Just beat DMC 5. Excellent time all around, starting over immediately.
But I’m torn about Nero’s new “situation” at the end of the game. I thought we were going somewhere thematically with Nero fighting with one arm and finding he didn’t need the Demon heritage to be a hero. I feel like a lot of that development is dropped by what happens with him at the end and now he’s just like the previous protags. It doesn’t ruin anything for me, I’m just maybe a little disappointed it went in that direction. I guess we won’t be seeing devil breakers again?
As far as devil breakers go, Nico just modifies them to fit over his hand.
Jack Adams
the ending was gay.
but who cares about story in a video game? lol
Brandon Howard
I just wonder how long it will take for Yea Forums to realize it. really nothing good about it, even the breakers was dumb, that technology puts MGS to shame. fucking retarded.
Asher Myers
>What are your thoughts on this? Op is a fag samefaggot
Juan Cox
Take your meds bro.
Nathan Cox
Who gives a shit about the story? It has the best gameplay out of any action game in the past decade and that's enough for me. Besides, if you didn't see Nero getting a DT after his fucking theme song having the lyrics "pull my devil trigger" as part of the chorus then you have no one to blame but yourself for being blindsided. His DT mechanics at the end of the game are insanely fun. Juggling opponents with the ghost arms while holding a max act streak then releasing at the right time or ragtiming then pulling all your opponents to you with DT snatch then doing showdown feels amazing. I'm having a lot of fun finding out different combinations to do with him. I just found out that you can spam the ghost punches while riding Punchline too.
Aaron Garcia
>I thought we were going somewhere thematically with Nero fighting with one arm and finding he didn’t need the Demon heritage to be a hero Nigger fucken what. You are reading too much into this.
Xavier Scott
>Similar filename. >both wall of text. >both shitting on nero. >Same nero scene. Take you meds barry.
Lincoln Ortiz
If this thread is about story and themes and shit, I have a question for the floor: Is vergil going to be like a "we all like him" good guy now? Even though he just killed half of london in a really horrific way because he wanted gains?
Brayden Lopez
Action game stories are only one step above fighting game stories. You play them because they're fun and you just hope the story is also enjoyable the same way watching 80s action movies are fun.
Andrew Garcia
it would have been better if urizen and v where their own characters and vergil´s motivation >heh for coming back wasnt just to kill dante.
Ethan Nguyen
My main issue with the plot is that it rushes too fast after 17. I'd be cool with dante and vergil in hell and the final fights if they padded things out a bit.
Ethan Gonzalez
>literally a paranoid schizophrenic
Easton Martinez
The Qliphoth happens every few thousand years on its own, Vergil was just there to sap its power and claim the fruit.
He doesn't even need "gauntlet" devil breakers, he can just phase his right arm away to make space. It also says so in the character section (press L/R to switch to his new-arm model).
Grayson Baker
there's only one way it would have been good. i'll lay it out for ya
vergil comes back and takes nero's arm and instantly becomes a bad ass once again
nero bleeds to death
don't really care what happens after that, 10/10 story right here
Bro I'm not kidding, you're acting like a fucking psycho. Even if it was the same guy(it obviously isn't) why are you sperging about it? You unironically need help.
Charles Scott
V severely needs to be able to read mid air or something. The charging is too slow compared to taunts or just JC cane attacks. He needs more familiars too. Hes so close to being as fun as Nero/Dante but his skill ceiling is so fucking low
Charles Garcia
>I thought we were going somewhere thematically with Nero fighting with one arm and finding he didn’t need the Demon heritage to be a hero Are you retarded? We've seen humans in the DMC world and they don't go surfing around on rocket punches and wahooing through a barrage of lasers aimed at them. The only one that pulls off anything close to that is Lady, and she's still not completely normal because she's a descendant of the priestess helped seal the demon world. Not to mention canonically she's never killed anything more threatening than the average low ranking demon. Nero always had the demon power boosting his abilities.
His theme has always been about his need for a family.
Michael Carter
you forgot >YOU CANNOT KILL ME
Nathaniel Young
Sounds like they didn't follow your extremely specific and absolutely autistic guidelines. Absolutely fucking unplayable, fucking Crapcom.
Ethan Richardson
Wait for all the hype to vanish then we will see.
Nicholas Gomez
>His theme has always been about his need for a family. nigger please he just wanted some pussy in the first game, he basically killed his so-called family. dmc5's themes were all fucking retarded.
>I guess we won’t be seeing devil breakers again? did you play the game? And where did you get all that nonsense of not needing the demon heritage to be a hero? That was never alluded to ever
Landon Lopez
You already got people saying the story wasn't that great anyway, if there's more after a few weeks, only time would tell >even the breakers was dumb, How so
Jonathan Hernandez
Throughout the game before the ending Nero sacrifices crystallised blood to a lion-headed goddess for special magical abilities (such as materialising a spectral platform to jump on mid-air) and all of Nico's breakers incorporate devil magic just like her grandma's guns. The sole reason Nero can do the vast majority of the stuff he does is because he's a descendant of Sparda. Either way even with his DT and ghost arm back he's still more 'human' than either Dante or Vergil, his weapons aren't devil arms and he still uses the breakers, so that theme is still there, but this idea that he wasn't going to rely on his demonic heritage was only in your head.
Kevin Lopez
>My main issue with the plot is that it rushes too fast after 17. It bothered me, too, but it makes sense once you realize that the protagonist of the game is actually V.
The story is over once he merges with Urizen, and the last three missions are just one long, interactive ending.
This is the second time he's done it and both times Dante didn't really want to kill him. In 3 he tried to pull him back to the human world, in 5 he tried to take Yamato off him before deciding they had to fight. He's at least got the sense to keep an eye on him at all times. Nero's just broken inside and wants a family. We don't know how everyone else will feel about it but I'm guessing Lady won't be his biggest fan.
The Qliphoth happens on its own in the demon world. It hasn't broken through to the human world in over 2000 years, it was Urizen and Yamato that allowed it passage.
Jordan Howard
Literally sci-fi 1000 years into the future technology that can stop time, shoot massive beams, and more. Made by a fucking trailer trash autistic whore?
Gameplay wise they should have let you stash 4-8 and swap them with the d-pad, so its dumb that way too.
Brody Powell
Why
Jaxon Wright
>Literally sci-fi 1000 years into the future technology that can stop time, shoot massive beams, and more Ground work's already there with Agnus' stuff, not to mention items like the bangle of time or demon guns. I'm not really as bothered by the breakers as say the other plot problems in the games. Barring the issue of "will she sell that shit to anyone"?
Jose James
>nigger please he just wanted some pussy in the first game, he basically killed his so-called family. dmc5's themes were all fucking retarded. Kyrie and Credo are his whole family. He doesn't give a fuck about anything or anyone else. When Agnus kidnaps Kyrie he spends the rest of the game KYRIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEING because they took half of his family away from him. People forget that Kyrie isn't just his waifu, she's his sister, fucked up as that may be.
Aaron Hall
But I get what you mean in terms of it being jarring with who makes it
Justin Reed
They're made out of demon parts, dumbass.
Anthony Butler
It's pretty obvious to me that the game's plot was just an elaborate, self-congratulatory way of contriving Vergil back into the series and in good standing with Dante. It's mostly just safe wheel-spinning. The character interactions are great, though. Dante referring to Vergil as "old douchebag" gets an S rank from me.
There are problems I have with the game, but the story for the most part isn't one of them. I thought it was fine. It doesn't set much up going forward, though. In fact, having Dante, Vergil, and Nero all seemingly on the same side is going to make it even harder than it already was for a convincing antagonist to appear going forward. I'm sure we'll get some kind of ancient evil. I'm not too interested in a sequel right now or anything, but it does make you wonder where the series could even go at this point. Satan as final boss with Michael tag-teaming? Angel May Laugh?
Man just because the game says that Agnus was some super scientist doesn't mean that isn't cop out writing. Agnus was researching how to open the hell gates and how to infuse demon spirits with inanimate objects or people. He wasn't making high technology that belongs in MGS 11. Dante also shot up his research in 4, Nico even getting it makes no sense. And yeah she could take over the world with that shit, it's retarded from the story angle.
And again, gameplay wise we should have been able to switch them. They're just like Dante's styles and you don't even need them for S ranking.
I know they are, why are they pretty much more powerful than devil arms themselves? And read above, its just dumb.
Juan Fisher
They could have done a much better job and fuck you the interactions were terrible.
>fuck you, you fucking asshole
Nathan Clark
We have no idea how much of the DMC technology is magic and how much is actual engineering, but considering the fact that all of the puzzle mechanisms in the previous games were canonically built by humans, the majority of which are from thousands of years ago, and the fact that time stopping technology was already a thing in DMC4, I'd say it's been at sci-fi 1000 years into the future level for quite a while.
Jacob Nelson
>no explaination based and redpilled
Jose Hall
>why are they pretty much more powerful than devil arms themselves Not really, maybe ragtime because it's quicksilver style or buster arm because it shits out larger damage than even Nero's new buster but even the shit we got in 5 generally seems stronger than the breakers
Thomas Thompson
You have to actually destroy them to do anything spectacular and they're fragile in general. Meanwhile Nero's sword is still going strong after years of hacking up demons.
Henry Long
>doesn't need demon heritage He always needed it, even without his devil trigger, his demon heritage plays a role. 100% Human bodies aren't as strong as demon bodies, Dante said so in DMC4.
Carson Barnes
>explaination
Zachary Myers
>abandoned him and him his mother to their luck >opened up a portal to the demon world that destroyed a city and killed everyone in it >twice >tricked him into helping him merge back with the demon that almost killed him and his friends >immediately tries to kill his boss, uncle, father figure and friend Nero went easy on him.
Jaxon Robinson
>defending shit tier dialogue cringe and zoomer pilled
Brayden Moore
>abandoned him and him his mother to their luck to be fair Nero's mom did the same thing too
Jeremiah Butler
Oh, and wait, how could I forget. >Rips off his arm, leaving him for dead in a pool of blood after he offered him free food
>He wanted a mexican soap opera tier reunion dumb and redditpilled.
buddy I didn't want anything about this story, I can't even express how disappointed I am in 100% of it. I didn't like one single thing aside from the epilogue in hell and even that had slightly cringy dialogue.
