Nintendo Pocket Switch

>NPS for Nintendo pocket switch
>Launch planned for May/June 2019
>I've heard about 3 "bundles" (Let's go, Mario kart 8, Smash bros)
>Cheaper model but stronger battery life
>Lcd screen apparently... 720p

You are mentally ill seek help

You're lying, but it would sell like hotcakes along with an Animal Crossing game.

I know you're pulling this out of your ass, but I would buy one in a heartbeat.

The switch pocket wouldn't be powerful enough to run switch games.

The switch isn't powerful enough to run switch games

Why wouldn't the D-pad just be a regular D-Pad?

The only reason it uses buttons on the Joycon is just so it can mirror the other Joycon when used sideways. There'd be no reason for it to not just be a regular D-pad like on the pro controller.

the fucking grooves in the bottom...this would dock too?

Yeah, they're planning on releasing hardware in two months that they haven't announced yet, makes total sense.

>let's go bundle
>when the gimmick of let's go is throwing pokeballs
>since you can't do since there are no joycons

Attached: IMG_2160.jpg (786x500, 64K)

>Invest millions in designing the Joycons
>Design most of your games around multiplayer via the Joycons and extra shit like Labo
>Invalidate all of that by making a new unit
It simply isn't happening.

I'd buy it, honestly. $200 and i'd be out there day 1. I just don't care about docking because I already have a device for at home, my fucking computer. Also the built in joycons because god damn those little fuckers are impossible to hold if you're not asian or under the age of 15.

Clearly not. That's the point of it.

If they introduced slide pads I'd be so mad. I would love a more portable Switch, but slide pads are absolute garbage and I want actual thumbsticks.

>no d-pad
if it was $200 i would buy it

i'd rather have a non-portable version with slightly better specs

Fuck me, that d-pad looks awful, what in the fuck were they thinking?

the whole device seems to be around the same length of the original's tablet on its own, so, maybe?

>can't even play let's go with a pro controller
>bundle it with a console that doesn't have removable joycons and likely can't play it

Fake.

If they make a handheld-only Switch, they best make a TV-only one too. I'm not an autist so I have no need for portable video games

There's more chance of a 2DS HD than a Switch Mini.

A pocket sized Switch would be great which is why I know it's not real

aren't there games that are required to play in portable mode, though? How are they going to account for that in a tv-only model?

It's like 2 games, so it's not a huge issue. And the same reasoning is would affect a handheld-only version releasing, at least one in the format of that picture (with non-removable joycons).

Let's be honest here, it would sell like hotcakes.

Why would someone eschewing handheld gaming care about hendheld only games?

instead of making a TV-only switch, they make a pro dock with eGPU

I can't imagine a switch revision being anything more than a decrease in bevel and a 1080p screen. It would make sense to keep the same form factor for compatibility with existing joycons.

If it were priced right. I think $300 is way too much for a Nintendo handheld to ever return to DS-like numbers

if it was bundled with mario maker 2 id buy 2.
one just dick around with and one to keep on release firmware just to have the biggest chances for it to be hacked. then if it is hacked ill sell the first one.

>pro dock with eGPU
Doubt it would work without a Switch revision

Regular switch is already $300 and does just fine. Pocket switch would likely be ~$200 and that shit will fly off the shelves with Pokemon

Doesn't the switch run USB-C?

>Regular switch is already $300 and does just fine.
DS sold 26 million units in its second year and Switch didn't even hit 20

I would only buy if there was an atomic purple model, otherwise I’d stick to the current one

Arguably. It is a USB C PORT, but it doesn't follow the standards of one

I'd sooner buy one that can only be played on TV.

I've never even played a switch in handheld mode.

>Nintendo Switch
>can't switch from console to handheld
>can't even share joycons
Only a retard would buy this shit

USB-C doesn't automatically mean thunderbolt, and even devices with eGPUs require full reboots when switching to the different video backend. it would totally defeat the purpose of the seamless switching capability.

A purely handheld Switch would work if they somehow made the battery last longer than 3 fucking hours.

>that 1999 aesthetic

Attached: imac-colors.jpg (640x334, 126K)

>face buttons instead of a dpad
year sure, fuck off

>forced shit d-pad
>those awful 3ds type analogs that suck to use

handheld mode makes it normal retard

I have thousands of hours on each Nintendo handheld, all played comfy in bed, wrapped up in a blanket at two in the morning where everything is quiet and relaxing.
I can't do this with a Switch because the console is stupidly huge and fragile.

If they fix this so I can play the Switch in bed while comfy, I'll buy it day one.

>A "Switch" that doesn't switch

Yeah Nintendo created a handheld/home console hybrid just so they could just reduce it to a handheld in two years.

usbc isn't fast enough to transfer data from an external GPU, nintento really fucked up by not giving it lightning and futureproofing it

>A "3DS" that doesn't 3D

Just get a smaller dock dilbert

it's gonna be called nintento stay

It's been confirmed multiple times by credible news outlets you stupid fuck.

