Because pc gaming is where the hobby goes to die. Games are cheap on steam and you piracy is extremely easy, thus you end up with hundreds of shit games you'll never play because choice paralysis is actually a thing, plus the platform is extremely distracting with the web at the reach of a click. When I only played on consoles I would appreciate every single game to their full extent, now I just take a glance at my fucking huge steam library and go back to Yea Forums instead.