I can understand why you would dislike the story we got, but DMC's story has never been amazing or even particularly good.
Gavin James
The whole "technology advances to overtaking demons' power" theme was very heavy handed in the first half of the game.
Jose Powell
fuck you I liked 1-3's story and 4's was tolerable. this one was beyond garbage.
Dominic Butler
>That bitchslap nearly killed me.
Joshua Gomez
3's was particularly good and I have yet to see any arguments against this other than "NUH-UH!".
1 was bollywood tier and what little plot 4 has falls apart if you even poke its logic one bit. Not to mention the characters were all kinda shit.
But 3 was THAT good.
Ayden Butler
lol
William Davis
What were you hoping for? Less fanservice? That's definitely my biggest issue with the game's story, and it goes beyond the story too.
Jose Fisher
>X and Y pilled
You have no right to call anyone a zoomer.
Julian Mitchell
>3's was particularly good and I have yet to see any arguments against this other than "NUH-UH!". Hero's journey just works in 100% of the things that have decent execution of it
Jayden Barnes
why is dante and V themes so awful?
Anthony Gray
V's fine. Dante's just meh because band can't write a good song and they had to redo the vocals because the initial vers was just tat bad
Nathaniel White
>I have yet to see any arguments against this It's typical heavy-handed trope stuff. The way Vergil and Dante play off each other is pretty memorable (and so is the ending), but the plot and characters aren't anything special. It's a solid story, but I wouldn't go much further than that.
David Hughes
I've been attacking DMC5 since e3, buddy. I call it like it is. I didn't have any hope but it would have been amazing if the game just felt like DMC3 did with the 10/10 OST, mostly badass looking characters(Dante looked like crap in 3), and had cool cutscenes. Even when there was no action 3's cutscenes were really good. Just imagine a game that realized 3's CGI, felt like a real DMC game with gay puzzles and 80% gothic architecture, had truly memorable music you don't have to pop M to appreciate, and didn't have cringy characters like Nico.
>fuck you I liked 1-3's story and 4's was tolerable Alright, opinion discarded. I get not liking 5's story at all if you have never been a fan of the series, but this level of shit taste within the fanbase is unforgivable.
1's was cornier than anything in 5, period. "YOU MAY HAVE HER FACE BUT YOU'LL NEVER HAVE HER FIRE!!!!!!" should give you an aneurysm if you actually thought the epilogue in hell had "slightly cringy dialogue".
4's wasn't tolerable, it was beyond shit and part of the reasons why it took everyone until the reboot to realize that if you isolate Nero from the shit story he was in, he's actually a cool character. 4's story was just boring at best, insultingly bad at worst. The narrative and pacing were abysmal. Not to mention 4's story falls apart the moment you start questioning things like "why did Trish give away the Sparda?", "why didn't Dante just kill the savior himself?". The answer to both of these simple questions and many others is just "To keep the story going, dummy!".
Mason Perry
Can I dodge in mid air as Nero? I feel as if I do it occasionally but can't get the right button's down.
Brandon Garcia
Nice non-arguments. >It's typical heavy-handed trope stuff Doesn't disqualify it from being good at all, that's just you being a hipster and not wanting to enjoy something that isn't unique.
>the plot and characters aren't anything special That's your opinion, prove it.
Like I said. No arguments other than "NUH UH!".
Luis Bailey
Fuck, subhuman at least had a nice chorus. Nu-human is just flat garbage. Why isn't there a mod to add the original back in yet?
Caleb Hall
You're looking at the stories at a much different angle than I am. I'm pretty sure you're just trying to be a contrarian right now without really thinking what you're saying though, or at least comparing the stories to 5.
Trish gave Sparda to them so she could gain their trust and find out what they were up to.
Dante didn't finish the savior because he wanted to give that shitlord Nero a shot at saving the world because that's his nephew.
You can triple jump and jump on enemy heads like Mario. Breakers and taunts and some sword attacks give you mobility in the air too.
>imagine Trish getting pinned against a gray wall, that's the same color of her fucking boring bitch-ass character who imperonates moms becuase she's literally an unholy wretch with no dignity whatsoever, while at the same time the demon-whore who suckled Mundus' big red tri-balls and had so much piss-stained demon cum splurged all over her hair, it got dyed blond, is being fisted with pizza up her matrix-2000 black fetish pants ripped apart, so hard the term yeast infection gets a new meaning, and with her last whoreish, skanky, breaths she coughs up the crusty, hell-cum out her ps2-octagon mouth, leaving her dark soul unfilled, yet her ass stuffed to the brim
i thoguht it was fitting. he found the power within himself and it manifested through a solid visual aspect. he needed the devil arm in order to bring out the power to protect. eventually this lead to him wielding yamato in dmc4. eventually he began to rely on it as a crutch, only to have ti stripped from him. the devil triggers were a crutch as well, allowing him skills and powers needed to proect kyrie and the family he has grown to love in dante and the rest of the devil may cry family. however, he cant use a crutch permanently and only when his resolve is finally solidified and he doesn't care if hes dead weight etc, does he manifest his arm and gain the power of a devil. this is his final grwoth showing that he can accept everything about himself and his emotions thus allowing himself to grow as a person. his final doubt is expressed in the ending where he asks Nico if hes a devil and gets the answer only a true friend would give. i think its, while somewhat disappointing depending on what you wanted form this story, necessary in order to express his growth, which is accepting hiss true goal and no longer being that brash kid. hes finally become his own person and its symbolically put through his admiration for Dante and his disdain for Virgil by gaining a devil trigger. the devil sorta symbolizes his acceptance of himself. at least that what i think but then again take it for what it is which is the ramblings of a drunk guy who honestly just loves this fucking game way too much.
Henry Kelly
Crazed and redorbed
Julian Diaz
you're so fucking gay
Jose Sanchez
>Dante also shot up his research in 4, Nico even getting it makes no sense. Oh no, all those pages have a single bullet hole in them and they were scattered around a room. Fuck, I guess they're all worthless now. Just put them in the shredder.
Angel Fisher
>I'm pretty sure you're just trying to be a contrarian right now You don't know what contrarian means, and you wish I was and it was that easy to discredit what I'm saying. Nothing I said is contrarian or controversial at all, you will find people that share those opinions everywhere.
>Trish gave Sparda to them so she could gain their trust and find out what they were up to. Why was this necessary? It's not even their job to investigate, they have info brokers like Morrison that do that for them without needing to hand over the most powerful weapon in the entire universe to a cult that you already suspect of wrongdoing. Not to mention, they weren't a threat with the Sparda and they were even less of a threat without it. All it did was put the lives of the people at fortuna at risk.
>Dante didn't finish the savior because he wanted to give that shitlord Nero a shot at saving the world because that's his nephew. So "To keep Nero's story going", gotcha.
Hudson Price
its true. its what happens when you down half a bottle of tequilla. fuck me
Camden Wilson
>You don't know what contrarian means, and you wish I was and it was that easy to discredit what I'm saying. Nothing I said is contrarian or controversial at all, you will find people that share those opinions everywhere. A contrarian is someone who says the opposite of what his opponent is saying, just because it suits his stance. You disregarded my opinion and tried to brush me off as a non-fan, then you went to attack the stories in the older games implying it's you who isn't a fan. Seems pretty contrarian to me.
For Fun. Why are you getting your patnies all caught up in a bunch? The cutscene where she takes it explains it perfectly. Dante didn't want to go but the other two did, she Trish incentivized him.
>So "To keep Nero's story going", gotcha. Dante's own words, from a narrative point of view it's not far fetched or even ham fisted. DMC4's story is pretty lame but it's nowhere near as bad as 5's and it's not even half as bad as haters will say.
So did you have an actual argument against me or were you just shitposting?
>that's just you being a hipster and not wanting to enjoy something that isn't unique Who says I don't enjoy it? If you don't think DMC3 is heavy-handed you must not have experienced any story-telling that isn't daytime soaps or Final Fantasy. Vergil is a cool, collected character obsessed with power. Arkham is an egomaniac intent on summoning the forces of darkness to elevate himself no matter the cost. This is all very trope-y stuff. Do you praise Castlevania's stories too? >Vergil: Foolishness, Dante, foolishness. Might controls everything. And without strength, you can't protect anything. Let alone yourself. Subtle. >Vergil: To further your study of the black arts, you sacrificed your loving wife, to become a devil as well. Knowing this I thought you'd be more useful to me, but I was wrong. No wonder your attainment of power is incomplete. >Arkham: What about you? You're an incomplete being as well. Both demon and human blood mingle in your veins. >Vergil: Shut up. Now that the final door is open, I have no use for you. Truly subtle.
There's nothing wrong with tropes, but it's not like DMC3 is breaking new ground on any front. Dante's character arc is solid. The way the game shows his devil-may-care (sue me) attitude to be as much of a self-defense mechanism as Vergil's cartoonish power obsession gives the ending a nice resonance and a title drop that isn't totally eye-rolling, but it's not astounding. The real cool stuff in the story is in its levity and cheeky self-awareness. The plotting and character work is all pretty predictable and thin.
Liam Thompson
>I thought we were going somewhere >that development is dropped
You thought wrong. You misinterpreted what was going on. His story was if anything the exact opposite of what you thought it was going to be.
Adam Morris
I wish I could put into words how perfect DMC3's story is. Every dialogue or action driven cutscene is just so good.
Jaxson Perez
>A contrarian is someone who says the opposite of what his opponent is saying OK, contrarian.
>Why are you getting your patnies all caught up in a bunch? Why are you? I'm just defending my point of view while trying to remain objective so I'm sticking to the facts. Lay off the estrogen, it's making you emotional.
>The cutscene where she takes it explains it perfectly It does, I never said there wasn't an explanation. I said the explanation doesn't withstand scrutinize and you have yet to prove otherwise, you didn't address my arguments at all. >Dante's own words, from a narrative point of view it's not far fetched or even ham fisted. Read above, and that last bit is your opinion and I strongly disagree with it.
