I'm genuinely of the opinion that 100% of Golgari players literally do not know how to construct any other form of BG deck. You could be playing hardcore permanent control, you could be playing token lockdown, you could be playing Glissa artifacts, you could be playing any number of tron/combat tricks with commanders like Sapling, you could be playing Black mana dumps with extreme ramp (Exsanguinate et al.), but no, it's always the same Meren deck with the same 40 cards, the same 36 lands, and they're always incredibly boring no matter what, because a single bojuka bog will delete them from play.

Yes, once JtN hits the stack and creates its effect its no longer a spell, its a permanent with an effect. The player then dictates what is affected by that permanent.

There's some ways but you're not really supposed to. 15 mana is a riddiculous amount, most decks run 24 lands in a 60 card deck and most games are over before you even hit 7 lands. If a card that expensive doesn't basically win you the game there's no point

Bo1 is more fair in standard than anything else, but even then there's too much nexus running around.

MTG is a game designed around sideboard. Some decks have very strong game 1s, but suffer heavily postboard. Like dredge or reanimator or combo decks. Or, in this standard, nexus of fate. In Bo1, it's literally all Nexus and mono red, both decks ignoring the other and trying to kill as soon as possible. Not very fun.
