Honestly I liked the MyCastle stuff more than the actual tactical parts. Spent a lot of time on that

Lunatic Conquest is the best fire emblem game to date, and it's so much better than everything else that it's almost an insult to call it fire emblem.

I've replayed it like 11 times now and I don't even have a single thought of playing the sequels or replaying any other game in the series again. It's that good.

It shat on its own feet story wise with revelations, and most of the missions were pretty brainless in Birthright with many of the enemies not having skills at all.

Story ranges from okay to braindead, but the gameplay itself is fine outside of some bullshit chapters.

Assays my castle is good. I liked the nerf of Awakening Pair Up, and most of the maps were fun, especially that of Hoshido's conquest in Conquest (final map is shit however). Revelation also had good maps but too many characters and you have to bench or babysitting them since they join at very low level. The story is bullshit, one of the worst I ever seen, too bad because it didn't looked that mediocre from the trailers.
In the end I think that instead of 3 games they could have done one, since ideas and gameplay weren't that bad, I even actually prefer Fates maps over Echoes shit ones and the only good things Echoes does better are graphics and art style

I liked the IDEA of the story but not the execution. The weapon change turned me off at first but I learned to like it. I like MUs but think they should never, EVER be allowed to be the main character. Lots of nice character designs trapped forever in a divisive game where only ~8 of them get any attention.

Attached: popcorn.jpg (640x425, 207K)

Too true. Lunatic Conquest efficiency is a actual trpg compared to any other FE.

It's almost like they made Birthright just so the brainlets could have a separate game to ruin.

Attached: 898.jpg (600x338, 30K)

As dumb as some aspects are it's one of my favorite games period.

also it gave me my waifu so there's that

The only characters I like from birthright is Takumi and Oboro.

Conquest has better gameplay and family. Its pretty fun to laugh about how shitty the story is too.

lame game

Attached: 1549908235486.jpg (514x379, 67K)

The weapon penalty system is so much better than garbage durability it's not even funny.

I played Birthright blind on lunatic and had a pretty good time. Ended up liking some Hoshido characters way more than I thought I would.

Conquest was one of the best FE games while Birthright/Revelations were some of the worst. Needless to say, I'm worried about Three Houses.

Rev is shit, bright right is ok, conquest is pretty good. And when I say shit I mean by far the worst fire emblem I’ve played.

>It's fine to have a completely awful narrative in a story driven genre because the gameplay is ok I guess.

Gameplay wise, Conquest is the best FE game. The story is lacking, but it's good enough to keep you going and nobody plays FE for the story

Conquest is incredibly fun on pretty much any difficulty, and if you can mod the story to not be utter garbage it's a top 5 FE game easily.
Only bad thing is that Best girl is kinda mediocre. Also fuck Ninjas seriously

Yes.

Attached: 1532044784763.png (276x276, 111K)

Conquest was great, Birthright was shit.
MyCastle generally and even the petting stuff was pretty fun.
Playing the unfinished fantranslation is a 1000x better experience than playing the official translation.

I don't remember a thing about Birthright other than Xander putting Elise to sleep. So I guess that means it was just okay.

Conquest was an amazing experience. Unbelievably great gameplay only matched by an unbelievably shit story with some of the stupidest character decisions I've ever seen. Play this one.

Revelations was slightly better than Birthright from a gameplay perspective (except for the last few maps, Jesus Christ), but the story doubled-down on the shit, and while it didn't reach Conquest-tier retardation, it was still pretty miserable. However, it's the one I've played the most, but that's only because I use that game to grind out everyone's supports.

7/10. An overpriced package with even more overpriced DLC that comes that ends up being 2 alright games and one amazing experience. Would recommenced Conquest to Hardcore FEfags and Revelations to Casual FEfags.

This meme.

>story driven genre
>turn-based tactical rpg
you wot mate

>Ninja in range to hit
>Does 0, 1 or 2 damage
>LOL POISON STRIKE YOU LOSE -20% HP
Epic

Yes that's why the game is good. Greentexting is a sign of a Yea Forums user aka a subhuman retard

You do know what the R in RPG stand for, right?
I'll tell you right now, it's not Roll.

It's crazy how much better CQ is better than other FE games. It's like the devs thought "huh we been making so many shitty VN's for our series it's time to catch up to other srpgs"

Attached: 1551982227364.png (201x245, 61K)

Nearly every conquest map, especially in the second half, had something unique to it for the player to deal with. 1-2 range weapons having speed penalty is a better deal than how it was in the past. Most attacks hitting means no dodge tanks and requires better tactical placement. Conquest is best gameplay of the series.