>DMC4's story is pretty lame but it's nowhere near as bad as 5's and it's not even half as bad as haters will say. That's also your opinion, and I'm going to point out that using the "haters" are just normal people that don't like what you like. You are a dmc5 "hater", does that mean you are automatically wrong about it? You are, but not because you are a hater.
So did you have an actual argument against me or were you just shitposting?
Joseph Gray
He got his shonen power up not from rage, but from his human connection with Kyrie and desire to protect his family. His anger at being called “dead weight” wasn’t hurt pride, it was fear of not being able to protect those he loved. A neat parallel to Vergil. It was a cool scene but needed way more buildup for a more emotional payoff. It sucks that the story felt a bit rushed but the game is so much goddamn fun that I’m not too hung up on it.
Brandon Cook
>OK, contrarian. Sorry but I'm not going to read your post, you're just acting like too much of a faggot. I made a statement and you got upset, I guess that's all you're here for.
How do you change outfits? I did it a few times when I was starting the game, but now I can't seem to find the option.
Elijah Martinez
>Subtle good >Not subtle bad Am I reading this correctly? If so, prove it.
>it's not like DMC3 is breaking new ground on any front I agree, but it doesn't need to in order to be good, great or even perfect.
>The plotting and character work is all pretty predictable and thin. Predictable, maybe, but thin? I don't think so. Lady's character is anything but, and her development is non-linear so I'm casting doubt on her development being predictable. You oversimplify the build up to key moments in the story, like Vergil and Dante cooperating to defeat Arkham, Lady crying after Vergil "kills" her father, then crying again when she kills him herself, or Dante coming to terms with what it means to be the son of Sparda not through his interactions with his brother, but by bonding with Lady. None of those are entirely straight forward, and they are the backbone of the story.
Nicholas Ortiz
>two of the characters in a story primarily consisting of four characters are special enough to be memorable, but the characters aren't anything special Okay.
Kayden Reed
OK, contrarian.
Camden Turner
Nero doesn't have sky star but he's got three jumps, calibur, snatch, and air taunt, so pretty much at any point you're mid-air and need to move you've got options for it.
Those sentences are anything but heavy handed either, they're pretty normal exchanges aren't they?
You were the one replying to me, without putting up a single argument. Every question you had I answered but you still kept shitposting. I don't even know what basis your opinion has since the questions you asked had obvious answers. It's not possible for me to have said anything contrarian like. Are you even an adult? You're acting really stupid.
Jeremiah Allen
>You were Sorry but I'm not going to read your post, you're just acting like too much of a faggot. I made a statement and you got upset, I guess that's all you're here for.
Jason Taylor
How very grown up of you. You're a loser!
Adrian Moore
>"why did Trish give away the Sparda?" For intel. Dante shot Sanctus in the head and immediately went straight for the Order's HQ because Trish had found everything out by the time he got there. And before you start, giving them Sparda didn't really help their plans much, they already had the other devil arms and were preparing to open the gates. >"why didn't Dante just kill the savior himself?" Because he couldn't penetrate it, big piece of shit was tough, so rather than diving into its heart he threw Yamato to Nero to destroy it from the inside while he kept it busy outside. Pay attention dummy.
Luis Scott
>NO NO WAIT! DON'T USE MY COP-OUTS AGAINST ME, TAKE ME SERIOUSLY PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!!! I BEG YOU TALK TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nero's air game is rediculous. He has so many options for vertical movement that you don't even need to do the punch line skate park for the blue orb fragment. You can just make your way up the huge steep cliff from the secret mission location.
Aaron Ortiz
Some of you are bunga, don't unga to the Bloody Palace tomorrow
For PCs choose mission select rather than continue and it will ask you before the mission starts. For NPCs go to options and you can change them there.
Justin Bailey
>implying that fag was here to talk about the game
Leo King
>If so, prove it. I'm saying that the game's plot and characters are thin. The humor is consistently pretty good. The rest is standard, basic, predictable stuff that the game spells out to you every chance it gets.It sustains a great action game with some fun moments, and that's all it had to do. But it's not more than perfunctory. >Predictable, maybe, but thin? I don't think so. Lady's character is anything but, and her development is non-linear >None of those are entirely straight forward Really? >Dante: I'll take care of him. >Lady: Why do you care so much? >Dante: This whole business started with my father sealing the entrance between the two worlds. And now, my brother is trying to break that spell and turn everything into demonville. This is my family matter. Quite frankly, at first, I didn't give a damn. But because of you, I know what's important now. I know what I need to do. What constitutes "straight forward" to you? The rest of the game's arcs aren't any less obvious.
Ayden Gutierrez
This line felt so out of nowhere.
He says it as if he's quoting Vergil, but he's never even met Vergil. Why is he suddenly just saying it while walking through a corridor? It was weird.
Aiden Flores
>and finding he didn’t need the Demon heritage to be a hero what makes you think he didn't have demon heritage all along? have you not been paying attention to anything these past 11 years?
Chase Sanchez
Because some people hear it and see it as justification for the story, for the reason user is posting it now that's why they put it in.
Nicholas Cook
lol
Owen Thompson
>Literally sci-fi 1000 years into the future technology that can stop time, shoot massive beams, and more. Made by a fucking trailer trash autistic whore? wow, I literally cannot look at this game anymore. I loved the gameplay, but having you point this out is really ruining any fun to be had now, and I guess I'm just going to have to drop the game (I'm at M19 on human).
Carter Gutierrez
Best action of the past decade... Yhea V is soo fucking fun to play
Leo Robinson
DMC3 isn't straight forward, Lady is mysterious for most of the game as is her father, Jester, and Vergil.
Straight forward is Dante climbing up the tower but even the route he takes isn't straight forward, he does some weird shit on the way like... enter a flying whale and rides a motorcycle going in the wrong direction.
Aaron Thompson
>enter a flying whale and rides a motorcycle going in the wrong direction well not just that, he climbs the tower, then jumps off the tower and ends up at the bottom where he started, just to ascend it again.
Brody Wilson
Truly the deepest plot.
Dominic Lee
Vergil is an actual fucking sociopath. He had abandonment issues and decided that in order to overcome this and never experience such a thing again he needed power. Then he finds out his brother Dante is somehow on par with him despite being a lazy fuck that just eats pizza and gets crazy, and this fucks up Vergil' s pride real hard. When he loses to Dante that last time in 3 he goes "fuck it I'm done" and throws himself into hell to die. Too bad for him Munfus finds him and makes him his own personal bitch. Even worse is that he gets sent off to fight Dante again who already damaged his ego and broke his psyche, and of course he fucking loses again. Vergil had already long forgotten why he even needed power in the first place, by now having lost and killed by his brother multiple times so he thinks he wanted power to beat Dante. He is quite literally the fucking Joker now.
James Allen
nice head canon but vergil's pride is fine buddy
Juan Ross
Well, he's just following Vergul
Christian Powell
>Lady is mysterious for most of the game as is her father, Jester, and Vergil. Waiting to unveil motivations doesn't make those reveals any less straightforward, and these reveals aren't all that belated anyway. Arkham's relationship with Lady is blatantly told to the audience in Mission 10. Vergil blatantly tells the audience his goals and motivations in Mission 7.
Colton Sanders
I can't activate secret missions as nero or dante, I just stand over them and it doesn't give me a prompt, help.
They have to fully glow and be in frame perfectly for the activate prompt to appear.
Julian Lopez
You have to adjust the camera until the symbol completely lines up and glows. Just standing on the spot won't trigger it.
Benjamin Hughes
vergil didn't go to the base of the tower; I'm pretty sure you even see him start walking back down the steps. as much as I love 3, I've never been able to come up with a decent reason for him to jump off the roof since the game released.
Wyatt Russell
Thanks
Xavier Bell
you're not in the right place and/or not looking at the right spot.
Wyatt Sullivan
I guess all mysteries are straight forward as long as their resolved. That makes sense.
Robert Garcia
Even though it wrenches my heart to say it, DmC's plot and characters were much better written and paced, than DMCV's. They all were actually going through some growth, the events had logic to them and the pacing was overall better.
Also final Vergil is a straight up copy and paste of the DmC fight just done with better graphics and some DMC3 elements - the way he's being juggled, the Doppleganger, the slow-mos and scenes in between the fight.
Also the locations after the mid-point of the game become obnoxiously same-y. Still it has god-tier combat, bosses and enemies, would give it a 8.5/10
How do i exploit vergil in dmd with royal guard, normal and sos were so fricking easy but now my damage won't compare also i can't seem to royal release on vergil superdt charge , hitboxes feel weird
Isaiah Cook
The way these mysteries are explained and wrapped up to the audience is what makes the story straight forward. Waiting to tell the audience certain things doesn't in itself make the plot retroactively more complex or nuanced. (Arkham "dying" was admittedly a red herring though, obvious or not.)
Levi Gray
give me some tips for murdering vergil on DMD as Nero i can get him to around half health no problem but after that when he starts extending his combos i cant find any openings to attack
Shit, I'm learning a lot from this 2 digit poster.
Dominic Butler
>They all were actually going through some growth >WE DID IT! WE FREED THE PEOPLE! NOW WE CAN BE THE OVERLORDS! >v-vergil?
Kayden Taylor
dodge then shoot him
Dominic Evans
Isn't the place where they have their second fight where Vergil's got Beowulf and Arkham reveals his master ruse below ground-level?
Wyatt Roberts
>You love Nero new mechanic and hair but fucking hate his new face
What have they done to my boy?
Cooper Edwards
Yeah, Vergil twist was stupid as fuck, but you could see it coming the way he aborted Lilith and being a cunt towards Kat's rescue.
Jacob Phillips
DmC's plot and characters are embarrassing, man. Anyway, I agree about the Vergil fight. It's garbage in 5. I really don't know how so many people are okay with it, and the only defense I ever hear is that "it's hard" as if difficulty is a measure of quality. He's hard in 3 as well, but the fight isn't ass.
