And Metal Gear Solid is supposed to be possible alternate history too, every game painstakingly reminds you of this.

when a dev makes a character they think will be fun and that character is a minority nobody cares because it was made for fun and it shows.

Notice how nobody complains about cole train from gears, barret from ff7, or sgt johnson from halo because they werent made for good boy points, they were made because they are fun
