EA forecasts 6m sales for Anthem in six weeks

>Electronic Arts expects between five and six million sales for Bioware's Anthem before the end of the fiscal year.
>The fiscal year ends on March 31, 2019, and EA CFO Blake Jorgensen told the company's investors that it has modelled between five and six million sales for Anthem by that date.

Meanwhile in the real world...500 viewers on twitch, the LEAD producer took off to his brother's """wedding""" 10 days ago, the roadmap they posted was literally all lies because they haven't added a single thing from it and we're a month into the launch now.
Yea Forums often talks about TORtanic, but this is genuinely worse. Six years in development, hundreds of million spent on both developing and marketing and it's COMPLETELY dead within its first month.

How did this happen? Why is nobody talking about this?

it's your own fault for buying this obvious heap of trash, fuck off

Because it's not worse than TOR, and you're stupid thinking as such. Nobody cares.

>Why is nobody talking about this?
It's old news already and unlike Fallout 76 or the TORtanic which were constant streams of entertainment due to over-the-top nonsense, Anthem is just dull and sad.

Because FUCK EA.

They had this coming.

>Yea Forums often talks about TORtanic, but this is genuinely worse.
well TOR made massive profit over time

>anthem flops
>division 2 flops

Are "Games As A Service" finally dying? I think people are finally getting sick of being delivered half-finished games with the promise of it being fixed later.

>Yea Forums often talks about TORtanic, but this is genuinely worse.
You weren't there for TOR release, this isn't even even close.

Its a literal vehicle for loot crates, its a mobile game with a much larger scope and budget. It was never intended to be anything but a platform for microtransactions.

>How did this happen?
Entire game design changed mid development. If this is Bioware being bad or EA forcing a loot shooter in their portfolio we will never know.
The entire road map got scraped because the game needs at least another year of patches and reworks, like Rainbow Six Siege or Division1, until it becomes playable.

Div 2 flopped?

Dumb fuck, TOR was a success over time and ALMOST EXACTLY what a Bioware MMO should be.

>good class storylines better than anything disney created.
>good voice acting
> decent group content
>raids
>tons of loot and barbie dress up customization

Anthem has NONE of that. Absolutely none. It is an abomination and the final proof that old bioware is dead and nuBioware is full of literally talentless sjw hacks.

Anthem is unironically worse than Mass Effect Andromeda.

There's definitely normie consumer fatigue with the consistent lack of quality / finished games. That's kind of amazing to me because they've been eating this shit up for years. I guess if you subpar garbage for long enough even they will stop buying it.

GUESS WHAT?

the next Dragon Age game also had its entire design changed mid development.

Shit confirmed.

Isn't this basically EA declaring death sentence on Bioware?

a stat based grinding shooter game without a stat page for your character .........................................................................................................................

Attached: 20yoboomer5.jpg (93x63, 3K)

I'd fucking love to know how many copies they sold. I'm guessing a minimum of 1.5 mill and max 2.5 million.

Its only been out a few days. Too soon to say.

Hopefully though.

That's because Anthem is the Who's Line is it Anyway of loot shooters.

I doubt they intended to kill Bioware with this, but they'll sure as fuck use it as an excuse to.

is that including the copy that come with the Origins subs?

I forgot EA did that. Did they actually offer Anthem with the sub?

This. That shit was the gift that just kept on giving.

Attached: 1373236345836.jpg (883x631, 79K)

It gets funnier. The stats mean nothing to begin with. The numbers thrown around have nothing to do with actual damage and your starting gear are stronger than any later gear.

TORtanic had the added salt from both KOTOR crowd who wanted a single player RPG and the Galaxies crowd who wanted their old comfy MMO saved.
There was poetic justice in the failure of TOR.

Anthem is just EA and Bioware being trash again. After ME3 and after Andromeda people just wrote them off.

>tripfag
filtered

yea thats how I got my copy. It was literally buy our sub, play Anthem early!