Christian Phillips
It's called DMC5. No official source has ever referred to it as DMCV once.
Nathan Williams
no it's after dante starts reclimbing the tower again.
thanks, ill try is there anything i can do when he turns into an aeroplane besides shoot at him?
Jayden Robinson
user...
Benjamin Cruz
FUCK YOU
John Evans
How the fuck is Vergil in 5 hard is what I want to know. 3's Vergil took me days to finish, I was younger back then but I'm fairly sure he was a fuck of a lot harder than this guy.
John Brown
dodge or buster him. maybe you can do something else.
I was just joking by the way, just get good. you can shoot him too though.
James Sanchez
I can't play for shit in those "dmc crew" missions. Fucking lag.
Brody Perez
You saw a theme that didn't exist at all. Nero was completely full of shit and in over his head every time he entered the qlithoth
"I got all the power I need right here" was him being petulant and stupid and upset over not being strong enough.
The entire game was building to the reveal of his heritage and the unlocking of his demon blood (without Yamato as a crutch)
Benjamin Evans
ive mostly just been shooting him anyway for damage because i can't into max act
>DmC's plot and characters are embarrassing, man They sure aren't Shakespearean, but at least the plot progression makes sense compared to DMCV. Just think about the events progression. First we're trying to weaken the Urizen by destroying the roots, then SUDDENLY we're trying to find and save Lady/Trish, then SUDDENLY we're inside the tree, trying to get a revenge on Urizen, then SUDDENLY we try to retrieve Sparda because reason, then Suddenly Vergil becomes the main baddie and we need to stop him. It's just all over the place, there's no sense of satisfaction accomplishing either of goals
Eli Flores
Anyone else disappointed with Sin Scissors? They're just an annoyance at best because you can only kill them if you wait for an opening/bully them until their guards are broken.
Death scissors and Sin/Death Scythes would have been appreciated
and both of those nero threads were made be a phonefaggot if you look at the filenames
Jordan Evans
you didn't pay too much attention did you?
Nicholas James
it's a fucking videogame you troglodyte >WTF THIS MECHANIC IS FUN
Lincoln Gomez
Are you sure? From what I remember it goes Beowulf, then Geryon, then Vergil 2, and that all involved descending rather than ascending.
Matthew Foster
Nero is a faggot what else is new
Andrew Murphy
>satan >angels This isn't a christian mythology. It's not hell, it's makai. Devils aren't fallen angels, they're yokai. There is no heaven or god or angels in DMC

William Parker
>There is no heaven or god or angels in DMC This has never been explicitly the case.
Gabriel Jones
powered by demon corpses. how is this any different from any other weapon in the game
Nicholas Martinez
you think those wings on the title screen are just for show?
Ryan Russell
There wasn't much to pay attention to considering how brief the goals and events were established and resolved. Sure, DMCs stories were never an example of god-tier writing, but this one felt extremely rushed. Not to say there weren't enough cuhrayzee-directed scenes to compensate for it. The only thing I'm actually satisfied with are the dialogues and characters interactions
Joseph Perez
devs have confirmed it a long time ago.
Hudson Evans
>I'm too retarded to follow slightly nonlinear storytelling >I think an invincible immortal demon king needing an heir, a guy with nothing but angel blood "finding his humanity," random pointless attacks that accomplish nothing, sniper rifle abortion, and THIS ISN'T THEY LIVE DON'T SUE US was a good story >Even when as a direct result of Donte's actions demons start genociding humans and when Vergil goes "ok now lets go save them all and rebuild society" Donte responds "NNNNOOOOOOO UR JUST LIEK MUNDUS FUCK YOU" There's contrarianism and then there's being fucking stupid
Kevin Barnes
You're just bad at fighting them, mate. There's three different ways to kill them. Direct damage, scissor break, or parry. What you generally want to do is get around their guards using high style building attacks, then once you've got to S or SS, start using crits, adding a bit more damage if they're being too passive so your style doesn't fall. They're one of the smartest enemy designs in the game, and one of my absolute favorites.
That said, Death Scythes should've been put in as well. Their three scythe mode is one of the coolest and scariest things in DMC1. They're just so weak that you almost never get to see it, but on a first playthrough, they can tear you a new asshole. Would've loved to have seen them come back.
Sebastian Rodriguez
They're symbolic of Nero's DT wings which is why they're superimposed on his back. They're not the numeral V. The massive number 5 on the logo should clue you in on that.
Jose Cooper
Yes it absolutely has. Straight from Itsuno's mouth in a 4 intetview
Anthony Thompson
>how is this any different from any other weapon in the game Are you kidding me?
1. Cool introduction cutscenes. 2. Can upgrade other weapons. 3. Other weapons don't break. 4. You can switch other weapons. 5. Other weapons have larger move-sets. 6. Other weapons have unique looks to them ie aren't all arms. 7. Other weapons have sensible lore.
They didn't, they always dodge the question. The one team they kind of did they were merely referring to the events of the games. There is no angels in any of the DMC games so far, that is correct.
Jackson Wright
What I mean is they're just kind of boring. They're slow and their attacks are boring. Death Scissors was the bane of my existence back in DMC1 and I'm pretty sure it's more aggressive than DMC5 Sin Scissors on DMD
Benjamin Bennett
>Sure, DMCs stories were never an example of god-tier writing, Fuck you 3 was godly, even the song lyrics.
Jayden Rogers
V for vergil
Caleb Rogers
Do you think it's called DMC5V nigga?
Brandon Smith
I must have died to Vergil at least 50 times now on SOS mode. SOS up until now was extremely easy but Vergil can go fuck himself. If i don't beat this in the next hour i'll probably just give up. I'm too retarded and slow for this.
They're wings. The game isn't called DMCV5. Stop being a retard.
Charles Barnes
That's not a problem with the enemy, but the game. All enemies are too passive in DMC5. Death Scissors do still have the diving string that they had in 1, they just only do it rarely and it's slower, and they're not invincible, which is a fair compromise considering how the gameplay focus shifted from efficiency to combos.
Ian Price
>What you generally want to do is get around their guards using high style building attacks, then once you've got to S or SS, start using crits, adding a bit more damage if they're being too passive so your style doesn't fall. Not that guy but I have literally no idea what this means but I never had trouble fighting them, they never really attack. >They're one of the smartest enemy designs in the game, and one of my absolute favorites. How so? I thought the similar enemy in 4 was so much better(ignoring its weakness to grabs).
Austin Reyes
user, just use google instead of embarassing yourself.
Itsuno specifically said he was worried about the west when it comes to DMC because the west is obsessed with christianity and he didn't know if they'd accept a world with demons but no angels or heaven (despite "demons" existing in nearly every mythology)
He was talking about morons like you
Henry Sanders

Nathan Wilson
>do mission 9 on DMD >that room with the two Hellbats >that room with the two Lusachias >that area with the two Judeccas >that area with the two Proto Angelos and the two Death Scissors
Holy fucking Sparda this mission was a fucking nightmare. But I endured and got that S-rank, even though I would have preferred to have no damaged it, but the Hellbats cockblocked me from getting no damage. Those things seriously need better tells for their lava bukkake attacks.
Also, why is it that the first encounter against the two Empusas at the very start of the mission sometimes spawns an additional Antenora and sometimes doesn't?
The story, sets up the best DMC sequel to be ever made. Imagine Dante, Vergil and Nero searching for Nero's mother in Law Vegas casino. DMC6: Hangover. Then they wake up and mundus has captured Nero's mother and gives them 10 days to bring him Dante's and Vergil's heads, or he will kill Nero's mother.
Kevin Evans
It's pretty obviously both, I think. It was just a joke about the story running out of credible threats/directions to take the story.
Eli Jenkins
>I thought we were going somewhere thematically with Nero fighting with one arm and finding he didn’t need the Demon heritage to be a hero. That actually woulda been cool. Would have preferred this.
I also wish Griffon and Shadow and joined the squad instead of having to kill them
seethis is the ideal DMC story and they already fucked it up
Asher Foster
I'm talking about how to score high style on them. They're easy to beat just by mashing on their scissors until they shatter, but it gets you shit for style.
Mephistos were fine, but their weakened phase was too easy to achieve. Fausts were more interesting, and I agree they were better than Death Scissors in 5. Fausts were one of my favorite enemies in 4.
Carter Peterson
I didn't even read whatever your message is, I just saw that gif and it fucking made me laugh, i thought you should know
Ethan Morris
Kill yourself edgelord.
Nicholas Jones
No, it was about DMC4 and it was exactly what I said: Itsuno worried the west would hear "demons" and go "HURR WHERE IS GOD WHERE ARE DUH ANGELS"
You know, like you did you fucking twat
Dominic Sullivan
>high style on death scissors Parrying and one-shotting them gives the most style
Christian Edwards
>liking Nero >liking 5's garbage story literally anything would have been better.
Grayson Smith
>Judeccas fuck these niggas on DMD, they're just so annoying mixed in with a group of other enemies.
Juan Stewart
Someone explain Devil Sword Dante to me. Is it a sword named after Dante or is Dante himself the sword?
Chase Howard
>No, it was about DMC4 I'm saying the post about Dante and company fighting Satan was just a joke about the story running out of credible threats. I would know: I'm the one that made it.
Grayson Peterson
>but it gets you shit for style. ??? They're literally free SS at least. I just mash on them, dodge their retaliation attack, then slam into them and you SS. SSS if there's literally 1 other enemy around so your style doesn't deplete before you can finish the enemy. If you parry the retaliate it's even easier.
No it doesn't. If all you do is parry them right away, you end the fight with terrible style points. Try getting an S rank on Mission 10 of DH doing that. The one-shot gets you two style ranks, so it's fine after you've already built up some, but you can't lead with it like in DMC1.
Jose Brown
How do you Royal Guard the lasers he summons on to you? i can Royal Guard the first one easy but in the second half of the fight he summons like 5 of them one after the other that chase you. Royal Guarding all that shit seems impossible.
Noah Adams
It is to Dante what the sword Sparda was to Sparda. It is an extension of Dante's will, so in that sense it's a part of Dante and also a sword named after him.
