Whats the point of Quadruple S? Most of SDT attacks have long windup, I found that you only get the drill stinger or 2-3 sword slashes before SDT gauge starts depleting and you're locked again

Parry them with Revolver (Dante), Helm Splitter (Nero) when they show you their red claw and the air forward+attack(Nero) for every other attack they do. Practice the timing in the void, hit them until they fall down, grapple them into the air and buster them with nero. For Dante just get some strong hits in and shoot them with KA to get a couple more hits in before they teleport. RG works well against them too but it nets you less style points.

They pussied out with V. They knew their fanbase, they knew how recalcitrant we are to new characters or change.
And so they pre-emptively killed him off in case we didn't like him, they feared a Lucia situation.
But imagine if he was simply another demon hunter, his own character he could have become a fixture. And god know he's cool enough to walk beside Nero and Dante.

They have 3 moves, go to the void and learn to parry them. One of their attacks has a ground variant and two air variants so its not QUITE as easy as it sounds, but you get used to it faster than you'd think.
It's annoying on Nero but piss easy on Dante:

My go to combo for Dante is
>backwards flipkick to parry
>air trick immediately

>real impact
>ground trick
>gunslinger double kalina ann maximum cascade
>one I hit triple S I activate quadruple S for a SDT sin stinger
>ends with them still on the ground, you can just real impact again to restart the combo
This is void stuff but it worked for me in SoS when I tried it out

Nero's combo for me is basically after the parry (regular ground attack, follow up immediately if you whiff it), red queen combo D followed by buster

I feel like the summoned swords in swordmaster work best if you just press the attack and style button at the same time for everything.

I actually feel like they did the opposite of pussying out. Keeping him is the safer option, creating a character with an innovative playstyle and "killing" him off is not just ballsy, it's devilish.

knuckle gives style too, and stops enemies from getting ragdolled away from you

go to void and observe their patterns.
if you attack them without interrupting/blocking/parrying their attacks first, they just turn invisible so avoid that.
watch their arm, whether or not they have their blade out telegraphs the category of their next move.
if they start a combo as a result of you not interrupting their attack, don't use lock-on because it'll make you dodge in the wrong direction; just jump away from them.
as an example for nero: while charging the gun, parry an attack, then shoot, jump, snatch, buster.

also, sometimes they just zip around without even attacking you, but you can damage them when they finish that move

Quad S removes the startup for one thing so its faster. I get that if you're already at SSS there's no point beating around the bush and can initiate with it, but I don't think there's ever a situation where you will start a fight with a Fury at SSS.

I disagree. They created a new character whose visual and playstyle design bucks the typical DMC trends. This is the first time we have a slower paced, bookish playable character in a franchise the appeal of which are chads with magical swords. They gave him personality, his own arc that doubly works as the personification of Vergil's inner conflict. They don't even kill him off, they let him succeed. It's not Urizen who merges with V, instead V plays Nero and Dante like chumps. I just don't see it as safe at all, compared to Nero who to me felt like Dante Lite in 4, fortunately he comes into his own in 5.

You're asking a scrub about this so someone else might be better at answering but I used Royal guard + Balrog and stuck close to him. Cav also seems to work since it staggers him a lot pre-DT. WIth his 3 barriers I took them down with SDT for the first one you spawn in on, Punching it a lot for the second, and breaking it with another SDT for the last one when he's DT as well. When he tries to blow you away after making the second barrier you can just RG it. Generally speaking his close range attacks have a long enough recovery that even IF you get guard broken there will rarely be an attack fast enough to capitalize on it. That said it does help to learn the RG timing for the chasing tentacle attack or hell any of the attacks just so you have a bit of a buffer. The slam attack was the one I usually managed to perfect block.

I just wish Rebellion and Sparda weren't gutted move wise in favor of DSD, at the very least do what they did for Nero and give unlockable moves for both of them after beating the game.

