F/GO kind of put a wrench into everything, halting just about all things TM barring licenced third party stuff where the third party took the initiative.
The reason we don't already have Melty Blood HD is because they didn't want to spend countless work hours doing HD assets, only for their Melty Blood to be instantly outdated with the Tsukihime remake changing everything. Only, the Tsukihime remake never came out, so they had nothing to base Melty Blood HD on.

The very reason they ever even did Under Night In-Birth was because they felt like they couldn't do Melty Blood HD with the Tsukihime remake around the corner. They wanted to familiarize themselves with HD development, and they also still wanted to make a game and not just sit on their asses.
Who knows what they're planning today since that was so long ago already, but initially they were planning to jump straight back to Melty Blood the moment the Tsukihime remake got off the ground.

How about a Carnival Phantasm fighting game. Just Tsukihime and Fate characters with either UNIST or MB gameplay, would be happy with either one. Only gripe I have with UNIST is the supers aren't as awesome as MB's ex.

With Nasu I'm tempted to say it's less about money (Unless he feels like he owes it to Takeuchi) and more if dropped something he had an interest in it's because of the platform.
