>mfw one of the biggest game controversies yet turned out to become a decent game
What do y'all think of the new NMS?
No man's sky

Mostly Positive and Mixed = still shit
they still have a long way to go
Astroneer is better
Not an excuse. Although devs can improve products and can sometimes be forgiven, the absolute trash state it was in at release overweighs any changes made today.
They should've either delayed the release or advertised it properly. They didn't even respond, just locked down their twitter for months except to make a tweet about Mr. Robot.
It was a shit game, and even if it's less shit now doesn't mean they didn't originally serve us shit.
I wish we had a Privateer-style game but with the arcadey mechanics of NMS.
I think Star Citizen need not bother at this point.
someone needs to combine no mans sky with spore with planetary annihilation and you would have the perfect game.
Mixed because all the reviews launch, i don't think you know how to interpret that pic
>it gets good two years after launch
Murray should have cut his losses and started on a new game instead of polishing that turd.
launch reviews*
I'd get it for 20€
too bad it's 60€
Why aren't they blacklisted yet? They pulled a con and almost got away with it.
It's fun for like 30 hours, then it gets stale
Getting your first freighter feels good but it falls off after that.
still not worth 60 bucks.
I'd love an Astroneer mmo where people can meet eachother and trade resources unique to different planets
I was a retard and preordered the game back when. Came out, played it, was disappointed but it still scratched that space explorer itch that no PS4 title offered. I put in well over 100 hours mining and selling so I could buy a new ship at ludicrous prices. Then came Atlas or whatever, I thought now's the time they redeem themselves. Ofcourse they didn't, but like I stated before, I'm a fucking retard and I had hope. Storyline is a joke, freighters are redundant filler, space battles were still laughable, even the inbred retard creatures were toned down. FFWD to two days ago: retarded me decided to give NMS one last final chance and see what they've been doing the past years.
It's still planet hopping to laserbeam materials to ultimately upgrade your ship and backpack. There's more steps along the way, every step a small reward to push you onward. There's a point where you realize you miss vital recipes for interstellar travel, that's where it loses moment and the game becomes a chore. Once you have the recipes, congratulations! there's your gameplay loop. Rinse and repeat.
tldr;
Still the same game, be it slightly better streamlined, still wide as ocean/deep as puddle, and still the only PS4 game that offers decent space exploration.
Any other studio would have wrote the game off as a loss and started developing something else. I respect them for sticking with the game despite the (deserved) hate.
it was still janky as fuck the last time I played it, structures not snapping together properly, storage built in a freighter opening holes straight to the void of space
if those problems aren't fixed and they're developing new stuff its still trash
You're right, good thing it isn't being charged for $60
This. I can't help but feel that NMS indirectly set a bad example that no one learns from. Stuff like Fallout '76 specifically following the shit-now-better-later-stay-silent.
>explore planets
>find wrecked ship that needs to be repaired
>claim it
>takes tons of hard to grind resources to repair
>call down one of your functional ships
>wrecked ship is now in your freighter because only one of your ships is allowed to be out at once
>fly back to your freighter
>switch back to your new busted ship
>wait until someone arrives with a ship you want
>broken ship is worth full price even though its busted up
>trade it in for credit with new guy and trade up for a huge discount
and that's how I became an intergalactic used car conman
no clue if it still works but it invalidates a ton of natural money progression
>Y-you are n-not g-getting any u-updates!!! LOL
>Who cares if they added MP!!! LMAO
>I-its sill b-bad!!! XDD
Keep the salt comming faggots.
They wanted to delay it but they ran out of cash.
but is it good now, user?
can you answer this with the truth?
sales when?
Not the same user, but I did laugh at it when it came out, got gifted it last summer when they added co-op. I gotta say it's decent even if I still think it's shit move Murray never addressed any of it previously. It looks and plays good now, and looks like it'll actually be better with the next update.
So did they finally add decent survival mechanics?
just pirate it if you have to play this
those assholes already made a fortune off of gullible retards, no need to shove more money down their throats
I'll gift you a copy.
It's still repetitive and boring.
gift me one too user
Is it fun, playable and has decent amount of content?
I got baited by too many "oh it will be fun in a year" early access games.
I'm curious how MMOish the next update will be.
Still looks nothing like those deceptive early trailers and all those broken promises.
I didn't give them my money, and I sure as hell not going to after all those lies, even if it's made some progress towards a half-decent product.
Spore was a harsh lesson, one that I won't soon forget.
You want it? It's yours.
What is it that makes Sean Murray literally /ourguy/, aka the face of Yea Forums?
Fuck off, Jim.
I will give you a key, which email shall I send it to?
send to me on Steam senpai we can play together