Jaxson Adams
It gives you big points if you parry them while mashing on others, what's annoying about them?
Zachary Mitchell
th machine gun summoned sword you should just trickster dodge, for the ones that encircle you use balrog's jump
Samuel Sanders
Royal guarding blistering swords should be easy. The only real problems should be Spiral Swords around vergil (you can shotgun them away) or Storm Swords (the ones that circle you). You can break them easily with DSD's swordmaster swipes.
David Reed
Target them first. Spam Balrog punches until it's dizzy, and then Real Impact until dead. After that, ride the style rank through the rest of the fight. They're garbage tier enemies.
Jordan Gray
The judgement cut orbs? Just learn the rhythm. They're fast but you can easily learn the timing
The only thing you can't through are the summoned sword formations
On my SoS run I used DT real impact setups for damage in phase 2 while building sin DT and RG meter, royal release his jet plane, then sin DT to cheese out doppleganger phase
John Bell
Barry, stop trying to flame DMC threads. It won't work.
Noah Hall
Are you literaly mental?
Dylan Howard
>and finding he didn’t need the Demon heritage to be a hero you mean him finding out that he doesn't need yamato to be capable of fighting for what he believes. The entire point is that during DMC4 Nero relied solely on the power of Yamato and the Devil Bringer, not his own demonic heritage. Then he gets his arm cut off in 5 and thus loses his main source of power, which is why Dante calls him a deadweight. And throughout the entire story Nero remains a deadweight until the end where he (remembers that he's a quarter demon and) unlocks his DT. TL;DR up until DMC5 Nero relied on the strength of others (yamato) and at the end of DMC5 he finally utlizes his own strength for once
Asher Richardson
That's ruggarell you fucking autist.
Juan Ramirez
You literally can't even spell or read.
Christian Harris
>I hate being dead weight I'll call Kyrie >You always know what to do Nero :^) >that's the exact amount of motivation I need, to be told that I'm exactly the same as I've always been!
Easton Baker
He just needed a word of comfort from his love, what's wrong with that?
Jayden Stewart
Hearing the voice of your perfect waifu can sometimes be a very good motivator
Liam Bennett
The devil bringer was his own strength, though. He had it before he had Yamato.
Nolan Nelson
You really didn't pay any attention.
>then SUDDENLY we're trying to find and save Lady/Trish No. Lady is a surprise side objective that happens while you're destroying roots. Nero came there to destroy the roots, not to find and save Lady. Similarly, Trish is a side objective to Dante when he's on his way back to the tree.
>then SUDDENLY we're inside the tree No. It's a month later, you cut off Urizen's blood supply by destroying the roots, and with regained strength (aka Devil Breakers) Nero attempts again.
>then SUDDENLY we try to retrieve Sparda because reason No. It's established as V's new goal as early as M05, before Nero even reaches the tree. It's a safety net in case Nero doesn't beat Urizen in M08, which he doesn't. Dante's survival and Rebellion's/Sparda's absorption is an ass pull, I'll grant you that. We do see the devil arms used and absorbed in various ways throughout the franchise though.
>Suddenly Vergil becomes the main baddie and we need to stop him. You're given your first hint that it's Vergil in the opening cinematic. V tells Nero it's the demon that took his arm, if you saw the first trailer you know it's Vergil who did that. If you didn't, the flashback scene right in the beginning of the game shows you the scene. You're given non-stop hints and foreshadowings from there on out.
Isaac Taylor
>they're defending it
Jace Ramirez
>Credo taught everything that Nero knows I wonder if this wounds Vergil's pride a bit. Does he spend his days thinking "I'm a better swordsman than that nigger"?
Joseph Walker
>I thought we were going somewhere thematically with Nero fighting with one arm and finding he didn’t need the Demon heritage to be a hero His theme song is Pull my DEVIL TRIGGER, how could you expect the story not to pan out how it did?
>I feel like a lot of that development is dropped by what happens with him at the end and now he’s just like the previous protags Nero's arc has always been about being human while accepting his devil side, where dante and vergil were the opposite to varying degrees of success. The ending should make it clear he's doing things his own way as a successor to the SoS legacy.
>I guess we won’t be seeing devil breakers again? No user, we spent our epilogue cutscene showing how Nico modified the breakers to accommodate the change for them to just drop breakers next game.
But Credo was Vergil in disguise all along. He's voiced by Dan.
Ryder Fisher
I see no reason for him not to use his demonic heritage, especially considering part of the ending is forcing Vergil to accept him as family, but I agree it's weird to give him his arm back. He's a more interesting and aesthetically pleasing protagonist while missing an arm, and having an explicit weakness he's able to overcome is a good trait. They could easily have left him without an arm and had a spectral Devil Bringer just appear during DT Giving him an arm makes the Devil Breakers look stupid too. I get that they're more like a gauntlet post-game but it's still silly. His reliance on them was endearing
Nicholas Ross
How did Vergil survive between his defeat in 1 all the way to 5? How long was he walking around half dead for?
Gabriel Gonzalez
>royal release his jet plane isn't this a bad idea since when he's in DT he takes way less damage?
Mason Ward
Does that mean Nero is fucking his aunt?
Hudson Powell
It was pretty fucking weak but it's not like it doesn't make any sense at all
It's not made very clear whether the devil bringer really is his own strength considering that it's never specified how he really aquired it. And even then the devil bringer alone is fucking worthless without yamato as that's what's been powering him up throughout DMC4. Without it Yamato he couldn't do shit
Jeremiah Clark
Doing that knocks him out of DT
Jayden Campbell
it still does lodes o' dmg
James Perry
>both Credo and Vergil have the perfect ass must be because of the shield training, squatting with the shield and the perfect stance and all that
Jackson Lopez
I wouldn't say it's worthless, he 1v1'd Dante and was strong enough to make him go DT. He also slays through a decent portion of the game before he gets Yamato. He styles on Berial and the toad without the weeb sword too.
Robert Harris
His devil trigger gives him two DBs. The DB is obviously his own strength, and he was using it effectively before he got Yamato. Yamato made him stronger, though. Can't you save it and laser his ass out of it?
Oliver Reyes
>that garbage >soul
Jaxson Hernandez
cool i'll try it. Thing is i'm pretty awful at Royal Releasing I think I've only manged to do it to vergil once.
Ian Hernandez
It doesn't make sense though.
Aiden Davis
I just hate how he comes back a fucking pussy.
Jayden Cruz
>4's was tolerable 4's is infuriating what the fuck are you talking about >Nero being an idiot >Kyrie just happening to appear RIGHT after Nero beats the shit out of Credo and happens to conveniently transform back to normal >Dante being an goofball taking nothing seriously when he could've dealt with everything in seconds >The entire plot is LITERALLY Trish's fault for bringing Sparda to Sanctus Only good thing in the plot was Credo's death scene
Hunter Garcia
Of course, nobody can answer this
Elijah Walker
>he 1v1'd Dante And Dante was just fucking with him. He obviously didn't even try >He also slays through a decent portion of the game before he gets Yamato His greatest achievement is punching Belial back into the gate and murdering a single Bael. He doesn't even break the gates. In comparison Dante destroys both gates and finishes off all the gate guardians for good.
Jason Phillips
He just had his world rocked and the woman he loves helped him center himself. This should be that hard to grasp, man.
Jeremiah Baker
More....power....
Logan Moore
>hahah what if I just gave Sparda to the spardianity pope I wonder what would happen hahah
Ryder Gomez
He is Try dmd
Brayden Allen
>Nero being an idiot I don't really care but where specifically was he an idiot? >Kyrie just happening to appear RIGHT after Nero beats the shit out of Credo and happens to conveniently transform back to normal The baddies planned to use her against him, pay attention user. >Dante being an goofball taking nothing seriously when he could've dealt with everything in seconds So you wanted an even shorter game? Looking at the time frame of the story he wasn't really taking his time either. Got it all done in a few hours. >The entire plot is LITERALLY Trish's fault for bringing Sparda to Sanctus Yes and?
I replied to someone else about this alread over here if you want more context.
Okay now how is this story INTOLERABLE? It has cool cutscenes, dramatic music, good graphics, and fun gameplay. Sure it has some cringe but that's Nero for you, blame Itsuno for that garbage. Game is still fine.
Colton Parker
>He obviously didn't even try He was subconsciously going DT from the pounding he was getting, and likely had to make a conscious effort to keep it off, so no.
>His greatest achievement is punching Belial back into the gate and murdering a single Bael. So, not worthless then.
>He doesn't even break the gates. One, he doesn't know what they are, two, that says more about his personality than ability.
He absolutely has notable powers without Yamato, there's no need for mental gymnatics. Can slay crowds of demons, defeat high ranking ones, change the size of his phantom arm to smash giant fire centaurs, that's not the definition of worthless. That's like saying DMC3 Dante is human tier until he fights Vergil 1.
Brody Taylor
When will Vergil get his demon sword Vergil?
Asher Roberts
Do you still lose a bit of health if you perform a imperfect royal guard?
Sebastian Gutierrez
How the fuck do I deal with Judeccas as Nero?
Parker Carter
Hopefully never, DSD looks like ass and Yamato is top tier aesthetic.
Liam Evans
>she could take over the world with that shit With confirmed limits on all that technology both time and power wise, normal humans unable to wield them because of their feedback and demons roaming about with powers able to circumvent them. Right.
>why are they pretty much more powerful than devil arms themselves? Every weapon has its own property? Urizen can throw time stop projectiles too? And Dante could use quicksilver from his DMC3 days to stop time? There's a demon horse that can stop time as a boss in the game and Nico weaponizes its part?
Like most have been saying here, are you actually reta- >we should have been able to switch them Yep, retard confirmed.
Brayden Martinez
In 5, no, you lose DT
Kayden Bailey
hit it until it dies
Kevin Smith
>DSD looks like ass your tastes are ass
Connor Moore
Not unless you're out of DT. It steals your DT first. You put down the controller and walk away.