Wow, its almost as if the game were nothing but a treadmill for cosmetics like the rancid diarrhea you see on smartphones!

I thought that they have fixed that?

If you weren't new to Yea Forums, you would have seen his trip long ago.

>hopefully

Why? Div 2 is fine

Stanley pls

Imagine being the dumbass who convinced your group of friends to get the Anthem over The Division 2.

Attached: 1550675244609.png (637x588, 18K)

Based EA about to shut down Bioshit

So Ubi will quit this "games as a service" crap too.

>filtering Boco

Go back to ribbit you poser.

>its almost as if the game were nothing but a treadmill for cosmetics
They failed even at that. One of the most popular complaint is the fact that everything looks the fucking same.

Theres literally 3 cosmetic looks per armor suit

ITS FUCKING PATHETIC. Mass Effect Andromeda is kino compared to this.

Hes not wrong, TOR collapsed hilariously but in retrospect its decent. Its biggest failing is that its gameplay is a WoW knockoff which is as braindead as it comes.

>tripfag takes off his trip to defend himself
I've been on Yea Forums for over 7 years and actually have seen your trip before, just never bothered to respond to you until today.
Either way it doesn't matter, won't be seeing you again and no more (you)s.
To anyone watching: The best way to deal with obnoxious tripfags is to filter them. They tripfag to seek attention, so by filtering, they will actually end up with less attention.
It makes them seethe enormously inside (hence why he replied to me twice).

about to buy a new graphics card, some offer gives me this game for free with the card.

is it even worth the space?

if that means 6m sales overall till March 31 2019, maybe
normalfags auto purchase shit

Ge Force GT 520 video card

Holy hell, NO.

Basically

All over again.

Gotta love how Visceral knew it was gonna happen, so they ended 3 with the implied extinction of humanity.

This
No DX12 support.
Game is a scam

Already did. Thanks!

>TOR was a success over time
It became ok over a year after release. We it was hilariously broken on release, by far worse than Anthem. Thing is, anything can be salvaged if you put enough effort into it. Won't happen with Anthem, but it's theoretically possible.

>bundled with RTX cards
>doesnt even support DLSS or any RTX features

>loading screens for literally everything

Unlike tor anthem is completely unsalvageable.

Tbh the smartest thing EA could do is overhaul TOR and release it for consoles. They are retarded though and wont do it, like mass effect remastered.

I was there for release and TOR didn't have anywhere near the technical issues and shallowness of Anthem in comparison. The biggest issue with TOR at launch was huge server queues and crashes due to the sheer amount of people trying to log in and play. WoW had the same problem.
Anthem on the other hand, has more menus to go through than JRPGs to get anything done, is much less stable in terms of bugs, had load times of 5+ minutes, etc, etc.

I dunno. Apparently some new lead in SWTOR has been talking about new engine coming.

lmao about this

Attached: 1552238331229.jpg (1241x740, 292K)

Nobody is talking because it’s just that fucking boring.

Who the fuck is boco and why should anyone care about a tripfa?

Sure but Div 2 is actually pretty good

>"games as a service" crap
But it's nice to know devs will actually support the game and already have content planned to be released.

Attached: 3505772-8181765760-y1-pa.jpg (960x540, 75K)

It's just a tripfag replying to himself to pretend people care about him in the hopes someone actually will

the funniest thing is that the level 1 warden you start out with turned out to be the best weapon in the game, doing more damage than the legendary version at endgame.
I am telling you guys, Anthem is worse then TORtanic.
exactly. TORtanic had a decent foundation so over time they could fix it. Plus the stories and voice acting was always good. Anthem has literally not a single good thing going with it, except for maybe flying?

Yeah, to Ubi's credit they've never been as scummy as EA. Usually. Hopefully if this game does do well, EA won't look at it and go "see, we can keep doing it".

heard about that crap, didnt they fixed it tho?