Still a boring ass game but less ass than it was at launch. I quit but I'm sure it's GOAT for some zoomers out there. Fuck Hello Games.
Are you seeing posts that aren't really there?
You should go see a therapist.
What in the name of god are these games
games I enjoy user
>2019
>Still no dedicated free roam mode that isn’t for toddlers
It's still shit. All they did was covering a pile of shit with some newspaper.
That's why people are impressed. They don't see just a pile of shit. They see a kinda disguised pile of shit.
All updates are pointless and add nothing worthy for the game.
Crafting, base building, multiplayer, quests.
All superficial shit.
The point of the game is space exploration. They should add new mutators for each planet, each solar system. Have planets unique, with their own laws of physics. Planets with big, environment changes. Planets that are all a big desert with giant worms and extreme temperature. A planet with gigantic waves like in interstellar, A planet that is all but gas. A planet with heavy or low gravity. A planet in constant volcanic eruptions. A planet with a constant storm raining acid or pieces of ice shards.
They should add interesting fauna, interesting wild aliens.
They should add content that actually fits the theme of space exploration.
All they add is shit base building, crafting mechanics that you see in every survival game and you retards clap like it is "finally good!"
It isn't good. It went from incredibly shitty to incredibly bland. You are the reason why this industry is trash.
You retards have low expectations and are easily impressed by trash
Played it at launch, played it a few months ago with the updates and what not. I think it’s a pretty fun game but I like base building and hoarding assloads of resources for trades and stuff.
>still missing the majority of features it was advertised to have at launch
No it fucking didn't.
You still have to constantly shoot rocks for fuel. That's the core gameplay.
W O A H

BUT NOW THE ROCKS SOMETIMES MOVE AROUND
HOLY
SHIT
You wouldn’t be able to survive on most of those planets ever. You want to explore the unexplorable. What do you find interesting? It’s a buzzword without explaining what could be fascinating about these plants or animals. I think the crazy designs are interesting in itself and there are certainly some very dangerous planets. Incredibly toxic worlds or incredibly radioactive/hot/cold planets. Planets or moon without atmosphere have low gravity on them.
TELL ME LIES TELL ME SWEET LITTLE LIEEEEEEESSSSS
>that's how I became an intergalactic used car salesman
ftfy
>that guy chugging booze with the smug look on his face
he knew
Who the fuck cares about realism? A planet with an incredibly toxic atmosphere? Like acidic gases being spewed from the ground covering which forces you to find way to explore the planet through other means? underground exploration? Getting some armor or space suit to protect you partially or completely against those hazards?
There is a pretty cool planet in Chronicles of Riddick where everytime the sun rises, everything that isn't in the shade gets ignited by the intense heat.
Have shit like that in planets, have crazy planets. It's a game, a game with a big emphasis on fantasy and sci fi. It isn't realistic to survive in such condition? It doesn't need to be realistic. The game needs to be fun, which it isn't.
>Choosing to play/not play a game based on contexts outside of the game itself.
Play it for what it currently is, children rage at the dumbest shit.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOME
Just now realized how he slipped in Todd quotes to fuck everyone, and despite it being mere memeing everyone still thought he was serious.
Source on the picture? Google is giving me Siren Head, Is that picture just fan art?
