I thought it was a meme myself at first but after getting used to it for a while, other shooters/BR's feel lacking in comparison.Nothing more annoying then losing a game because someone has the stronger position that you can't do anything about.
Building gives you the ability to control what happens to yourself in game which is obviously a desirable experience.

Learn to box up and play lowground ? Its been overpowered for a while now. You'll never see top players building unnecessarily, 90% of fights are decided in a 1x1 area.

Gunplay and building, for people who *understandably* don't want to learn how to build like an autist the gunplay is very shitty, plus the skillgap has been widenig since Season 2, back then you could not be able to build at all and easily win but now, if you don't know how to build, you're not really going to be having much fun.

Considering the material cost to defensively build up to someone holding high ground + the angle they have on you versus getting up to a mountain or high area before hand, highground definitely matters. In the desert area where there are tons of mountains that you can only build/jump pad up to, having the mountains before anyone else is incredibly important. I won't lie and say that positioning definitely does matter less, though.

I wouldn't even mind the building if the weapons felt good to shoot, at the end of the day only the shotgun and the sniper are worth it, since you'll never kill anyone half decent with an AR, you say is annoying to lose because someone has a better position, but is far more annoying to shoot someone in the back just for you to miss half of your shots because RNG and have to deal with a castle 2 seconds laters just because most weapons are complete garbage

fortnite is even more broken with each new item, you can just skate all the match without dealing with anybody nowadays.

Day 1 plane was insanely OP. Collisions would send a player 200 meters away, and the plane took zero damage running into anything, turret was extremely accurate. Got 19 kills 1 game almost all of them were just smacking people off builds with a plane. Hamsterballs are amazing desu

my build fights rarely get crazy, if i have high ground ill stop them from building up with floor/cones and edit-> pump them, if they have high ground and i can't retake, i'll try for lowground shots/knock them out and/or turtle/ bait them to come down.

I don't know what insect people you're playing against but the people I play against have human reflexes. If you have decent aim and they have good reflexes you can get off at minimum 2 shots (their time to react starts from the first shot, and from that you can get off another shot before they can process and build), and at most, 3. The prenerf Heavy AR could headshot someone for 96 with incredibly tight bloom.

I don't know what platform you play on, but on consoles, the planes mounted MGs were bugged and incredibly inaccurate. They were lasers on PC. Plane could also boost through structures and instabreak them without detriment, and if you hit someone with the plane and they weren't on terrain, they got bumped really high up and died from fall damage. The only real nerf the plane needed was to not be able to boost through structures. It was best against 1x1 towers but it was very effective to third party an ongoing fight or to intercept a person healing.

I dont mind building counters. Everything I listed were building killers. Clingers are fine, although I think 10/stack is a bit much because you can just spam them at someone.

i like the idea behind being able to build and destroy. it decreases camping in buildings because you are less worried about being caught in the open with no cover, and if you ARE camping in a corner people can knock your building down. but as people have gotten better at building and editing, and especially with the advent of turbobuilding, the game has evolved into being less and less of a shooter. playing against a "good" player is less about who has the better aim, and more about who can build-edit-pump faster. trying to fight someone when they're turtling in a box holding down turbobuild is not fun at all and as far removed from being a game about shooting guns as i can imagine.

building is what makes fortnite unique, but it is also what makes it unfun to play.

Growing up, this would have been my dream game. It's actually very well done and conducive towards playing with friends.
Still, I wouldn't trade Fortnite for CS 1.6.

It's kind of today's equivalent of WoW, cartoony, aimed towards a younger audience, tons of media coverage, most kids at school play it and much more casual than the competitors.

Because it’s fun. Getting solo wins is pretty satisfying, the game is best when there’s like 5+ people still alive when the safe zones get really small and start moving. I’ve managed over 100 solo wins and I play 1-2 hours a week at most. Its much more enjoyable once you get good at the mechanics.

I prefer Crackshot since his Commander perk equates to a much higher bonus (145% damage at max stacks) compared to Bulletstorm Jonesy (50% damage). I actually don't care for the fire rate increase since it just makes me feel like I'm losing ammo faster

They are prone to change, however. Overtaker Hiro for some reason had the same face as Havoc/Raptor in STW but when BR let you take off his helmet, he has the Sushimaster's face. They already said that they're going to be changing the STW version to match so they could do the same for any other changes to BR skins that have STW equivalents.