Mario Galaxy is my favorite role playing game

Conquest is already a top 5 FE game and it having a shitty story doesn't really bring it down when the rest of the series also hss shitty and boring stories. Conquest is the best in the series gameplay wise and its not even close.

I don't really mind the poison strike, Just how fucking annoying, it's the debuff stacking on Lunatic that drives me insane since i end up needing to pray for a hit. Took me about two days since i'm such a brainlet

The story would be a problem if FE was a Walking Sim or Visual Novel, doesn't apply as much to a TRPG.

>revelation was better than birthright from a gameplay perspective
>a good portion of the characters that join you are completely worthless and can’t even contribute during the chapter they join in
>the gimmicks waste your time and add nothing to the map or how you might progress through them
>Corrin is literally the only good “primary” character you’ll get until hayato, who I believe joins on the fourth chapter
>the absolute state of Hana, who exists only to show how fucked rev is from a character balance perspective

>conquest is good, actually

Is just a meme. Solved literally none of the issues from awakening

Birthright is absolute dogshit. Dunno about Conquest.

FE isn't even a rpg. There's no customization, very little focus on battle strategy, etc. Dice rolls and level ups don't make something a rpg

>Waah I've been called out mommy ;_;
Mario games use narrative as a shallow excuse to set up gameplay.
Your typical RPG is more integrated in how it uses its story as part of the experience.
You're the type of faggot who pretends that Paper Mario didn't go to shit with the sticker games.

Yeah man I loved nostanking conquest

*Hits every Rock despite 50% accuracy*

Attached: Golem.png (512x510, 422K)

Conquest is great, Birthright was enjoyable, Revelation is meh.

>Earthbound isn't an rpg guys, shut the fuck up already.

Attached: Stoneborn 2.jpg (320x240, 85K)

Midori deserves to die!

conquest is overrated garbage and the other routes are flat out trash. characters are all shit. no weapon durability is implemented badly. dragon vein fucks balance of characters through the roof. my castle is dumb filler shit. the children chapters are incredibly badly designed. it's like they didn't even test them. i left some children to die and the game acted like i still recruited them. nice music. i want to be camilla and get railed hard until i can't think straight. i think that just about covers all my thoughts.

>i want to be camilla and get railed hard until i can't think straight.
nice

That about sums it up, although Id say Revelations is fucking awful instead. They really dropped the ball with that one.

Are you actually retarded? Mario games do not use narrative nor does narrative ever made in a video game. Paper Mario uses it's story because the gameplay is fucking garbage, in fact take out the story and the game doesn't change, it's still a piece of shit. Is nu-Yea Forums still hung up on the idea that story equals rpg? Because FE does not follow tabletop at all.

kill yourselves, fateshitters

Attached: garanteedrepliestierlist1.png (1216x1221, 1.74M)

I was given Birthright and played it casually recently. I set a S Rank Support between Kaze & Mozu to have her, only to have Kaze die because I didn't get supports with him & Corrin. I felt cucked.

454971669
you can't be more fucking obvious.
fuck off, try harder for replies

The problem was I played Conquest first then played the other two Fates games which then had me scared as to which direction the series could go.

I adore her "crafty" face she does which is somewhat like Charlotte's

I grinded like a motherfucker whenever I ran through Revelations, probably why I didn't notice the balancing issues. Also, don't remember the maps getting into garbage territory until you jump down the canyon.

But it has been a year or two since I've played Fates, so maybe I should do another playthrough and see how I feel now.

Attached: Kana.png (600x500, 881K)

Earthbound is rpg because it features focus on customization, immersion, dice-rolls, Experience and levels, combat and content scalability. etc

>Mario games do not use narrative

Attached: 1532307375483.jpg (481x401, 35K)

>the only good things Echoes does better are graphics and art style

and story and characters!

tell us more about you wanting to be camilla

So it's just like FE?

Yes mario games do not use narrative. Rip the narrative out of Odyssey and it's the same exact game

No Earthbound is actually good. FE barely features any of that. Is AW a rpg now?

The only Fire Emblem i've played is Fates
I enjoyed the gameplay alot but i'm really lost on what game to play next, need help

Attached: Rhajat_Heroes.png (150x453, 86K)

I have never played any of the top row at all and Sacred Stones is my favourite.

best girl

Attached: c2fc46a49274a513c2ccd666aaae75d3.png (380x546, 267K)

>no weapon durability is implemented badly.
Wrong and better than durability which is objectively shit.
>dragon vein fucks balance of characters through the roof
It doesn't at all
> my castle is dumb filler shit
Online castle shit is garbage true
>the children chapters are incredibly badly designed
Nope and objectively better than Awakening.

