Well? Im waiting

it's only acceptable if you can make a build that increases the chance of crits. otherwise, it's retarded

stop being gay

Define reasonable?
Pre-determimed Crits can lead to too much predictability and stale gameplay. A little chaos can add a lot of excitement to the game

The way RPGs do random crits is fine.
The way shit like TF2 does random crits is retarded.

Before the autists can use this as an excuse later:
This thread is ABOUT TF2
Don't bring up Diablo 2 faggots

they are fun when you get them

For something to require a reasonable defense, it must have been deemed offensive in a reasonable way. Well OP? What's wrong with random crits?

Can't wait for another 300 post thread where the best thing shitters can come up with is "it's fun :'("

>TF2
lmao who even plays that boomer game anymore?

get overwatch and never worry about random crits again

I thought it was about assfaggots

I dont like to be instantly killed by random chance

This. Crit builds like Seven's in Xenoblade 1 are fun as fuck.

>make a thread about a dead game
?

Reasonable defense against crits? It's called dodging.

Random crits are good because some eceleb said they are bad and I have to be a contrarian retard.

Just wear armor that gives a defense bonus when you are critically hit. That seems like the most obvious defense, you fucking retard

Pseudorandom crits, i.e. how crits are implemented everywhere, really aren't "random chance".

It breaks through stall.

It's fine if the game isn't pvp

Random crits is to close the gap between good and bad players.
A good player would get the kill with or without the crit. A bad player might get lucky and actually kill the good player.

if games had no RNG for combat it would be very stale.

Maybe in the code its not but to the player you have no idea if your enemys next shot will melt you to dust

I always max out luck first so its all good

Crit filters out the shitters in smite. If the hunter on your team has exe, qins, crusher, warrior/ninja tabi he's probably good. A hunter with O-bow and deathbringer is a guaranteed shitter

Doesn't surprise me that the users on this website would know anything about fun

It can happen to you.
It can happen to them.
The amount of times you've been crit is nearly the same as the amount of times you've gotten crits.

But you do. Pseudorandom crits are pretty predictable, that's the point.

Random crits > Pseudorandom crits
Prove me wrong

called it here:

the only reasonable argument I've ever heard is they make it more fun for new player and players who are bad. The cost benefit of the experience against experienced/better players is negligible when compared to the life of a community as a whole, new players bring more new players thus leads to more servers/revenue/players.

Imho if you want to complain about game play mechanics complain about snipers being able to consistently oneshot people with no counter play besides play sniper