Even ignoring the hundreds of issues with gear/loot/LMAO3000% health scaling anyone with a brain should have instantly known the game would be trash because THERE IS BARELY ANY FUCKING GAME

Once you hit level cap you have the "privilege" of running the only three dungeons the game has over and over and over. Except one dungeon was in the demo and the other is literally just the final boss mission, and none of them have any unique drops

You have to be A FUCKING MORON to spend $60 on a game that has NOTHING TO DO. Wow great you can run the same three missions over and over again in order to... Do the same three missions you already did?

Of course 30 IQ shills and redditors didn't realize that ONLY THREE MISSIONS, NO PVP, NO RAIDS, NO REPEATABLE STORY MISSIONS, NOTHING would get boring instantly and so they still paid for fucking nothing.

It's barely a fucking game

my man, EA makes so much money from their sports MTX they dont even care if every other game they launch is a failure. The entire company is held together buy a group of sports niggers around the world buying those ultimate packages every single year. Literally billions they make on that shit

How about you just fucking release a full game?

based and everything is fine and nothing is wrong pilled

Sad but true.

And they only sell because EA bought up the NFL license, literally making it impossible for anyone else to try. They're such a bunch of dicks.

this is some templeOS or Timecube tier math

they spent the first 2 weeks insisting the health bug (you spawn with a random amount of health in this game, I am not even joking) was actually just a visual one until they finally realized it wasn't and the lead producer tweeted this. This guy also just completely disappeared like two weeks ago, the lead guy in charge of fixing this shit.
They havent fixed shit, gear doesnt matter, stats and numbers are made up etc etc. The very core of the game is BROKEN.

Attached: lmaaaaaaaaaaao.jpg (678x313, 68K)

yet I still see people saying "Dont know about you guys, but I'm having a blast with the game". It begs the question: How the fuck are you having a blast with the game?

I'd rather them release a solid foundation and add upon it for a couple years than having a piece of shit rushed out. You can cry all you want about finished games on release but you and I both know those days are over and I'd take longevity over shovelware any day.

Trying to convince themselves they didn't piss away money.

>curated twenty three max bump limit threads praising Anthem and fending off anti shills
>stopped playing anthem on day 4 and haven't looked back
I seriously hope no one remembers how hard I shilled for this game for years to come. I'm not sorry, but I also don't feel too good about it.

Glad I only spent $14 on the Origins sub. I played the game till I hit level 8 and realize what a garbage the game is.

Its a sad day when even Nintendo has had to release patches for bugs in their games lately.

fucking kek

>Getting filtered by a shill.

No. Thank you.

You have the one that compares the content of Anthem vs Destiny 1 ???
That shit is Hilarious.

Attached: 1552791312478.jpg (500x480, 33K)

Not really. Games are getting more complex and most games released years ago were also pretty buggy but had no means of fixing them, but it was sort of okay back then since there was no way for people to massively share faults in a game to everyone so most issues went ignored.

No. But now I have to search for that shit

I don't know I'm laughing my ass off to the point I almost (ALMOST) feel sorry for Bioware. It's like kicking a retarded child while he's down. How the fuck does this happen?

Attached: 1462301961278.jpg (5000x5000, 1.2M)

second, I haven't seen that

You just made it funnier.

This is why the idea of scaling enemies is so fucking retarded and why hand placed meaningful upgrades and linear power progression is based. In an RPG it feels good to get the good gear and then thrash shit that used to give you trouble. This is impossible in the new world of scaling and it's hard to believe it started with Oblivion so far back.

>old rpg
>wolf has 50 hp at level 1
>wolf has 50 hp at level 28

>new rpg
>wolf has 50-70 hp at level 1 depending on your gear
>wolf has 3.5m - 4.5m hp at level 28 depending on your gear

You never actually feel stronger despite your numbers going up. Who cares if you do 26 damage with a shot or 300,000 damage with a shot if both hits deal 6% damage to an enemy's total life?

glad you guys had fun, because I enjoyed the ride anyways

While I don't like Ubi for copy pasting the same open world formula, I must admit I'm liking div 2 a lot more than 1.

