he's alright when he acts like a clown, but everytime he tried being serious it was a total disaster, because his opinions are mostly shit and he's just good for off-hand commentary and playing around.

There's been a mild shift in his humor development as he's been growing up and maturing. He's no longer that "weird" kid who was making funny dumb videos because he enjoyed it (mainly focused around league, but no more). He has curated his humour into a type of brand, and he is pressured to follow it to a T, because thats how the views and money rake in.
He's much more dependent on it now for income, and his reviews cause controversy. Which is notoriety. Which is views. Which is threads.
His change in lifestyle is for the better, going to get married and all, but I can't help but miss the little screaming shithead who got scammed by a twitch thot. I still prefer his much older videos, but maybe I should grow up too.

Honestly, it's unironically this. He does (or did) what every comedy reviewer does, you start making more and more serious reviews, and when someone confronts you about an opinion of yours they disliked you play it off as a joke. You also kinda start realizing that the guy has some pretty bland and generic tastes
