I hate the fact publikeks throw that word around, "Shipped" like they sold copies, and sadly every single one does. And at times they have the gull to say, "X game sold 5 million" and usually will follow up with "Same game has shipped 10 million!" as if that's supposed to be a good thing. Demand like that after the game has passed a three month threshold either means unsold copies for a full year or more or they're just going to drop the mark up on its price.

Its why I don't trust the likes of crapcom worth a shit anymore.

They sold copies to retailers. The thing is retailers do their best to anticipate demand, because warehouse space/shelf space is expensive as balls. and tracking every single sale from every single retailer is impossible.

Steamspy is not trustworthy for sales anymore due to valve defauling accounts to private and steamspy not picking up information from said accounts.

The entire point is that shipments are not sell throughs and everyone acts like they are. Capcom saying "we shipped 5 million units of MHW globally" does not mean that 5 million people purchased the game, but its what retards read it as. Not only that but unsold copies of games get shipped back to the publisher, it isn't final at the initial shipment after going gold. By your idiot logic, every game ever made was a success because of the dumb shipments argument. I only ever see capcom shills make this argument.

stramspy doesnt give exact numbers anymore unless signed up, but it still gives a range of where it did, like under 200k or above 200k but under 500k, or over 500k but under 1m etc