The open world feels more alive, not just random groups of 4 enemies doing nothing. Now you see random events all the time and allied and enemy forces clashing without you doing anything.

If a checkpoint lacks resources, they actually send units to gather, both allies and enemies, and you can see the enemy convoys and intercept them to get the resources.

Division 2 is doing well, you liar. The only reviewers eating into it are Eurogamer and some no name faggot because it's "not political enough."

EA is selling the game dirt cheap right now. Like theres a freaking discount 2 weeks after it's release.

Wait, hold the phone, You're speaking as if level scaling has become the norm, what recent rpg games have them?

>Because it's not worse than TOR,
it literally is. Anthem characters stats are so bugged not even the dev team knows what's going on.

>someone posted this unironically.

Comparing it to TORtanic is a mistake because it wasn't just the bugs that made TOR so special. It was the overall rollercoaster of memes, the unending seething, the joy of witnessing absolute chaos that every day could go one way or the other.

Anthem's just a bad product, boring even in its objective failure. The ones obsessing over MUH TOR 2.0 are just zoom-zooms that weren't even alive during TORtanic and are desperate for a second coming.
That bring said Bioware deserve a big, fat, wet DING DONG BANNU

END OF RINE ---------------- RINE ENDS HERE

Ha. That's gonna hurt em even more. People who bought it at full price will be pissed.

They aren't though. There were discounted keys for a while on 3rd party websites that went down to 40 and then the Aussie amazon that Made a big discount. But the rest of the Amazons and official outlets aren't doing discounts at all. At least nothing worth mentioning. Some going for 45 instead of 60 but that's it

Fuck EA, let them choke on failure. It's more entertaining to give them no money.

I wish the Division wasn't so creatively dull. It's just a cover shooter where you play whack-a-mole over and over again.
>semi-future game with advanced tech and biological warfare
>all guns are just modern guns
>all enemies are just variations of humans
Even worse because they have Rainbow Six Siege to draw inspiration from. Why can't I use a flame thrower? Where is the sledgehammer weapon letting me destroy cover and knock enemies around? What about a grappling hook that allows me to quickly change altitudes and positions? Where are the trained dog enemies or mutated humans? Where are the different kind of mechs like spider drones that crawl on the wall and ceilings or concussive blast flying drones that disorient you?

I still remember that post on the TORtanic forums where some dude tried to prove with math horribly garbage math that players leaving the game was a good thing for the games growth. What a crazy ass time.

There was nothing funny about Anthem. There were no hilarious bugs or glitches. It's just a meh game, with shit design decisions that makes everything a chore. And it has no content.

So basically it's so generic it's not even worth shitposting about.

Anthem did nothing that other looter-shooters haven't done already.

Bioware hasn't made a decent game since the corporate buyout. It's dead Jim.

Boco, shut the fu-

Wait...you're actually right this time. Way to go, buddy!

>Common 30

How can you fail so hard at making a lootshooter?
>End game is enemies being Bullet Sponges times 3000
bravo

This cant be real, I refuse to believe this crap

I yearn for a simpler time when a Mass media hype'd, big budget title from a AAA publisher would be released and it would be merely bad.

I hope you find it user.
I could't find it anymore.

It can't be worse than Borderlands right?

Cyberpunk 2077 will be the redemption arc for vidya

>they haven't added a single thing
Um ACTUALLY, you can now launch a mission from anywhere in the tiny city by hitting a button instead of walking over to it.

Borderlands if I recall had loot locked to your level or a level you were about to get.
Plus they at least had visual variety.

>the roadmap they posted was literally all lies because they haven't added a single thing from it
can you elaborate, or link to the roadmap
lol anthemtards btfo

>Cybersun
>redeeming anything

this
giving money for this shit, you deserve a bullet to the head, Christchurch mosque style

It is categorically worse than TOR in every conceivable way.