Yikes. Sacred Shit is not good.

The only ones before 6 worth playing are 4 and 5 so you're not missing much.

Though you should still play them. Also good taste, SS is one of my faves.

Imagine being retarded enough to think the worst girl in the series is good when the series has a host of shit girls.

Birthright is all around average, being a slightly mechanically improved Awakening.

Conquest has what is overall some of the best gameplay but terrible story, basically making it RD 2.0.

Revelations has both shit maps and shit story.

But goddamn do I wanna be sandwiched between Camilla and Kagero

Attached: e14fc7165117473621a1ea569fb5061d.jpg (800x1098, 189K)

Shit taste on all accounts. 4 and 5 are not worth playing at all for being yet another poorly designed Kagashit title and 3 should not be skipped. 8 is a fucking terrible game

we posting improvements?

Attached: osr4hkyrlt1u3x7x3o51280.png (702x971, 631K)

I like Peri but her non- Laslow, Keaton and Kaden supports are awful.

Shit being better than dogshit isn't a accomplishment

I tried to use Rinkah as much as I could but when I got Scarlet I immediatly dropped Rinkah despite my efforts. Worst unit

Attached: scarlet.png (338x512, 217K)

You didn’t notice? Characters like Odin literally couldn’t engage an enemy without getting orko’ed. Hell I remember hating the wind map solely because they force rinkah on you who does either 0 damage or 1 to the lowest def enemies on the map, I can’t remember. As for the maps you have gems like the first rev map(aka park Corrin in enemy range and have him solo everything because Gunter and servant[or at least Felicia, haven’t tried femcorrin yet] can’t contribute outside of their buffslut personal skills) and this pile of shit. And who can forget that shitty stealth map where haha you went through the blue door for the third time, how’d you know?? I dunno, maybe I’m just highly autistic because I seriously can’t understand how anyone can possibly like rev outside of machosists wanting to pvp each other online.

Play Awakening next, then play Sacred Stones. After those poke your head into 7 and Path of Radience and see if you like those, if not I would just wait until 3H.

They're far from the best designed games in the series but they've got some unique aspects which makes them more interesting to play than, say, 7. Plus 4's story makes up for the gameplay. Also just play 12, dumbass.

The two genders.

I liked Sacred Stones for a bit of silly reason in that it gave me more time to play around with the characters. The colour palette was an eye sore though.

Enjoying Echoes merely on presentation.

Eh, they're far from good but the only stand out terrible one is Xander's. 'Sides, fates has tons of characters like that, with only a few great supports and meh to awful everything else.

Attached: 1513443724188m.jpg (853x1024, 97K)

unique doesn't mean good. 7 is shit but it's still better than 4 and 5 which can barely be called trpgs. 4 is a walking sim and 5 is just trash but inserted into super famicom cart. 4's does not make up for the bad gameplay, it's not even that good. 12 ruins the story of 3 completely, it's better gameplay wise but enough to skip the only good Kagashit game

Attached: 1551633199119.png (238x288, 111K)

Who are the worst Fates units?

>And who can forget that shitty stealth map where haha you went through the blue door for the third time

I do recall that being the turning point into bullshit city. Again, its been a while since I've played Fates and maybe another playthrough will change my mind, but I honestly remember finishing the game with nothing more than a "Eh, that was alright" attitude.

A game does have to do a lot for me to call it shit though, so maybe that has something to do with my more positive outlook.

Shura

Rinkah despite being best girl

Rev Odin, Rinkah, Setsuna even though I like her a lot.

Mechanics introduced in Awakening are refined into a more thoughtful and deliberative mechanic like splitting pair up into two separate stances, or limiting reclass options to a single class with the ability to expand it further with support options makes it more interesting, as well as streamlining skill gain per reclassing.
Honestly, just the bizarre meandering stories, besides Birthright which is basically just textbook Fire Emblem with a coat of feudal Japanese paint, is just the major flaw. Also the heavy emphasis on the royal sibling teams and how powerful they tend to be along with the brothers' unique weaponry, kind of compromises the rest of the cast. This is to be expected in Fire Emblem, there's going to be one character of a particular class that's just going to shit all over the other versions in the game, but still it kinda railroads the whole thing. I also generally dislike how much the game's plots just sometimes arbitrarily warps around Corrin to give her the spotlight even when Ryoma and Xander are supposed to be leading their respective forces, compared to how generally benign and in the background Robin was, playing his role of micromanaging tactician while Chrom was focusing on the next big step.

