How did they recover from that? All they gave us were exclusive and ps plus which was wank

Various regions of the world have Xbox live down for a week at a time every other week.
We don't hear about that because nobody fucking owns xbones.
what was worse this or RROD?
No, we don't hear about that because no one gives a fuck about third worlders
Nobody suffered identity theft or credit card fraud as a result of RROD.
Well the RROD was never truly fixed this was completely unrelated to the ps3 hardware
This.
Also, PS3 phat models have an astronomically high failure rate too. Look up the Yellow Light of Death.
What happened to those groups like Anonymous and LulzSec?
>LulzSec
Isn't this the group where one of their own sold them all out to the FBI?
man, PSN was an absolute joke during the ps3 era. i remember my console almost locking up whenever i tried to send a message while a game was running. thank god i had a 360 so i rarely had to deal with that shit
My friends and I never once encountered a YLoD.
But we each went through about 3 Xbox 360's
going RRoD before we just gave up.
>My friends and I never once encountered a YLoD.
oh okay, i guess that means it never exists then nvm lol
>My friends and I never once encountered a YLoD.
nice blog brah where can I like & subscribe and what's your patreon lol
Not saying it never existed. But If my group and the peopel around me never experienced it than I doubt it was that high of a failure rate.
Especially against the 360's RRoD. Which you hear everyone having or personally knew someone that did have a RRoD 360.
YLoD was something I heard of from here at the ass end of the generation.
I don't view it as common.
It's only the launch fats with backward compatibility, the rest are fine.
Incorrect.
360's had 33-34% Failure rate. Not including refurbishing consoles after the RRoD.
PS3's had 5-6% Failure rates.
>the rest are fine
Nah, slims aren't too great either. Optical drives are prone to failure. Sony has never produced a reliable console.
6% is still high even if its nowhere near as high as the 360s
1 in 20 IS a high failure rate.
Most of those came after years of usage and ownership. My ps3 got the ylod after 8 years
And it was only to the Original PS2 game playing Fat PS3s.
After the newer versions came out it virtually never happened again.
that doesnt change my statement...
It does.
That's 5-6% of the launch PS3s.
Not 5-6% of total PS3's
It's essentially the same non-issue that was the launch PS4's uneven surface and grinding noises.
Which never plagued the Console again.
no its not, these numbers are from 2009
2009 wasn't the final year for the PS3.
2009 wasnt when the ps3 launched either
the free games got me into the infamous series at least so that much was nice
considering what went down though i expected a hell of a lot more though, especially compared to something like nintendo giving 20 exclusive VC games of your choice on 3ds before price cuts as a sorta of "early adopters" bonus, and that didn't involve potentially having your info stolen and used by some random fuck in god knows where
I had a PC and a 360 like an adult, so I barely even noticed. The free games were neat though.
RROD easily. MS wouldn't even be upfront about it until they were staring down a multi-billion dollar class action lawsuit.
>Butthurt Xniggie still pushing this bullshit
Try harder. Early 3-fix-mes have a 50% failure rate.
>MS wouldn't even be upfront about it until they were staring down a multi-billion dollar class action lawsuit.
That's not true at all. What went on at Microsoft during the incident is well documented. They weren't concerned about class action lawsuits, they were concerned about damage to the brand. For that reason they did a voluntary recall at astronomical cost to the company. More than a class action lawsuit probably would have cost them.
Just a reminder here, the only console manufacturer to have been taken to court in a class action lawsuit and lost the case is Sony.
Wrong, Asher.

>Lawsuits were filed in Illinois in 2005 and in California the next year against Microsoft; the latter sought $5 million in damages. In December 2006, Microsoft extended the Xbox 360 warranty for U.S. and Canadian buyers from 90 days to one year; as in today's announcement, Microsoft said then that it would reimburse customers who had paid for out-of-warranty repairs.

>Big news from Microsoft today. After a year and a half of denying that Xbox 360's hardware defects were anything out of the ordinary,
If they actually gave a fuck they wouldn't have pushed out hardware they knew had a 50% failure rate to get a year's jump on the competition. Funny thing is? They still ended up last.
