "overdraw" it or anything.
>Bow uses Dex for accuracy
>Bow uses Str for damage
The way it should be. 3.5 did it right.
>Bow
>It's not a dexterity weapon
Are there any games where you can use a bow as a melee weapon?
>bow
>does less damage than melee weapons
>have penalties/is unusable at melee range
>all the encounters are short range
Bows are the medieval shotguns of vidya.
>Longbows
>Warbows
Pretty sure you needed to be pretty strong to use those properly.
people should keep in mind though that when i say strong i mean the bowmen would be stronger than the average peasant, soldiers in the middle ages did not all look like roided out body builders no matter how much burgers want that to be true.
this
>crossbow is worse than bow
dexterity means you're skilled at something dumbass, ofc bow requires dex
It doesn't matter how strong you are if you can't aim.
Bows shouldn't use str for damage, but there should be a minimum str for each bow
Get a bigger bow
>if below minimum str, you can still use it, but it won't be nearly as effective
>if you meet minimum str it functions as normal
>if your str is significantly higher than minimal it works slightly better than normal
hey look we fixed video games
and then make it so that str increases your carry weight capacity and suddenly str is a viable and useful stat for bowmen in rpgs.
The reload time makes them inferior but you could hand one to any peasant and didn't need training.
Skyrim
>No dex requirement for long blades
>Archer class
Fire arrow
Ice arrow
Stun arrow
Explosive arrow
Double arrow
Stone arrow
(enemytype)slayer arrow
That's how it worked in KCD.
>crossbow
>didn't need training
yeah if you didn't like actually hitting anything
I mean compared to how long it takes to be a competent bowman
>one handed sword is always faster than a two handed sword
uh yeah its smoller???
STR should be for range (with a minimum required to even use the bow) and carry weight
Dark Souls 2 lets you jump attack with them
Dwarf Fortress lets you use both bows and crossbows as melee weapons
Well, yeah?
>Let's give John the ability to change the past with absolutely no consequences!
>And have him save ONLY ONE PERSON from dying!
As long as it's not some kind of ultra great sword a two handed sword is faster than a one handed one. Has to do with the grip and the fact that a two handed sword is actually not much heavier than a one handed one.
Please don't remind me of how Hussie ruined his own story.
