Do any left-handers actually use a mouse left-handed?
Do any left-handers actually use a mouse left-handed?
nope, not a single person on the planet
Left-handed here, I honestly can't use a mouse with my left-hand. At least, I never really gave it a thought. Just too much effort to really invest into a nice left-handed mouse. Using a mouse right-handed is the only vague ambidextrous thing I have I guess.
why does he have half a keyboard
it's a ~gaming keypad~
Any mouse can be a left handed mouse. You just change one setting in Windows or OSX or whatever you use and put it on the other side of your keyboard. You could probably aim better with your dominant hand
Nope. Nothing's made for us left-handed people.
In fact, I think I've turned myself ambidextrous at this point. I even wipe my ass with my right hand. Used to know a guy who did use M+KB with his left hand; he had to
reconfigure literally everything in every game he wanted to play. Can't see myself going through all that trouble.
Some do but most don't. I've maybe met like 2 people in my whole life who use mouse left handed.
but a lot of mouses are marketed that it just werks with right and left hand. so there must be a market.
Father was left-handed. Growing up, he always kept the mouse on the left side of the keyboard on the family computer. At first I tried to change it, but he always got angry if I didn't change it back properly. Eventually I just learned to use it on my left side. I remember playing Age of Empires II and Warcraft III like this. I can still change sides and not screw up the buttons. It's not really useful or conducive for many games, though.
Not gonna lie, I'm trying it out now even with my Corsair Darkcore and it's strangely fine. Even without switching the mouse buttons respectively, I could probably use the left-sided buttons with enough training. Now I just gotta figure out how I'd feel with using my right hand on the keyboard.
im left handed, my brother is right handed.
We both use the mouse with our left hand.
I was a bit wrong, the button switch doesn't seem to go beyond clicking around in Windows (I just tried it in DMC5 and it went back to normal).
In 90% of PC games you can just re-bind the buttons though and swap the M1 and M2 functionalities. And for games you can't, there's probably some software out there that can run in the background to swap them for you before your input is sent to the game
No.
>the button switch doesn't seem to go beyond clicking around in Windows
It depends on whether the game uses DirectInput or raw mouse input
Friends of mine is left-handed, he uses his mouse with his right hand for everything, but when he would draw something with a mouse he uses his left hand because he draws like a toddler with his right (as most people would with their non-dominant hand)
Kinda fucked me up seeing that
I have an ambidextrous mouse that is completely symmertical in design with thumb buttons on either side. At the press of a button it will switch to the lefty profile while also turning on its LEDs to indicate it is in southpaw mode. I only use this when the cat wants to chill in my lap and I have to put my legs up on the table to my left.
I will use it with my left hand when my cat wants to chill on my lap and I put my legs up one the desk.
Oh, I'm right handed btw. It's really just because of the cat when I can't reach the mouse with my right arm. I still wanted to have thumb buttons reachable in those situation. That's why I chose an ambidextrous mouse. I love my cat.
We have an advantage with driving in LHD countries so basically everywhere.
Lefty here. I don't use my left hand for a mouse and I can't imagine doing so
What is a LHD country?
left-hand drive (steering wheel on the left)
I'm left handed and have used it right handed my whole life.
I wonder if I'd be better at FPS if I used left handed though, currently I death grip the mouse in intense situations(usually multiplayer) which causes a tremor in my hand that makes my aim shit.
Cross-dominant and I've always used the mouse with my right.
I guess I'm one of the few. Early on I remapped the controls for everything from wasd to like ijkl or some shit. Now I just don't care.
not here
No, since you're always taught to use them right handed and it's always setup that way
As a result I'm far better with a mouse in my right hand but lack the fine dexterity to be good at shooters and stuff
Even if you were left handed it just seems inconvenient .
ive tried for 2 hours and cannot do it
my coordination is fucked, cant strafe and look at the same spot
also hands are way too close if your mouse is on the left
it also feels retarded when you want to type because you gotta move both hands
lefty here
nope, maybe if my school's computer lab had a lefty setup when I was a kid but it sounds like a pain in the ass to accommodate, especially in the workplace
Fuck no. The only HUGE advantage to being left handed is being able to masturbate easier on the computer. Scared of getting caught? Keep your right hand on the mouse, hover over the Cross button. Want to change videos? Just keep clicking away.
Why the FUCK would you use your Dick HOLDER (r) to hold a mouse when you're right hand is all-right?
>being left handed in the first place
freak
I used to remap to play lefty back in like bf1942/2142 but I got sick of that shit and just started playing right-handed, even though my right hand is garbo.
I got a left handed mouse as a gift after growing up with a right handed mouse through all my childhood. I tried it for a month, but I could never get used to it.
How does having the steering wheel on the left benefit left-handed people? You're forced to operate everything in the centre of the car with your weaker hand (gearbox, stereo controls, satnav, etc.)
Statistically, left handed people have higher IQ and longer dicks. I'm sorry you weren't born with superior genes.
I can't play FPS with my right, aim is worse than a toddler. Most other games I can play righty but there's no reason to. I'm the guy that pays extra for lefty gear and re-maps everything.
Why haven't they invented glowing mosepads for these people?
>gaming keypad
I thought these were terrible things or was I wrong?
>he doesn't masturbate with his left hand
top 20 ut2k4/2k3 player here. OBVIOUSLY I swear by left, my dominant, more accurate hand.
but i can use right too, for office functions.
I'm left handed but have always used my right hand for my mouse. Sometimes I wonder if i'd have better aim using my left hand though.
I do not. Learned how to use a mouse right handed way back when I was like 4 or 5 and stuck with it. Thought of using my left hand sounds weird and actually using my left hand feels awkward. It's one of two things I deliberately do right handed, the other being guitar.
It's just practice. I grew up on Counter-Strike and was pretty good at it, with mouse on right hand as a lefty. Could land AK headshots in a fraction of a second across half of the map.
I got rusty now, I play more comfy games like RPGs and simulation or strategy games nowadays.
I used to play Starcraft too and had pretty good mouse micro.
Yes, I use an ambidextrous mouse on my leftside.
Statiscally, left-handed people are more likely to be autistic and homosexual.
Not even kidding.
Is there any reason to practice right at this point though?
yes + numeric keypad
Well, I'm quite straight. Not autistic, maybe slightly assburgers. Mostly just social anxiety, though.
Im left handed and can use my mouse perfectly with either hand, but I use right handed mainly because of keyboard placement
Assburgers is just a specific flavour of autism, actually.
