SNES

Mega Drive

ps1 is SNES 2.0

Unironically true

PS1 > PS2 > PS4 > Nogames3

By that definition, no PS2 is.
Since PS2 is just a PS1 with more hardware attached.

Then ps3s with emotion engine would be

Not quite, but you're on the mark.
The original PS3 that was cancelled and redesigned at the last moment, was in fact the same, it was a PS2 with more hardware attached.
PS3 that was released wasn't though, the first models still had some of the PS2 hardware only for back compat, but it was removed later.

Originally PS3 had 2 Cell processors, no nvidia GPU and still had all the PS2 hardware (which it needed).
VDP was die shrunk (you can see that in the released PS3's with VDP) and could be run at over 800mhz but otherwise was similar to PS2. EE was present as a sound processor.
3D would mostly have been done on the SPEs (since they're effectively just big SIMD engines, ie. what modern GPUs are) with some lesser 3D along with 2D stuff rendered by VDP, with all rasterization handled by VDP.

Someday one of these machines is going to turn up in the wild...

SNES = PS2 = DS > Rest > PS1 > N64

Forgot, Xbone after N64.

snes overrated and DS is too high

ugh thanks for reminding me of that disgusting filter n64 had

Looked just fine on my CRT desu senpai
Better than jaggy ass PS1 textures jittering around,

Nope, all three have fantastic libraries.

id rather have decent 3d and great 2d than blurry 3d and no 2D but ya n64 did look pretty decent on s-video

this but unironically
as far as I know, Sony partnered with Nintendo a contract to create a CD-ROM addon for the SNES console. The contract they sold to Nintendo however would sell their entire company to Sony, so Nintendo refused. Sony didn't take this and designed its own PlayStation 1.
Pic related.

DESU I didn't miss 2D games at the time because I already played the fuck outta my SNES and Genesis, so 3D was still blowing my mind at the time, but even I have to admit that a lot of the 2D games on the PS1 were stellar. It sucked ass at 3D mind you, but when people went for sprite work on that gay little machine it could work wonders, Symphony of the Night is still one of the best looking games ever made

I waa dissapointed by it. The polygon 3D games were ugly compared to the lovely 2D sprites of the 4th gen consoles. The nostalgia for 5th gen stuff is strange to me.

>disgusting filter
You mean the filter that’s so beneficial that Nintendo hold a patent for it?

*blocks your path*