Levi Taylor
What do you think Sin DT Vergil will have other than skyliner? Shit like JCE will be on regular DT so I hope they have some crazy stuff for his sin dt
By sheer power of will. Common anime/japan trope, watch more jap/anime shows.
Sebastian Collins
>Giant wrinkled dragon dildo for a sword Don't fucking @ me you philistine swine.
Jack Ward
>It has cool cutscenes, dramatic music, good graphics, and fun gameplay And 5 has all of this and yet you're trying to shit on it
Hunter Richardson
They don't have to be disposable arms and demons doing it is fine and cool, it's magic. Technology from a skanky autist is not cool.
Make a good argument against switching them. You fucking can't because it would be objectively more fun.
Owen Parker
Imagine seeing demon swords and immediately thinking of dragon dildos. Bet you have hands on experience too.
Ryan Barnes
>reading gallery info >reading Dante >Says the Qualithot(demon tree) was helping Dante recover and restoring his strength while he was sleeping the entire month
lol jesus christ Vergil just cant catch any fucking breaks Even the fucking Demon tree chose Dante over him and he was the one who let the thing lose in the city.
They basically turned Vergil into Vegeta(salty ass poor loser who killed millions just to bet dante) when he used to be more like Sasuke(edgy cool guy who could handle his ownshit).
Wyatt Taylor
5 has shit cutscenes, wub wub EDM bullshit, good graphics with a shit art style, and fun gameplay yes. Most importantly though 5's story is fucking garbage, it's far worse than 4's which you can't even defend despite asking me all about its flaws. That's why you're moving those goal posts right now.
Cooper Thompson
About the arm, I can see your point, but I gotta admit, I never saw it coming, his arm coming back was a total surprise for me and I'm glad for that. But still, now that you mention it, Nero having one arm and compensating through a mechanical one was extremely cool and probably inspirational, now it'll just be an OP adquisition. But about his demonic heritage, no matter the situation, he could never deny it, I mean, thanks to it he can move the way he moves, overcome difficult situations, properly use a weapon like Red Queen, etc, yeah sure, we didn't see him using his DT before, but his abilities where there all the time.
Brody Anderson
His "if I beat Nero, then I beat you, okay?" Is literally child on the playground logic.
Jason Green
I think that was just a simple joke and didn't really mean it, he wouldn't be satifsfied at all.
Samuel Bell
but wasn't al this Qliphoth situation something that happens every 100 years?, I mean that'd imply Vergil wasn't responsible for the death of millions.
Jonathan Cook
Might give him a two-handed Yamato moveset. They could for starters "copy" Dante's SDT explosion move by having Vergil create a black hole by slashing reality open, enemies fall in, and if they don't get OHKO'd inside, get spat back out before the rift slowly closes.
All of the Devil Breakers are made out of demon parts though. Like all of the rest of the weapons.
Not dismissing that idea because I think it'd be cool, but I don't think they built it that way.
Adam Jenkins
>Technology from the relative of 2 geniuses is not cool. Ok.
>You fucking can't because it would be objectively more fun It will fuck with the balance of his character. Stunlocking an enemy to death requires a semblance of skill depending on what enemy you're up against but using the right combination of arms, you don't have to try.
Jonathan Sullivan
>5 has shit cutscenes, wub wub EDM bullshit, good graphics with a shit art style, This is all subjective so it's not bad to anyone but you, I like the soundtrack more then 4's and I think the cutscenes in 4 were awfully boring unless they were Dante's Devil Arm ones and the amazing Agnus scene, and you asked why 4's story was intolerable and given reasons why you think it isn't, I'm simply saying that in my opinion 5's is no different
Jaxson Russell
Dude it happens naturally, but sparda sealing of the demon world kept it at bay.
Vergil unleashed it with Yamamato and opeend up a portal for it to come thru. Hence why Nero says "Yamamato did this" at the start of the game
Music is more subjective and I don't care to hunt down 4's tracks but they're not shit tier like 5's and the game carries one single musical theme, whereas 5 is all the fuck over the place with some terrible zoomer music. Soul youtube.com/watch?v=4wZIfnsnd3U I puke youtube.com/watch?v=nd6qA9XZKdo
Shit art style is why pretty much every character looks fucked up in some way or another, Capcom is still learning how to turn their games into movies and its producing bad results.
You asked some dumb questions about 4 which I answered, you didn't give me reasons.
That was probably Sparda's doing, since one of the big blood absorbing roots popped up right next to it as well as V saying Sparda was keeping Dante hidden.
Adam Phillips
>uses soul/soulless unironically
Dominic Jenkins
>I will just do this DMD mission, I haven't ever had issues with artemis so I'm sure I will be fine >get into room with Lusachia and Riots >dumpster thre lusachia because I can fly around with enemy step, exceed 3 calibur and air taunt max act >the 4 riots DT and start spazzing out >spinning around like they're a fucking Chaos >unload a full DT charge shot into one of the spinning fuckers coming towards me midair >it doesn't even slow them down >get bopped for 1/2 my life >go to folllow him and focus him down since he's lowest >he does a backwards tail swipe i've never even seen before for 1/2 of my life and kills me things are no longer crazy
DT Riots are kinda bullshit, just stay in the air and snatch them forever

>You asked some dumb questions about 4 which I answered, you didn't give me reasons. OK let's answer them then >I don't really care but where specifically was he an idiot? How about when the literal first thing Dante shows him that something isn't right about the Order is that they have Soldier's that are shown to be demons and he doesn't mull over this for a second and it literally has to be hammered into his head by Credo that they're actually doing demonic shit >So you wanted an even shorter game? Looking at the time frame of the story he wasn't really taking his time either. Got it all done in a few hours. This is a shit excuse for Dante, you could've written it to feature enemies and bosses that could've made him take him seriously, oh yeah they were supposed to but 4's quite literally unfinished >Yes and? So you're OK with one of the good guys being responsible for everything going to shit but seethe when Vergil accidentally causes it. Not only that Trish has 2 strikes like Vergil >Sends him to an island to try and be killed by Mundus and along the way kills his own brother >Gives the Order of the Sword Sparda which ramps up their plans for the Savior I don't even hate 4 but it's plot is much worse then 5's and I only deal with it so I can get Bloody Palace OK now for the rest of your post >It's not that Subjective >Proceeds to say Soul and Soulless Nevermind you're just gonna argue with me to the end
Xavier Reed
>That was probably Sparda's doing, since one of the big blood absorbing roots popped up right next to it as well as V saying Sparda was keeping Dante hidden. Sparda kept his presence hidden from demons, but the tree helping dante recover doesn't make sense and needs more explanation.
I was just pointing out how funny it was
Brayden Rogers
You can throw punches while revving streak too. It's absolutely crazyyy if you were to let her rip while juggling some poor demon in the air with the bringer knuckles.
Jacob Myers
Every thousands of years. Read the description again.
Noah Anderson
I need a >I'm gonna pay you 150,000 orbs to fuck off version of this pic with the faust hat Please DMC drawfag come through
>having no argument Here, since you are reading impaired. >Soul = good >Soulless = bad Complicated right?
>and he doesn't mull over this for a second and it literally has to be hammered into his head by Credo that they're actually doing demonic shit He does though. What are you even talking about?
>This is a shit excuse for Dante, you could've written it to feature enemies and bosses that could've made him take him seriously, oh yeah they were supposed to but 4's quite literally unfinished The game was unfinished as you say, they did well despite that. The plot is perfeclty understandable. >So you're OK with one of the good guys being responsible for everything going to shit but seethe when Vergil accidentally causes it. 4 is a fucking joke, it's a walk in the park for the DMC team. It's almost a spin-off in the grand scheme, a game made only to introduce Nero. 5 story has no excuse for being absolutely shit tier and it's way worse than 4's.
>I don't even hate 4 but it's plot is much worse then 5's Curious, how are they worse to you?
As for soul, read above. You are a sperg for getting mad at a word like that.
Noah Robinson
Why must everything be an argument all the time? I just pointed out that you're a braindead retard for using meme words like soul/soulless, I couldn't care less for what you're discussing right now with the other user.
Chase Nguyen
>You are a sperg for getting mad at a word I'm not getting mad, I'm just realising it doesn't matter what I say, you're just gonna sit there and say >Nuh uh 4 is better! And I don't care enough anymore to argue with what appears to be a brick wall, I don't even hate 4, I just think 5 is better

Finished SoS just yesterday, boy that second half gave me headaches. Expected Mission 17 to be a fucking nightmare but I got my best score yet on that one.
Grayson King
I say it's probably Sparda's doing because the whole point of the big blood roots is they pop up near strong demons so they can gather blood, that's why Urizen stuffs Lady and Trish in Artemis and Cavaliere and puts them to work. Since one popped up right next to Sparda and it has enough anime sword sentience to hide Dante, I'm assuming Sparda was able to change the flow of that root toward Dante rather than Urizen. Hell, might have something to do with the Nobodies who were there worshipping it.
Bentley Cruz
I wish I had the drive to play the game again. But fucking V seriously ruined the game for me. That faggot should have never been a playable character.
Leo Garcia
Cheat Engine, that's what I'm going to do for my DMD run. The only fun V mission is the boss rush one, the rest are shit.
Carter Murphy
i had the same thing happen, chanting guy just takes too long and by the time you get off him the rest are DT'd. I ignored him and burned the riots down, if he ever starts up the super long windup thunder nuke just go buster him and he'll shut up
Kayden Rodriguez
>The only fun V mission is the boss rush one >the boss rush one your opinion is different to mine and that's not okay
>he hates Nero Well, there's no accounting for shit taste, I guess. Nero always sucks cock out the gate because his moveset is too limited, but once he's fully loaded he's the most fun character.
Ian Adams
We needed more for the breakers in general Would've been nice if we got one later for DSD while dante's human Or double KAs
Brody Price
Does Mission 19 vs Vergil get more interesting on harder difficulty? It was no where near as good as 3's Vergil fights. I just beat the game on Demon Hunter and it felt like he had less attacks then he should. I know he wasn't using other weapons. The Doppelganger was cool but other then that it was what he did in 3 but less.
