But if you give her something that just sucks up magic with a downright bottomless thirst, you have a fucking unstoppable magical girl who must consume literally everything or go nuts, which only makes her consume more due to a lack of restraint.

And then you have an unstoppable all-consuming wormgirl with zero reservations about doing literally ANYTHING, because for all intents & purposes, she's kind of turning into a god.

Tokiomi actually believed that he was doing Sakura a favour since she was born with an extremely rate (yet mostly useless) element and would likely have been targeted by the Mage Association for a Sealing Designation then endless experimentation.

Mage families will often have two children in case the main heir dies before taking on the crest. It just so happens that with Rin and Sakura that they were both born with incredibly rate and interesting elements. As Sakura's role in the eyes of the association was to only ever be an emergency crest backup they would have had no qualms in taking her and sealing her.

It had a "True end" or "Normal end". If you are referring to the "True end", its decent but completely eclipsed by both UBW endings and by Last Episode.

Last Episode in particular was best. Especially for the characters involved. Shirou literally became batman in life; never needed support from the planet so never did an Archer and kept his promise to his waifu allowing him to end up with her in their own personal afterlife.

She was never going to be trained in magecraft as a Tohsaka as mages only hand their Crest (the sum total of their entire family history's efforts on magecraft) to their first born.

They have second children in case the first one dies and to provide for arranged mage marriages.

Rin and Sakura were bon with incredibly rare elements. Both of these elements would have been extremely prized by the accociation. Rin, as the heir of the family; was afforded complete protection as no mage not the accociation will mess with the family heir. This is not the case for any other child born after the first.

The Association would have heard about Sakura's element. They would have then issued a sealing designation on her which is something no mage could go against. This would have allowed them to take her for themselves and basically turn her into experimental material due to her Imaginary Numbers element.

Tokiomi's logic was that the only way for Sakura to survive was to make her the heir of another mage family so that she was afforded the same protection as Rin. This is why he gave her to the Matous.

Sakura was dealt a shit hand from the beginning, really.

His apparent altruism at the beginning of the series is revealed as such as time goes on, and culminates in his final death-scene fever dream showing his delusion. Saving Sakura was a vehicle to his own happiness and a path to get back together with her mother since it meant killing Tokiomi, it was never actually for her sake.

Could Kerry have just wished for Iri to be revived normally without anyone else dying after he saw what his desire for peace would bring?

Maybe Shinji would still be around and Rider would be secretly collaborating with Shirou to save her real master.
Rider's backstory and understanding her monstrous nature would also play a role.
The serious Rider scenes in F/HA feel like they were developed from ideas for the original Rider route, so you might see something similar, but with Shirou being the one to convince Rider of why she became a servant.
