To be fair, the horned helmet is really cool. There's a reason it's such a common convention in Digimon designs.
If you want to go authentic, I'd recommend playing one of the v-pet emulators around. But for full games, the best options seems to be Digimon World 1, Re:Digitize and Next Order.