Give Rebellion all the moves it had in DMC3, so give it back Drive, Sword Pierce and the Crazy Dance for Sword Macabre. Then give Sparda more moves where it extends into Scythe form and the moves Trish had for it in 4SE.

How hard is DMD compared to SOS? I only struggled with Vergils on SOS

He was a means to an end. He occupied the same role all secondary characters do in these games. Relevant for plot, you might get to play as them in one game. But ultimately just kind of there for future games if that. V would be the most pointless out of all of them considering Vergin is back and a part of the team now.

I guess my opinion is just that I don't see it as wasted effort, because he exists in 5 as a (in my opinion) great character with a fun, novel, even if casual playstyle. He will always exist in this game, he's not going anywhere. That's exactly why I think keeping him is the safer option, because one would be afraid to let that effort go to waste. I'm the kind of person who doesn't like TV series that keep characters on for the status quo/because they're loved though, so we probably won't see eye to eye.

Basically you need to maintain a close enough distance to enemies otherwise shadow will just stop attacking
Dodge to call them back to you to stop them from getting one shotted by everything
DT all the fucking time because your damage is garbage without it
Read the book as much as possible to always have DT
Don't use Shadow's stinger. It does fuck all damage and you do it constantly if you try to manoeuvre V and attack at the same time
Griffin's Lock on + Forward + Shoot attack is great for launching enemies into the air for V to finish off without getting fucked by other enemies
If you have multiple enemies ready to be finished off then you can switch target as your finishing one, hit Lock on + Cane to instantly teleport to and finish off the next enemy which also skips the animation of killing the first enemy

DMD as V is annoying. Enemies have too much health and he doesn't really have any good damaging tools, Nightmare is too slow and you better save him for summon reviving. I spent like 10 minutes fighting those knight squad at the end of mission 7. AI Nero died right away and killing those knights as V takes forever especially the Proto guy. Replayed same mission as Nero and even got co-op with V player and we raped them extremely fast. Kinda neat when the co-op works.

Guys, im pretty good at the game, consistently get SSS on most fights on higher difficulties, but how do I Jump cancel

How can you not stay in the air for 15 seconds in this game? Enemy jump is a thing and jump cancel in this game is really easy, or just burst out cavaliere.

if you have enemy step and trickster level 2 you can keep using all your air moves (air hike, air dash) then teleport onto an enemy and enemy step off them to reset your movement

It's more likely that capcom had already prepared a denuvoless exe for when they eventually removed it after denuvo became cracked but some dingus uploaded it too early so everybody got it instead.

well you said that you had to relearn the new moveset which took you a while longer then expected. and also not being able to do those moves on command does change it up, which is why you need to learn to ADAPT thats literally the simplest i can put it.

Round Trip DSD (called Round Trips in game) is the best thing added to Dante in forever, jesus christ it’s so useful. And the neutral circle swordmaster move as well, you can stinger enemies and not have them fly away from the move’s finisher.

take out cavalier then wall jump on the wall behind you. mash Y/triangle for 15 seconds. might need swordmaster air B/Square just to maintain height for the final second.

Pet Protection is easy to do on a replay after you've bought upgrades. All upgrades just takes time since it also includes the 3 million Ex Provocation taunts. Gambler is easy to do once you buy some upgrades that make it more expensive to use. Mission 7 with no breaker is easy, mission 11 not so much because you have to win with just Royal Guard.

3 SDT sword slashes do obscene levels of damage and breaks literally everything.
SDTs launcher does obscene levels of damage on top of stunning everything and you can circle to whatever you hit and get a second of stinger before you swap back
SDT air stinger for tuns of fun and style

The launcher alone is outrageous. You can't obviously use your black hole move or your SDT ending move because they take too long and end your SDT but the launcher which stuns every single non boss in the game is pretty good.

Well, DmC's definitive edition had a "true style" difficulty that required you to be at S rank or higher to hurt enemies. Maybe some kind of difficulty that actually requires you to mix things up, or make it SSS only damage.