It will sell a crapload of copies regardless of its quality and you know it. CDPR at the moment is considered the saviour of human kind by every single normalfag walking this earth

oh they got variety up the ass

yea people like him who disappear deserve to be found and murdered violently, with their family and kids

Actually I was there in every tortanic thread, and I played tor. Anthem is literqlly just unplayable dogshit with absolutely no redeeming qualities, just boring dull trash. That is why nobody even bothers shitposting about it. It is unwatchable, unplayable, unfun trash with absolute dogshit writing, story, quests, loot, enemies. BLAND AND BORING like a big pile of fucking beige paste.

TOR actually had interesting locations to explore, functuonal wow-like loot and set system, decent to good writing such as the imperial agent quest line. Anthem is a fucking abomination.

Post your favorite TORtanic shitposts, and wonder why Anthem didnt even inspire us to make Shitposts about it.

youtube.com/watch?v=9P2zkzXX3XE

Attached: 1550947347291.jpg (1140x1424, 610K)

because even biodrones aren't defending anthem.

It's so they can fuck you without you knowing a thing. That's why Destiny 2 had an unmarked EXP bar.

The one that said people leaving is just making space for more people to join?
I’m pretty sure that guy was a troll trying to see how stupid he could be before he got called out.

Did anyone find this in the end????

>Purchasing EA titles
OH EMM GEE I HELD MY TESTICLES OVER AN OPEN FLAME AND NOW THEY'RE BURNED WTF BROS WHY DID NO-ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS!?

Attached: ZOwuXqh.png (744x615, 13K)

>to Ubi's credit they've never been as scummy as EA.
True, but even a grinding autist like myself got burnt out mid-Odyssey after playing Far Cry 5 just a few months before. Say what you will about Ubi not being as scummy as EA, continuing to release open world games crammed full of shit to collect, and P2W micro-transactions, with the only noticeable difference being the weapons available for use (which is because they have to fit the time/setting more than actual creativity), and the perspective you play from, is lazy. Yes, everyone in the industry make games that fit that description, but few developers make as many games built on the same generic chassis, that has consumed the genre individuality of their pre-existing previously differentiated franchises, only to leave behind husks of what they used to be that are closer in similarity now than how they remain different. EA and Konami may be peak industry scum, with EA taking the cake because of the financial muscle they can flex that facilitates the massive bulk of their scum, but whether it just be lazy, or intentional for the purpose of training/acquiring developmental talent with a broader Venn talent overlap to make it easier to pull from the same pool so they can allocate human resource more easily to different projects to more quickly churn out product, Ubi is becoming increasingly scummy as well.

What's the worst vidya company right now? Blizzard-Activision, EA, or Konami?

If every game is designed to be played for months to a year, consumers are gonna be picky. Especially with fortnite and apex on the market.

It was never a bug and it can't be fixed because that's the way the game works. They lowered the starting weapon's damage to make the other weapons look better but the progression is still completely fake.

Literally why

I WANTED TO BELIEVE ANDROMEDA WAS MADE BY A B TEAM

Because we get a new TORtanic every other week until summer. Every game is unfinished, mtx filled fucking mess that exists to generate views for shitty clickbait jounolists on YouTube and gaming blogs.

Anthem is shit, no one cares about it because givin it any attention at all attracts the worst kind of retards, the people who'd throw money at EA just to get in on a fucking meme.

Just let the games as a service model die out already. Consumers have already started to catch on that they're all incredibly repetitive borefests.

Turns out their B team is better than their A team

>randomly generated starting health

How the fuck is that possible? How would you ever accidentally add a random number generator to that calculation?

I’m not a game developer, but shouldn’t starting health be just addition and multiplication of hard coded numbers? Where the fuck do you put a random? Unless they didn’t initialize their constants?

