The fun of games with a variety of options like Dark Souls is that you get to have fun trying many of them out and settling on a weapon you feel comfortable with, then trying the other ones out on different playthroughs. Trying to get people to go with some meta build just because it gets the game over with faster misses the point of having variety, it's not really helping them so much as it is making them game less impressive to them.
