Well, GoW did have a good narrative. I still think that GoW is the better game, because it is more fun. But RDRD2 is more memorable and impactful, and has the best overall presentation and storytelling I've ever seen in a video game.
Also, I think rather than not many people having played RDR2 yet back then, it was more a case of people artificially lowering their opinion of the game compared to GoW, which had been out for months, to account for RDR2 still being fresh on everyone's mind.

Overrated game which 2 surpasses in almost every field. Played it after 2 and completed it for the first time and it was pretty mediocre. The end, while I do admit to being spoiled to (but I was also spoiled to the end of 2) felt fucking stupid and random, as if they didn't know how to end it.
RDR2 was better in story and as an overall western/Americana experience. I was much more immersed in that game and had much more attachment to the characters. I mean you don't even get to see your family until the end of the first game. Arthur was also 100% better than John.

In my opinion God of War was boring and overly sanitized pos but what I could say about it is that the core combat system that carried the game was solidly designed and while RDR2's gameplay is more varied, the combat is far simpler especially when you consider most normie retards use autoaim and there were too many gimmick shit QTEs. I was really disappointed with the camp stuff. It feels like they wanted to make it much more in depth but realised normalfags would hate having to provide so they gutted most of it. There needed to be more upgrades of actual value like the ones you use money for, compared to the cosmetic ones you can do with Pearson that don't even affect anything save make things look a little more pretty. Also fuck whoever made the challenges a thing, the later blackjack gambler one where you have to hit about 3 times and win and the hunting one where you need to kill 5 cougars with a bow are fucking awful, since Cougars seem to be the most elusive animals in the game.

It took three playthroughs of chapter 6 for me to notice how Dutch's priorities changed from keeping and saving the gang to saving his own skin. Seeing him interact with John and Abigail at the shady Bell Cabo you can see he doesn't trust them at all. It's only driven home harder when he would make Jack an orphan when it means saving his own skin.
It's got such a story that only gets more depressing the more you play it. Arthur really became a real human bean due to his sickness and a man Dutch could only have aspired to be. When it comes to PC I'll do a bad honour playthrough to see if it has the same nuances in the opposite direction.

God RDR2 looks good. Whatever lighting system they used makes everything look almost real, and some of the actual static object textures arent even High res. Honestly I would only be happy if a bunch of ninjas pulled a watergate on rockstar and stole their lighting system. It just makes things look good.