What did he mean by this?

switch is a retarded name anyway

Handhelds are the only thing Nintendo fans care about. The fact that it has HDMI-out is a fucking gimmick. It's nothing but a portable Wii U, it has the same look, same games, same features, only it's portable, and it sells instead of bombs, what does that tell you

Sadly Nintendo refuses to let us play their games any differently than the way they intend us to play them.

They're already selling consoles without the dock as an option in Japan

Hardware wise, it has very little to do with the WiiU.
I mean, unlike the WiiU, it supports SIMD processing, like every other hardware released since 2000.

That would probably be cheaper than a pocket switch too. No screen, No battery, No Dock.

>NiPS
based

The non-3d version is called the 2DS dumbass.

Indeed. They should had stick with the prototype name: Nintendo NX

>aren't there games that are required to play in portable mode, though
Are there? Which?

>DS sold 26 million units in its second year and Switch didn't even hit 20
20 million isn't bad at all, no company would consider this a failure, especially compared to something like the Wii U.
Times were also different, DS didn't have to compete with mobile.

That's not at all the point of comparing it to the wii U.

This has already been confirmed. Why is everyone acting surprised? It's the perfect revision to launch in the time frame of Animal Crossing and Pokemon Britbong.

Which ones? :)

Indeed, but the hardware do make a shitton of difference to the WiiU, due the thing being from a programming standpoint a really slow PS4.
This allow developers to copypaste games to the switch in a scarily easy way, which in many cases lead to shit like ARK.

crazy they did not fix the dpad on the top right, still too small to be usable

How does Nintendo do it?
>kill videogames with wagglan
>gamers HATED wagglan
>Wii U flops failing to capture iPad audience
>reveal the Switch literally with Wiimote 2.0 and win people over
>11 years later rehash wagglan and sell it back to you
>13 years later rehash Wii U tablet and sell it back to you
>winning by shoving Wii U and Xbox 360 and Steam indie ports down your throats
>selling said ports at full pop and no one questions it
>gets into online subscription fad but has no competent network infrastructure and incentive model to back it up
Do not underestimate the power of Nintendo

>Let's Go is pretty aggressive with its motion controls
>make a bundle for the updated console with the Joy-Cons soldered to it

Attached: 1537920063194.png (882x722, 37K)

I would buy it desu.

innit just a Plus button like on the wii

Isn't this just an underpowered PSP?

Is like a PSVita but with games.

i would unironically finally buy a switch if this is true

>GBA phat and GBA SP can play GB/GBC games
>DS phat and DS lite can play GBA games
>3DS can play DS games
>Switch can't play 3DS/DS games
>surprised that Nintendo's legion of handheld owners haven't hopped on the Switch in record numbers yet

>he unironically likes joycons
get cancer and die

Is not DS the best selling handheld ever made? Unfair move, user

what is the 2DS?

Yeah they would never release a cheaper model that invalidates a main gimmick. *looks nervously at the Japanese hardware charts were the 2DS LL destroyed 3DS.

I don't see how this could work. First of all that doesn't look remotely pocket sized. Second of all from what I understand the Switch's internals are ridiculously tightly packed together. As in it's hard to make the thing even smaller. Then they would have to retroactively start labelling games like Super Mario Party as detachable/external joycon only. Though I'll admit this is way more feasible than a Switch Pro.

>destroyed the 3DS
The O3DS, not the Nu New 3DS

Wow, only Mario Party and 1 2 switch

While everything else can be played with single joy on, double joy com, pro and more

Nice argument faggot

semi-convincing fake, but lol

Attached: 3.png (1345x753, 826K)

>stronger battery life
so 4 hrs?

3ds style slider pads? Hello satan.

This. They even stopped making games in 3D.
Nintendo would gladly release a 'cheaper model that invalidates a gimmick', but only after several years of losses.

Looks like a Vita but with cheaper materials and a crappy screen

5-6

3DS games did not depend of the 3D, meanwhile, a lot of Switch games depend on the joycons.

Did anyone ever use the 3D on the 3DS? I thought it was just a dumb gimmick you tried one time and then turned off to save battery life.

It was incredibly good in Super Mario 3D Land and ALBW. Played those 2 exclusively in 3D.

Depends on the game.
Some implemented it really well. Some put zero thought into it and made it look like shit.

Lmao this fucking user based and woke.

I used the 3D constantly, I don't think I ever turned it off honestly.

Yes, and it's a stupid ass product. Just like a non switching switch would be retarded

Can't say I don't agree. Each switch game I have played I enjoyed in concept but they aren't very stable.

>circle pads
How about no

ITS CALLED SWITCH CUZ IT ONLY HAS PORTS

Ds compete with the iphone dumbass

>my switch cant run gb/gbc/ds/3ds games
He doesnt know
