I do, I keep on my old shit on there and new shit on Steam.
anyone got a good god mirror?
I use it since the first time Bethesda aquired Fallout rights and Interplay gave away fallout , 2 and tactics for free. Was it 2013?
Everything I might want from them, I already own on disk or cd.
Honestly I wished gog had a larger library so that I could use it as my primary online store, but steam will always be ahead since publishers want to keep enforcing drm.
And I guess steam also has a larger selection of old games since it's been around longer
>buy game
>friends buy game (on steam)
>no cross play
>refused a refund
My only reason
>steam also has a larger selection of old games
gog is the default
AVGN syndrome, be around long enough and your new shit is retro.
Only a assumption since steam has been around much longer and does have some stuff from the 90s, they just don't care about setting the games up for modern hardware, that's up to the publishers.
The classic Doom games were on steam many years before they got added to gog, for example
I don't like paying for links.
I want my games to be linked to my username and be unique.
Borrowing a gog copy of some friend has the same end result, except that I didn't spend any money.
I don't like their ToS, you don't own any game.
Even if you can directly hoard your installers it goes against their ToS.
You can also backup your games bought in other stores for offline use, not as easily as Gog's but same end result.
It is against their ToS to share games with friends, what benefit do I get for the games being DRM free then?
They don't offer as many games as other stores, their collection is quite niche.
You only get access to the latest version of the game you bought.
They claim that while they never removed any game from download, they might do so if the dev insist, so I could lose my game even if I paid for it.
They were found using cracks in some of their games.
They pander to SJW.
They are the weakest of all videogame stores meaning is the more likely to go bankrupt and nuke all my games with them.
They had to remove some pricing benefits due to them being unable to sustain them meaning they have financial difficulties at the moment.
Pick the ones you like op, please stop shilling, I don't feel safe with Gog.
I primarily try to.
Steam is always a last resort since I don't want to support nu-Valve
gog doesnt have a cool billionaire who likes out for me like papa gaben >w< me me love capitalism haha the people with lots of moneys always look out for us the people with no money hee hee :3c
cringe
even if steam had more older games, i would be surprised of more than a quarter of them actually worked
okay stupid baka commie -_- go move to cuba if you dont love billionaires like me smart democracy follower stupid idiot xD
>They are the weakest of all videogame stores meaning is the more likely to go bankrupt and nuke all my games with them.
you are braindead

GoG is dead for a fucking reason
10 years in the business and they have done nothing to oppose Steam's monopoly. Like a lot of companies, they've just been Steam's bitch boy - pic related.
Yes user, yes, good, they are clearly doing great, amazing even
gog.com
What about the other points?
Because I don't give money to homophobes.
Don't worry about gog though user it won't be around for very long.
There are no reasons as to not use GoG as a supplement to Steam. Its amazing how much GoG manages to trigger Steamcucks every fucking thread there is.
No Souls
If you want something that isn't
>Indie
>Developed by CD Project Red
>Released prior to 9/11
Then it's an uphill struggle, hence why I only use them occasionally
Why don't you just pirate games?
seriously tho
none of you actually care about giving money to the people who make the games, even though that's the only reason you should buy a game. So then, why waste thousands of $ down the line on stores, when you can just access literally any game at any time freely on any decent pirate site?
You typed up all that just to constantly contradict yourself.
I did until they dropped their fair region pricing.
Let's add a few more points here:
I like achievements.
Most of the games they sell are on their competitors stores.
I like being able to chat with friends.
The few games they sell that support any online at all have very few people on their servers, compared to their competitors at least.
I switch computers a lot so I need my saves to be on the cloud. If I have to use Gog galaxy for that, then... What's the point of them being drm free if I still need to use a launcher?
I see no benefit from Gog, at all, in fact, it feels like I'm doing THEM a favor when buying there.
They give me a game that it's guaranteed to run immediately, good, but I can also google the fix for the game if it's sold in another store, if it happens to not run, which so far never happened to me, but hoarding and sharing games is against their tos, they have a very small online community and if I want to use cool features like cloud saving I still need to use a launcher, so, at the end, what benefit at all do I get? Skipping a google search?
Yes, please, feel free to point those contradictions Phoenix
Please don't remind me of the death of GoD. What a fucking shame.
god-games . Com
But they haven't updated anything since god originally went down
>none of you actually care about giving money to the people who make the games,
This assumption is wrong so you're incorrect
i don't know how to
they made Galaxy just to cater to you faggots.
Wow, so we have to use a launcher regardless?
I just installed games without having to use it.
its the only way ive found to play psychonauts without it crashing every 5 seconds.