>your starting gear are stronger than any later gear
This has been disproven. What's really going on is that level 1-30 gear doesn't get averaged to your power level while level 31-75 gear does. From what I've read, this average factors directly to your melee and ultimate. It's a disaster no matter how you look at this game.

EA bar none.

Attached: gxR7ACI.png (1112x1072, 297K)

>fortnite and apex
Can you play these without having to interact with other players? I hate depending on others and vice versa.

Attached: 1551595327752.jpg (770x796, 138K)

You can go lone wolf and win the game for your team.

The point of the game is not to be enjoyable but to encourage microtransactions, if your character dies too quickly from time to time no matter how much you increase your health or put on armor then you're more likely to buy a defense power up, it's the same with the meaningless damage numbers, it's all meant to get the players addicted early on and then trigger their dopamine craving so they buy shit

Wrong, your average gear score determines how powerful you are because your average gear score is tied to an arbitrary multiplier.

So it's actually worse than that because it means the ENTIRE inscription system is fucking worthless beyond Javelin wide DMG increases, melee damage for Interceptors and pure elemental increases. It's a problem because every live service shitty game tries to rely on having scaling difficulty so it's nothing but mechanicless number inflation. You'll never satisfyingly two pop trash enemies unless you get some absolute bullshit gun. Trash mobs will only ever get tankier and elite enemies become joyless chores to DPS down.

>Unless they didn’t initialize their constants?
We got a CSCI 101 guy over here

>imagine getting either and proud posting
See name.

It’s still selling too much to kill Zombie BioWare. FUCK!

I don't think you newfags realize what made TOR TOR

>500 million dollar budget
>Star wars
>MMO

It was a huge established franchise, huge lucrative genre at the time, back when EA had a shit rep but not as shitty as it is now, you'd think there's no way they could fuck up such an easy thing but they did it spectacularly. On top of all that you have the star wars fanboys AND you had EA staff which bad the entire thing even more hilarious, I still remember that post with the guy with an overpriced best buy PC who listed all his specs right now to his shitty monitor and that 'DING DONG BANNU, END OF RINE' meme.
Then you have anthem, a brand new IP published by EA, a company no one has trusted in years, produced bioware post mass effect 3 and andromeda.

You can't compare the two

Usually Bioware threads are hilarious on Yea Forums, but Anthem was so generic and boring even the Yea Forums threads had nothing amusing in them.

Pic related is the only thing in all these threads I found mildly amusing.

woops

although not posting an image is a valid answer as well

Attached: 15304715741548.jpg (853x909, 136K)

>>Yeah, to Ubi's credit they've never been as scummy as EA
They're the same exact shit. 100 variations of the same game all with different DLCs, shitloads of microtranscations in single player games and they shit out sequel after sequel every year. They only good thing about them is post-launch support for shit like RS6, for honor, etc.

is twitch viewers the yard stick by which we measure games' success?

Fortnite - Just stick to the solos modes

Apex - You kinda need to work with your squad to win as the game is centered around team work, but as the user below said you can lone wolf it but it will be harder.

I like how this is constantly posted and people still fall for it. The post was literally made by a guy from Yea Forums fucking around on the tor forums.

the only hilarious thing about anthem is that none of the stats matter and everything is controlled by scaling and gear score, all the stats are just 1 big lie.

Wasn't there some issue with endgame gear, though?

Yeah, but Division 2 is a finished game. You could spend 40 hours on a pretty decent single player experience, minus the turret bugs.

based
cringe

Their game didn't handle any of the constants correctly. That's the strangest aspect, as you'd think the math would be the very core of a game like Anthem. Even if they developed this game in six months, the power level growth and health should be on lock down. It wasn't. Anthem was clearly developed by people who have no basic foundation in creating a game.

the drop rates suck, that's all I know and now there's a rumor that you get better drops by having higher gear score

I'm 90% sure the health bug is due to scaling fucking some shit up. Also gear that increases shields doesn't increase shields, gear that increases armor does but no one could figure that out without some autistic testing because scaling dictates everything which makes theorycrafting incredibly difficult.