William Reed
Phantom should've been V's B button while Nightmare stays automatic or relegated to d-pad commands.
Christopher Foster
say the j word
Jonathan Roberts
It was a little disappointing the breaker scenes were just V/Nero handing off a demon spike to Nico.
Fuck, her VA was horrible.
Easton Lewis
He gets more of his 4SE moveset, actually uses his summon sword formations, takes less and deals more damage.
Asher Murphy
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO ESCAPE VERGILS JUDGEMENT ZONE AS NERO WHEN I'M RIGHT NEXT TO HIM
Matthew Walker
Dante works circles around Nero. They had to give Nero DmC dantes moves to make him useful. OG Dante has by far the best and most varied and to that extent most fun moveset. Especially with SDT now.
Luis Price
DSD demo was at the end of Mission 8. Double KA is a gun. The only gun to ever get a demo was Pandora. Breakers would've been fun, I guess.
Mason Jones
No. He stays slow and passive. You know that DmC move where he walks side-to-side firing 1 sword every two seconds? Yeah, that never gets upgraded. All he does on higher difficulties is combo into a juggle. Fight's garbage.
Cameron Stewart
>had to give Nero DmC dantes moves to make him useful This doesn't make sense at all...
Ryder Anderson
M17 and M19-20 locations should be swapped, change my mind.
Robert Jones
Now I know you're trolling. Donte took Nero's moves from 4, Nero didn't take them from Donte in 5.
Nathaniel Harris
Dude, all the DMC stories are crap and not meant to be taken seriously. It was obvious the moment the first cutscene is over in dmc1
Mason Lopez
I agree.
Brandon Sullivan
3's story is legitimately great. It's not unique. Classic hero's journey archetype, but it's perfectly executed, just with wacky woohoo shit in between the drama.
Lucas White
Shame they kinda dropped the ball considering all they needed to do was copy his moveset from 3. Although the one think I hated for him in 3 was how he would heal on DMD mode. I hope he doesn't do that anymore at least.
Parker Torres
>Demon Sword Sparta is just a remodel for Rebellion. >Both are just worst version of Demon Sword Danta. >No upgradable Sparta sword that switches between sword and scythe. >Not even just Trish's move set where you can Round Trip and then still punch stuff. Biggest and one of the few let downs of the game.
James Russell
ur gaye
Lincoln Nguyen
Yeah it's mostly the case of demos being gone until Dante is playable, so the only sort of flashy action you really get in cutscenes are van summons and Atermis/Goliath/Urizen in M08. You get the breakers and there's no fanfare really. and that's coupled with V not getting new weapons, then dante comes in and things feel good again for when he gets a new thing
Parker Russell
Sparda sword has bigger reach than Rebellion. You can have all of them if you finish SoS.
Jayden Clark
I'm actually retarded in my blind hatred for Nero I completely forgot what he did in DMC4
Jonathan White
I agree. I'm okay with Rebellion just being a shittier DSD, a la Force Edge to Sparda in DMC1. However, Sparda should've been the Alastor of this game and had some unique tricks.
Daniel Long
Seems like you've never really given him a chance. You get on the Unga Bunga train.
Brody Sanchez
desu I don't get why people shit on the story in this game
Aaron Butler
>the story was fucking crap
Devil May Cry stories are dumb to the core, they are meant to be nothing more than entertaining and satisfying. If you want Shakespeare play another game that caters to that.
V vastly improved the game for me. But frankly, there is no excuse to not unlock a freeplay mode after the first playthrough. At least to make faggots like you shut up. Also to let people use characters they actually like.
Jacob Murphy
I gave him a chance when I played 4. I didn't like him I felt cheated out of playing Dante for only half the game. I just never liked him. His moveset in 5 is alright. I only really like 2 of his breakers being Overture and Gerbrae or whatever the fuck it's called.
But like I said early V is a much bigger piece of garbage so Nero is tolerable now
Jason Murphy
>Vergil wants power to defeat Dante I thought he wanted power to rule over humans and force peace onto them?
Zachary Barnes
We all know, but eveyrone wanted something better than DMC3, so there was 0 chance of that.
it's too hard to track the timeline, and character's backstories don't make sense when it's the first game you've played in the series.
Brandon Cox
3 is basically structured like a Shakespearean play, though.
John Butler
In DmC, sure.
Connor Butler
Free play would be ideal honestly. But Vs clunky as fuck moveset compared to the rest of the buttery smooth game just killed it. How anyone can like playing that complete garbage is beyond me.
Bentley Lopez
I thought that is what he wanted in 3 as well. Why else did he want power in 3? He didn't care about losing to Dante before he rose the tower.
Jason Lopez
>entertaining and satisfying 5 is not a "satisfying" story
Cameron Diaz
TRISH
VERGIL HAS BEEN BERATED
Ian Cooper
He just wants to be strong like dear papa. He doesn't want to feel like a weak bitch as he did when mama died.
Oliver Flores
He healed on any mode in 3. He was just more irritating because you had to force him out of DT and avoid his stupid-levels of damage on DMD.
John Reyes
So he just wanted the power so he could stand around with it and be strong? For whatever reason I remember it being more. oh well
Logan Lewis
Sparda is longer and does more damage
Brandon Evans
I love his overall aesthetics, I love summoners and I love Dragon's Dogma. V clicks with me perfectly.
Is DSD objectively better than Rebellion or Sparda? I think I prefer the physical hits then mashing B along with Y for more flame sword hits.
Ryan Phillips
Because might makes right, that's it. He wanted power because he was once powerless, and he wanted security against that happening again.
Ryan Miller
For (you)
Zachary Myers
It is to me because it wraps up the sons of Sparda story and ends with the importance of family which is relatable to all. Past the end of DMC5 is a new chapter for Dante, Vergil and Neo. I'm excited for DMC6 because we are actually moving on to another saga.
>disliking a fucking fifth jump and instant air and ground cancel You're just bad
Brody King
Well, the implication is that he wanted to be like Sparda. "Without power you can't protect anything" and all that jazz.
Chase Gray
It does not do more damage. You can check the damage values in the Void. All three swords do the same damage, although with the summoned swords in Swordmaster, DSD can pump out damage the fastest.
Luke Jenkins
Can somebody explain me why Dante immediately attacks Virgil right after V merges with Urizen? I mean in dmc3 they had a conversation before each battle. And after the ending of dmc3 and especially Virgil's defeat in dmc1 it seems unlikely that Dante sees his bro as just a villian and wants him dead.
Nolan Morris
Sparda does more damage than both DSD and Rebellion on all moves where it transforms (Stinger with DSD and DSS does the same damage as an exception) Although yes, if you're also using the summoned sword moves DSD will probably do more damage
Ryan Rivera
It's won't be the end yet, there's at least one more story with dante and vergil, it'll be fighting mundus.
I guess that is where I misunderstood it. I took the "protect anything" line as he wanted to protect the humans like his dad did. He would have done it by force though because he is uncaring and that is why Dante had to stop him. That is how I misunderstood it all. Now I need to rewatch all the cut scenes again.
Jackson Jackson
Regardless of how Dante sees his bro, Vergil had already been responsible for thousands of innocent deaths in the city at that point. He will have to atone for what he has done.
Nathan Murphy
His goal was internal, psychological. He had lost his mother and suffered immeasurably due to his weakness and in large part blames that weakness on his humanity.
In 3 he wants power so he'll never suffer like that again. "Without power, you can't protect anything."
Later they added that he had wandered for a while and banged some chick in Fortuna, further fueling his desire for power.
After 3 he gets corrupted by Mundus and it isn't until just before 5 that the Yamato splits him into Urizen (demon blood), V(human blood), and Mundus' corruption. V, free of corruption and forced to confront his now very real weakness, is genuinely repentant.
After reforming in 5 he's mostly just fuelled by an autistic desire to beat Dante to prove to himself he wasn't a worthless bitch after all his pain. By the epilogue he's come around to Dante's way of thinking, he's just too proud to admit it.
Alexander Moore
He figured out V was playing them all along what meant no good. I guess eating the fruit helped Vergil unlock Sin Devil Trigger, so that is why he had to go full demon and summon the tree. So Dante figured out when he saw V forming with the giant ogre demon Vergil that he just wanted to become normal Vergil that is even stronger because he ate the fruit.
Tyler Jenkins
You misunderstand, the end of DMC5 was the end of the conflict between Dante and Vergil, that's the big change going forward as the Sparda bloodline is at peace with each other and yes that includes Dante because he loses all sense of logic around his brother. For the first time in forever the bothers are a family.
Dominic Carter
Dante was mad that V hadn't told him hiz identity and assumed out of hand that everything had been Vergil's plan and not just opportunism
Zachary Carter
He felt powerless when his mother was killed by mundus, he wanted to get strong so he wouldn't feel that powerless again and overtime he became obsessed with power that he forgot his initial goal.
Jason Jackson
He saw Vergil's title card and got mad jelly.
Jaxon Morris
Everything thematically felt right, Nero was the odd man out in all of it - Dante, Trish, Lady, Nico, Vergil, each of them had decades of history of losing most or all of their (very dysfunctional and hostile) family, garnering a resignation to never being able to mend what little family they have left. Nero on the other hand started with nothing, lost one of the two people of his loving surrogate family, then discovers his real family. His particular perspective is the polar opposite of everyone else in the main cast, therefore Nero could approach it in a relatively positive fashion: beating the shit out of Dante and Vergil so they won't kill each other.
Only thing I'm not a fan of is the full body DT. I think it would have been better if he just got his arm back and those spectral wings as an evolution of his power.
Dylan Diaz
Yes it is. It has far more moves than either Rebellion or Sparda. Those red summoned swords (that only DSD has) have insane utility.
Also, I'm pretty sure Drive can only be done with DSD.
Leo Carter
There's no "protection by force." That's DmC shit. He just wanted to be a dark knight because it was his lineage. The problem is that he didn't really care about humans, so if he had continued to amass power, he would not have used it for any good as evidenced by callously raising the Temen-ni-gru in the middle of a fucking city in pursuit of further power. The whole point of the story in 3 is the importance of empathy and humanity, which Dante learns from Lady, but Vergil cannot comprehend.
