The only time I have ever used a cheat was a LUA script cheat on GMod which had wall hacks, aim bot, told me who the admins were, highlighted their player models appropriately, had a white/black list for who to aim bot so you could target specific players. There was also a speed hack and it showed you where shit like money printers and shit was on those roleplay servers.

Modern Warfare 2 was a fucking mess dude, and it wasn't just that one instance. Certain combinations of fucking graphical options triggered VAC bans for people in Dec 2009, there was the FOV slider shit people here have mentioned, and there was 0 distinction given when banning for texture modding.

I've never once cheated in games. I have, however, had a nightmare that I got a false VAC record and nobody believed me when I said it wasn't true. That shit still terrifies me to this day.

It is way likelier that I get banned and branded over nothing due to an accident than me going to go stab somebody. This isn't hard to figure out.

Vac only affects official valve servers, which ironically no-one actually plays on.

I used both the stat editor and the FOV changer for MW2 and didn't receive a VAC ban.

Private servers use VAC to check posible targets for a ban, if you have a VAC you are already on thin ice in any private server that uses battlemetrics.