>>Div 2 flopped?
Compared to the predecessor, yes

Right. I had heard that there was some sort of issue that temporarily made the droprate much higher than normal, and when the actual rates were revealed, the playerbase was pretty unhappy.

>Fucking MH and Kingdom Hearts sell more in 3 days than EA latest's 200-bazillion dollars AAA GaaS in two months
JAPAN GOOD

Attached: eee.jpg (647x740, 44K)

>Mass Effect Andromeda failed to kill BioWare
>Anthem will fail to kill BioWare

This company is fucking invincible

you cant build towards or craft anything in the direction you want. Bosses dont have loot tables and crafting and drops are all RNG. Theres minimal player agency in this game

yeah that's happened twice now, the drop rates were bugged and it was raining high quality loot and then they fixed it and people got pissed
funny how the good bugs get patched so fast

I think DA III is gonna finish it off

>Electronic Arts expects between five and six million sales for Bioware's Anthem before the end of the fiscal year.

why? because they spent $1mil getting Ninja to shill their game?

Attached: 1540002533932.jpg (835x773, 333K)

you're thinking of apex
I don't think anyone got paid to play anthem considering the viewership was pretty shitty at launch

Twice? What a way to run a railroad.

Div 2 bros unite!

>500 viewers on twitch
Can we stop using this as any sort of meaningful metric yet?

>actually had fun with it for a couple hours in the beta and was thinking purchasing
>decided to wait a couple days after the beta to hear if my bro is gonna do the same
>end up forgetting and never get around to buying it
>mfw seeing all this shit

Dodged a bullet there lads.
I'm still disappointed though, it had been looking so good. I really wanted it to be good.

Attached: bob.png (584x628, 719K)

Sure. Plenty of non-advertised games get more than that whenever Jerma starts a stream.

You're not alone, user. Still, there are plenty of other games to play with your friends. I'm having fun with the crew in Deep Rock Galactic, myself.

Can we get some bioware forum gems? They always make my day.

Like reviewers are at all trustworthy.
Ubi games are like eating a cake made of entirely of fondant icing. Deliciously sweet at first, and really impressive looking, but ultimately forgettable, and if you eat too much, you'll get a tummyache. But it's ok, because the next cake will be available in about 6 months, just in time to have forgotten the tummyache the last one caused.

I played SWTOR casually for the first month. And it was enjoyable, as I hit max level right before the month was over. I've played Anthem for a few hours a day for 3 days and got bored of it. Have I changed? Probably, but I found Anthem just plain up boring.

MAYBE I'M FOOLISH

Games as a service is alive but there's a hard limit on how many of them can be alive at a time because of the inherent properties of games as a service. Someone can buy 10 games but they aren't going to sustain 10 games as a service, they are gonna pick their favorite 1/2 and stick to it because if the new item isn't mindblowing the sunk cost will win out.

SWTOR probably has way more content than anthem
All anthem is is: campaign/contracts/freeplay which are all basically the same shit with different dressing, 3 strongholds

You'd think the big open world map would be good for content but it's not especially if you're solo, it's probably the worst open world game I've seen since you can't interact with anything that's not a collectible or an enemy

Normally I'd say no, but for games that are primarily multiplayer and games as a service that encourage and reward grind and/or skill, twitch viewership is a good indication of:
1) general community interest (streamers going to play popular games for larger viewer numbers and viewers tune in to see things they can't have or are currently working towards)
2) game quality--popular streamers taking interest in a game because it's fun can have a significant impact on the game's popularity via the standard advertising routes of "audience sees someone having fun, maybe I'll have fun if I play it?" route.

Yeah, good point.

They're not going anywhere, the catch is that there's too many of them and the nature of GAAS means people will stick with one for years. Games as a product is easier for people to go through and move on.
