I think arc V is fine as far pacing goes, its got like clear signs of the grander plot like in the first 12 episodes so that's a nice change

At some point they had to lessen efforts on animations and story (synchro dimension) since most of the team was busy with the movie. After that it simply didn't met expectetion. Also I think the trainwreck of the final arc pretty much killed the enthusiasm from the production team since the new series is just as dull if not worse.

I'd agree that early Xyz, which had all of the options of Synchro but without all of the annoying Xyz that saturated the game for years to come, was probably the best time in the game's history. There was lots of variety for the most part and the powerlevel and speed wasn't obscene. I'd also argue that the timeframe post-D.Ruler hit and pre-HAT was one of the more fun formats of the game.

No, the dubbed version of Season 1 is PURE kino, it really shows off absolute madlad moments any campyness of the show compared to the sub. However, anything after the Season 1 dub isn't so based anymore.

Almost none of that is true though. Fusions were shit for fucking years and never got decent until like Gladiator Beasts or Gem Knights. GX didn't make Fusions a staple by any means because most of the fusions were over-restricted garbage. A lot of the cards designed in that era were. It was weaker than the original YuGiOh era. Speaking of which, decent monsters weren't limited to fusions at all because most fusions were, again, shit. Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon not only was garbage, but it didn't actually get imported outside of Japan until after Blue Eyes Shining Dragon (which was also awful). Egyptian Gods were always shit cards which didn't even get playable releases until around the 5Ds era and Exodia was only played in gimmicky bullshit decks. 5Ds didn't have broken fusions and instead had the far more playable and balanced Synchros, which only got insane toward the end of 5Ds with decks like Plant Synchro. Pendulum didn't elevate shit because it was only decent in dedicated Pendulum decks that abused Xyz summoning more than anything. It didn't buff Synchros or Fusions at all.

You use a single face-up Tuner monster (a subtype listed alongside a monster's type) and any number of face-up non-Tuner monster to make a new monster by adding their levels up to the level of the desired monster. Synchro monsters are kept in the extra deck and can be accessed at any time as long as you have the required materials on the field. It's like fusion like user said, but less of a card disadvantage since you don't have to have specific monsters or Polymerization. Some Synchros have more specific requirements like needing a certain number of monsters, certain types/attributes, or certain archetypes/names, but you get the basic idea.

Vrains is the hugest step back in Yugioh history. It severely limited most decks and only a small handful have gotten their own link to try and be playable again. Giving older archetypes their own link is nice and all, but sometimes the link is shit and doesn't help them play much better. Meanwhile there's shit like Extra Link which can completely lock you out of the extra deck if your opponent decides to jerk off for 10 minutes on their first turn and set up like 3 negates and fill their hand and board. Links are the easiest to spam card type in the history of the game. They're worse than full power Plant Synchro/Dark Synchro/Junk Doppel.

What makes it even worse was that the tournament wasn't even single elimination, meaning that the loss wouldn't have even been the figurative/literal end of the world.

That fucking moment and Duel was truly the lowest point of 5D's.

It's not really gacha since you're opening packs from a set pool where you know the numbers of the cards per pack. You can guarantee getting a card with enough currency, so it's not purely hoping you get lucky. That's not to say Duel Links doesn't have a lot of issues, but it's not really gacha.

The only thing I find weird about them is that Konami waited 10 fucking years to finally print the family, with a 7 year gap between Trinity and Vyon.
It's kind of neat actually that Witch Raider sort of foreshadowed that the others would get eventually released. It's just that no one really caught on to that because there had never been any monsters in the game that can place themselves in the S/T Zone as a Trap, let alone have an effect that activates from there. And no, Trap Monsters aren't the same.

Shaddolls really got a bad deal. They got their best fusion outright banned from 3 straight to 0, but not because they were tier 1 (because they weren't at the time), but because people were still making variants of Shaddoll decks and they stuck around longer in the meta than Konami wanted them to. Nevermind that Burning Abyss have hung on since they came out and STILL find ways to adapt and they get an actually good link monster while Shaddolls get garbage.

you should play them in order since there are massive differences in the plot compared to the anime and it fixes a lot of shit since it gives more development to the characters.
the biggest issues with the anime is that the cast is so big that everyone starts to suffer from character development since there is no time.
Obelisk blue blair is an amazing route that is exclusive to tf3 and closes her character pretty well. you get to actually know about the side characters
