How is a case made?

Generally through google docs. People either pre-write a case with all the evidence, a map and profiles or they do it the cool kids way by dropping an empty doc in an area and brainstorming a case with everyone else.

You go into an empty rom and add an empty case template (Pick one it doenst matter docs.google.com
Then you write the name of the character you will play as in the box for the role you want.
Then you start filling up whats needed for a case. You need a victim, a defendant and some evidence. The important part here is to not try to solve the case. Just write stuff and let the people improvise aruond whatever you wrote.
Usually at this point other people are joining and adding stuff.
When all the roles have people assigned to it youre ready to start.

There sometimes are "metas" though, but they aren't always followed and it is more guidelines, like the first witness is usually supposed to direct so they get dismissed with minimal suspicion while giving a cause to point to second witness and so on. The attorney WILL try to indict any and every witness whenever possible, The Prosecutor will bully the attorney and cut off rants and badgering, the Judge will demand explanations and try to keep both from entertaining impossibilities.
Detective may have found CASE CHANGING EVIDENCE that may or may not be accepted by the judge if called back.
Who actually did it is kinda like passing around a bomb with a lit fuse and try to pass it to the defendant by logically explaining why the defendant is the perpetrator while the lawyer passes it back by countering the argument and making you look suspicious, some people may decide "Im the killer" from the get go but still have a rough idea of their manufactured alibi, sometimes TWO people will do that.
Basically the goal is to explain the scenario without getting indicted yourself (getting a guilty verdict for the attorney).
The best cases have the defendant as one of the witnesses, but most don't bother.