I believe you can only do this on the gog version. if you launch it through galaxy the game will crash a ton but if you look for the game in your folders and launch it through the exe galaxy wont open and the game will run fine. dont know what galaxy does to fuck it up but whatever
because they dont have any lionhead games
don't want to stir some autistic store war, but you are the same fags who defend Steam and GoG for taxing 1/3 of the whole PC gaming industry, for doing something that costs them less than 1% of that money
if you would actually care about your money going to the devs then you would realize that them selling games on their own stores or stores that cut less money is a much better thing than some minuscule features steam or gog offers
whats even the point when most of the links are dead?
But I do. I only use them and Humble Bundle.
Same. And yeah, it was 2013.
web.archive.org
>what benefit do I get for the games being DRM free then?
It's way easier to back up their titles.
>so I could lose my game even if I paid for it.
That's why you can back up them and play them with not Internet activation required whatsoever.
>nuke all my games with them.
Dense motherfucker.
>meaning they have financial difficulties at the moment.
Steam has way more money than GOG, yet they never did a pricing benefit like Fair Pricing Package.
It's optional.
Literally all of these are invalid even the few that are actually true.
>for doing something that costs them less than 1% of that money
Cool story, bro.
>have to
I just added the standalone installs to Steam , I don't have friends on GOG anyway and I'm not an achievement fag. I made my own dropbox/onedrive/google/box save clouds years ago when I started using a front-end for all my games and emulators. Being Steam-free just makes it easier so I buy there if possible.
A company taking more than fair off the top is shitty but the devs still collect the majority
>if you would actually care about your money going to the devs then you would realize that them selling games on their own stores or stores that cut less money is a much better thing than some minuscule features steam or gog offers
Point me in the direction of those stores
So this is the type of person that only believes what shitposters write on Yea Forums without verifying the information
Wow really emberassing dude
They haven't released regional pricing for my backwards country yet
>then you would realize that them selling games on their own stores or stores that cut less money is a much better
why do people keep pretending putting games on the internet is free? if you start your own store you still have to pay a cdn to distribute your games. you're going to have to hire or outsource customer service. you have to buy or outsource a payment processor. don't even bother pretending any of this is remotely cheap especially if you're a triple a publisher selling really popular titles.
in the old days publishers had to pay for physical copy production, shipping, store space, retail deals, etc. etc. why were you not getting mad at these people for charging a cut? why do you not get mad at sony for charging a bluray royalty for doing nothing?
The only thing that changes it's that in the past Europeans got GOGmoney when they paid more than Americans. That's not the case anymore. Lolpoor countries will still get low prices.
BTW the programs ends in March 31th.
bunch of cĂșcks
Sweeney talked about this shit years before epic store was even a thing, and how digital app and game stores actually only cost a few percent of their revenue to operate at max.
which seems to be true considering that epic can take only 7% revenue from the UE games with epic store and still make a profit (considering that they are still pushing it)
the blizzard, ubisoft or ea stores, etc.
you buyfags are extremely hostile towards devs selling their games on their own stores and not on steam/gog to the point of boycotting, even though this shit should be the standard. Like every f2p game already has it's own launcher and noone has a problem with it, devs making 1 launcher for all their games shouldn't be a bigger real either, and it would result in them taking all the money, which would potentially result in bigger production values down the line.
>can take only 7% revenue from the UE games with epic store and still make a profit
X (Doubt).
>you buyfags are extremely hostile towards devs selling their games on their own stores and not on steam/gog to the point of boycotting
I wouldn't mind buying in Origin, but the thing most of their titles aren't DRM-free at all. I would pay for PopCap's Big Money.
Every indie dev is DLC milking and doing microtransactions now so that's an addition overhead when handling distribution yourself, plus even more overhead if handling your own multiplayer infrastructure and third party anti-cheat.
Single player stuff/games where you can self host a server I get on GOG, Steam multiplayer games I have to buy on Steam if I want to play online. Everything else is usually pirate.
Yeah and I don't even have the regional pricing at all, it's still USD over here
Same as this user Older games on Steam run terribly on modern machines most of the time and require some tinkering, while GoG ones are more or less optimized, plus there are nice supplemental goodies like manuals, guides, OSTs, etc.
I pirate their stuff all the time
It's the only online game store I've spent money on since I decided to stop pirating games.
>X (Doubt).
what are you doubting?
epic takes 12% revenue normally, but for UE games they only take 7% with the store because 5% is already taken by the UE cuts, yet they still won't charge more
they still push epic store desperately, meaning that they are still making money even with these cuts, even though they are also spending more money on their store with all the exclusivity bullshit, and with still developing these superfluous features people pretend to care so much about.
They dont have good games like DMC5 or Sekirou.
the literal state of whatever the hell you are because it's contradictory as fuck, head so far up your own arse it's shocking you were even able to take it far enough to write this post