Going forward, doing stuff like working in Heroes' version of the triangle, where different kinds of magic and stones all have their own color and place in a whole unified triangle rather than just having mages slug it out by blasting magic at each other, would be a good way to encourage diversity in building, as well as maybe ditching kids but keeping the idea that characters building supports can "trade" skills or class abilities with their A supports or something to keep up the idea of building strong relationships.
Honestly I'm kind of disappointed Three Houses is just shaping up to be another fucking Gaiden in terms of unit building but with the added conceit of being a teacher with students. Fates was the often the best FE mechanics had gotten.

Attached: 1464399209546.png (1136x1280, 2.03M)

I love Kagero

Attached: e34d73118ad4cdeb21eac2dcd62df732.jpg (1000x1055, 226K)

>Honestly I'm kind of disappointed Three Houses is just shaping up to be another fucking Gaiden in terms of unit building

What?

Attached: BurgerKing.png (1440x2560, 3.48M)

DUDEWEED's speed growth keeps her out of low tier tbqh, Hinata and Saizo are both worse.

>Mod the story
it's called the Skip button

I think he’s saying he’s disappointed that characters seem to basically be villagers you can shape into anything instead of units with specific niches and skill sets.

Outside of having my waifu, I enjoyed it.

Attached: Reina.jpg (480x480, 39K)

I can see Hinata but how is Saizo worse? He's got good growths all around, the amazing base class of ninja, and a decent personal skill.

Horrible story, I hate the eugenics and having to ship people to get their kids and those kids chapters for sweet loot, and Exp and the skill grinding, but Conquest is still a lot of fun and some of the supports are pretty good

Genuinely didn't see anything special in Conquest, I don't get what separates it. AI is still easy to manipulate, it's just not suicide level.

Damn... Owain lets his daughter walk around dressed like THAT?!?

Attached: 1552941313918.png (600x792, 459K)

dude's walking with his junk dangling, of course he will let her walk around like that

It's annoying and doens't make any fucking sense.

He's not bad like Rinkah, RevOdin and Laslow are, but if you have him in your party, you'll also have Kaze and Kagero, and both are better choices unless you're not using master seals

The AI is easy to manipulate by design, enemies playing like players would be retarded they’d just form a big ball and run into you because they don’t care about resource management.

I find it interesting that there's a good number of anons that don't like the idea of higher customization options for their armies. I know that some people enjoy the "work with what you have" aspect of FE, but I dunno, I feel like that kind of power makes the game much more replayable and strategic. Granted, that's if the classes are balanced well..

Attached: 1550108355981.png (1920x1080, 2.17M)

She has the most normal interactions with Hinata in Revelations. It was quite stunning how not once was blood or murder mentioned.

The way characters don't really have a defined area the same way in every other FE, characters would come as a class, like mercenary or cavalier or mage, and while there'd be differences like one mage excelling in durability or one excelling in speed or offensive output, the 3Houses guys more just kind of exist as some kind of infinite potential unit that you eventually just grind into something, the same way Gaiden/Echoes had a bunch of your early party start out as villagers.

Honestly that was the big appeal of FE for me, especially its 3DS incarnations, over other SRPG franchises. Every scales linearly and doesn't involve a bunch of filler grinding, since you only go up to level 40(20 unpromoted/20 promoted), and it was more about how you'd build the characters you had into something that synergized with the rest of your A-team, instead of just grinding a bunch of squires into knight ninjas with hokuto no calculus.

Attached: linhardt.jpg (1319x633, 96K)

>tfw remember being really excited for Revelations due to the promise of getting to play around with all the classes at once
>tfw made mental notes all the way through BR and CQ about possible cool shit and synergies between classes on the two sides
>mfw ackshually played Rev

Attached: 1552657776593.jpg (531x385, 128K)

Yea it's almost like she could have been a much better character if they didn't focus entirely on the "wacky killer" part of her. Or at the very fucking least treated it like a mental issue like in her Lazlow support.
Fucking hell they dropped the ball so hard with her, but I still love her.

Attached: 1531530488584.jpg (894x894, 223K)

>Mechanics introduced in Awakening are refined into a more thoughtful and deliberative mechanic like splitting pair up into two separate stances
They just stole support attack/support defense from Super Robot Wars.