Ryan Morales
The only thing that doesn't make sense to me is that what stopped V from turning to dust? Vergil separates his human side which is turning to dust but when V fuses with his demon side Urizen that affliction is gone. I personally think the fruit nullified that crumbling but I've seen nothing concrete to confirm that.
>got his arm back The power in the Devil Bringer was never his ever ever.
Nolan Evans
>that archive discord trannies tier, disgusting
Easton Perry
>>He will have to atone for what he has done. No he won't! It's like Dante and Nero completely forgot about what Virgil did. They like "fuck it, lets have fun and kill some demons" Besides wasn't Vergil responsible for people's deaths when he summoned Temen-ni-gru and let demons into the city in dmc3?
Chase Bennett
The Devil Bringer is his, only now he can use the Devil Bringer without Yamato nor a mutated devil arm that was caused by a demon scarring him. Nero is now powerful and motivated enough to draw on his latent power without a secondary source.
Jeremiah Butler
>then SUDDENLY we're trying to find and save Lady/Trish wrong, they're just trying to destroy all of the minor Qliphoth roots proven by V in a cutscene >First, we need to exterminate some Qliphoth roots.
>then SUDDENLY we're inside the tree you call that suddenly?
>then SUDDENLY we try to retrieve Sparda because reason because V thought that maybe Dante was fucking dead and wanted to find and give Sparda to Nero so that he could maybe defeat Urizen this is even proven by an in-game dialogue between Griffon and V >Do you think Dante's dead? >Possibly. He has no reason to keep Dante alive.
>then Suddenly Vergil becomes the main baddie and we need to stop him stop him from what? Dante just needs Yamato to cut down the main Qliphoth roots from within the Underworld
i'm sorry my nigga but you're just a fucking brainlet
Gabriel James
That's how I take it as well. It aligns just fine and makes no less sense than the whole Rebellion being absorbed thing.
Landon Rivera
Its the familiars. They were the afflictions Vergil had accumulated and they had to go. V took them all in but left them out when he fused back. They're not with Vergil when he comes back.
Grayson Sanchez
no explanation right now i think my guess is that it's gonna be explained in the new Visions of V manga
Charles Lewis
Call me a faggot but I honestly like the unedited version of Lady more, she looks more mature.
Did 5 retcon Dante and Vergil being twins or am I misremembering? I seem to remember it being a key point that they looked identical, 3 even showcased this during fight 1 when the rain fucks up Vergil's hair and they look exactly the same.
Now it seems to be the case that Vergil is simply the older brother, and obviously their faces have been remodelled so that Vergil looks way more like Nero than Dante.
Austin Ross
>IF SHE DOESN'T HAVE BIG ROUND BUG EYES AND A DAGGER CHIN LIKE MY ANIMAY WHYFOOS, THEN SHE'S UGLY!
Zachary Powell
Even if they did retconned it, was it something big to the story overall?
Dylan Wood
I've never been able to find a good use for Drive, the startup is way too long
Logan Rodriguez
They're still twins, just not identical twins
Leo Wood
>you meds
Xavier Johnson
Vergil didn't age I guess
Liam Jackson
They're actually only presented as identical in 3 and DmC. They have different faces in 1 and 4, and Vergil doesn't appear in 2. They are, however, twins, with Vergil popping out first.
Aaron Butler
Vergil was falling apart before the events of the game due to the Mundus shit and getting his ass kicked in hell without Yamato. Vergil cuts himself in half and then Urizen immediately jumps on the throne of the Qliphoth, the root putting him on life support until he can eat the fruit. V uses "what little demonic power I have left" to sustain his body. The division was not a perfect 100% split, V had probably 1% demon left in him. After munching the fruit, Urizen is recovered. V fuses with Urizen, Vergil is fine.
James Hernandez
V's initial plan wasn't to merge back it was only after speaking to trish is what changed his mind. Of course dante wouldn't know that and thought that v was using him just to get urizen weaker for the sole purpose of fusing back with him.
Goddamn, that ass is flatter than my shirt when i finish ironing it.
Jason Robinson
>He had a hard time on mission 9 Boy just you go check 10 right now.
Camden Scott
Well now you can juggle enemies with summoned swords while charging Drive. The new Swordmaster moves don't seem flashy at first, until you actually start looking for uses for them. Great weapon, love the DSD.
>Buy 99 Overtures >Configure 1 magazine to just be 8 of them >Reload at every phonebooth/statue >Constantly Breakage them, sticking enemies with bombs left and right >Jam two stickies into a boss and set one of them off >Streak, Buster Knuckle, Overture for maximum Unga >Get down to the last arm, just start Buddhist Palming the shit out of everything Holy shit, Nero is so much fun, now.
Jayden Wood
>Its the familiars. They were the afflictions Vergil had accumulated and they had to go. V took them all in but left them out when he fused back. They're not with Vergil when he comes back.
Hmm I like what you're saying, I'll keep this in mind.
Ok I've been trying to kill this fuck for 3 hours now. This is by far the hardest thing I've ever tried to do in a video game and now i give up. no idea how any one has the patience for this. I am convinced that the only people who can perform perfect royal guards on every one of Vergil's attacks (which unless i'm missing something is the only way to beat him) are robots.
Well, OK But Vergil is still his brother. And i felt like he grieved about loosing him in 1 and 3. It just feels off that Dante immediately jumps at him without saying "Hi!"
Daniel Reed
Come on dude, the only thing that should give you problems is his doppelganger phase, you don't even really need to RG him on SoS Are there any attacks that specifically give you trouble?
Logan Bennett
Sadly this. The game is still great tho
Eli Carter
>One of V's taunts is to summon a second, smaller Shadow on the palm of his hand So is Vergil going to conjure up another Griffon for Dante to hang out with, or what?
Nigger, what are you doing? Please let me know what you're struggling with so I can at least try to provide some tips. He took me ten tries on DH and ten more on SoS, but he's not that hard.
Carson Ross
I wish I wasn't so paranoid about running out of arms and could actually enjoy using them. Playing through the whole game once and rarely losing arms I had 9 MegaBusters, 6 of two other arms, then 1-3 of everything else. I love taking them into the Void but am not brave enough to use it like that in a main mission.
That taunt with V is variable. He can summon Griffon, Shadow, or even Nightmare, and they all have two different animations. V has a couple of different sayings for that taunt.
Kevin Stewart
>DMC4 >Since that day, my arm changed, and I heard a voice: "Power. Give me more power!"

>fucking lag >lag Kek, nice way of shifting the blame kiddo. You're just trash and got shit on. Also you probably mean fps drops, not lag
Easton Howard
Jump > Guard. Easy way to make the already rather generous Royal Guard timing even easier, the invincibility frames of the jump protect you while buffering the guard which will much more likely become a perfect guard.
Colton Davis
>the division wasn't complete This is pretty much confirmed in Nico's reports. V's "demonic cane" is just an ordinary cane that happens to conduct demonic power well, it has none of its own
Easton Phillips
Once you get all his skills, there's no other use for red orbs. Nero's arms are great as a money-sink once you have everything else, just load them up, and go nuts. Pasta Breaker is cool if you have it, because it rearranges your magazine when you use it, letting you pick and choose what arm you want next. Figuring that out was neat. Don't worry about overusing breakages. On your first run, you'll pick up enough of them that it won't matter, and by your third, you'll have more orbs than you can know what to do with, so you can just load up on them and never worry about running out.
Aaron Long
he's a shitter but there is lag in the true co-op stages. i've had enemies slide around and freeze up. but it never affects yourself.
That hasn't been a true i-frame cancel since 3, doing it properly means they whiff.
Carson James
How does my royal guard get broken? Wrong timing?
Nolan Rogers
>trying for 3 hours Take a break and come back and you'll crush him. Your brain needs downtime to cement the proper timings and throw out mistakes
Then you can do your victory lap with Nero
Andrew Murphy
If you guard too early, it subtracts some of your DT meter. If you are out of DT, your guard is broken by anything.
Luke Rogers
If you improperly time or just hold down RG it consumes DT. If you're out of DT you get guard broken
Perfect guarding builds massive amounts of DT
Hunter Ward
>heart racing after no continuing on SoS Vergil 19 & 20 after a few hours >not even DMD mode dopplegangers threw me off, became a battle of attrition you can do it
Imagine, a DMC type game witha cyborg protagonist and Shouji Kawamori designs. It'd be like Vanquish. But better.
Noah Cook
>a DMC type game witha cyborg protagonist Rising Revengeance?
Christian Hughes
Just stay in Trickster for now until you're more comfortable switching styles on the fly later. Focus on avoiding attack strings and then countering when they end. If you play like a bitch doing this he's pretty easy, you can always work style in later.
Samuel Howard
Gameplay wise, raiden is less of a cyborg and more of a skilled swordsman. Nero, gameplay wise, is more of a cyborg than raiden if only he had loadouts and could swap between four breakers on the dpad
Ayden Lewis
>Tfw Red Queen isn't a Devil Arm >Tfw Nero's wings don't burst into flame when you Exceed
Aaron Ward
>tfw Nero's devil trigger didn't cybernetically fuse his body and the breakers with demonic power, creating an unholy union of flesh and metal >tfw Nero's SOUL didn't fuse with the red queen as a result, turning RQ into its very own devil arm
William Rodriguez
Most disappointing thing about this game for me is the lack of costumes. Was at least hoping for coatless ones, I guess there's still a chance for DLC at least.
James Carter
It doesnt wrap anything up. Nothing fucking happens in 5
Jack King
>Vergil returns >Dante and Vergil reconcile >Dante gets his own equivalent of Sparda sword >Nero awakens to his own DT >Nero finds out about his father >Nero meets and duels his father
Nathan Lopez
It does and I've explained how it does. The feud between the Sparda brothers is over, they're at peace and are a family with Nero now. Also some other user expanded on stuff that I agree with here. If you don't like it, well it sucks to be you.
