Is it really that bad?

No, it was actually something unique and tried to make the series more than just a Mario wanna-be which is why fans hated it

no, people were just salty it wasnt banjo threeie. it's not the same kind of game as banjo 1 and 2, and shouldnt have been a banjo game, but its not bad

I thought it was fucking god tier. seriously, if Nintendo tried something like this with Mario making a vehicle creater game where you complete challenges by making the best vehicle to suit the challenge id be all over that shit. it hurts that no one else has really tried this formula and with Rare's charm everything felt especially fun.

The reason I hate Nuts and Bolts isn't because of how different the gameplay is. It's because of how it completely shat all over the worldbuilding from Tooie.

It rewards creativity but its menu elements and ui are awkward at best. Its super comfy and fun to build shit, there is a lot more content than most games nowadays. Its not a platformer, but definitely not a racing game, do try it op

The game was fantastic and one of the greatest tragedies of having my 360 stolen. It was about solving problems using creative approaches to vehicle design. I loved just sandboxing in my car/plane/boat, hitting the self destruct and ejecting so I could float gently to safety with my little balloon. Organic fun.

Im not very creative when it comes to literally anything so yeah not really my jam but for turbo autists like people qho like minecraft it's fun

People will say shit like “it was unique” “it wasn’t legos” “it was a bad banjo kazooie game but a good game” but it’s not.
It’s fundamentally flawed.
All the levels lack unique characters, characters have no context just payed throughout, the levels lack landmarks and interesting things to do, the missions are repetitive, almost every mission just requires a faster car or a sticky ball, the game dosent reward creativity or experimentation, it lacks the charm or humor, the graphics are ugly, almost every character that returns from banjo is misused or changed completely, the game is way too long even if you’re not 100%ing it, the overworld is generic and boring, the physics are too floaty and sporadic for a game dependent on physics, and there’s are many mechanics that don’t go anywhere. It really is a flawed game that shows Rare descent. A lot of these problems also exist in Yooka laylee.

>Empty, unmemorable, hard to traverse worlds.
>Missions that don't reward creativity
>Awful driving
Yeah, even ignoring the blatant IP misuse, its a below average game.
The novelty of building awesome cars that shoot lasers wears off when you realize the most fun you'll have with them is driving around the testing area.

>>Missions that don't reward creativity

There are so many things wrong with N&B but this is by far the biggest. You could get almost all the jiggies you needed to beat the game with the starting vehicle.

yeah

There are too many moments like the following;
>A race? Better put another engine on my current vehicle
>I need to carry something large? Better put the large tray on my current vehicle
>I need to escort someone? Better put a passenger seat on my current vehicle

Here's your childhood bro

And you basically just described the three types of missions there are in the game. They all fall into those categories.

But hey, at least the game isn't just walking around collecting dumb shit right? Who would play that?

It's like playing DMC. You could just kill enemies as fast as you can the efficient way or you can try for SSS combos and be sexy. The player who enjoys the latter has fun with trying new things in N&B.

>enter level
>loading screen
>travel to mission area
>talk to npc
>loading screen
>see mission requirements, go to change vehicle
>loading screen
>put basic contraption such as net or sticky ball on front of my turbo powered rocket car with wings
>save design
>loading screen
>back to mission select, time to start mission
>loading screen
>complete mission
>loading screen
>menu, exit level to hubworld
>loading screen
>walk 2 feet to different instance of same level
>loading screen
>travel to same npc is different mission area
>loading screen

Repeat, repeat, repeat.

i liked building wacky shit online with my buds. once i made a flying n64, and the cartridge was hooked up to it with those hitches you could disconnect so it could pop out and fly on it's own.

AAAND IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII...

I appreciate this game because it killed off the series so banjo wont be in smash

It was a good game that made the same mistake Star Fox Adventures made. In a drought of traditional Banjo-Kazooie games, people didn't want a spin-off about customvehicle creations. The game itself was solid, but because people had already been waiting 8 years for Banjo Threeie, fans weren't happy. Hopefully one day fans will get Threeie and then people might finally mellow out about N&B.

No. It is a wonderful game, I've 100% completed the game and I love it. I love every single bit of it. It fits perfectly in the Banjo series and is a great Banjo threeie. It's got flaws, all the prebuilt challenges are kind of a miss step to me to force gimmicks rather than nurture creativity but this game. God damn it, it's so good.

Banjo-Tooie may be my favorite game ever but nuts and bolts is definitely number 2 on that list. I fucking adore it, even in the context of it being Banjo-Kazooie 3.

Building badass mecha and aircraft and other wack vehicles >>> boring ass collectathons
>this is bai-
Shut the fuck up, no retro Banjo game let me build a helicopter forklift with lasers on it

holy SHIT

I, for one, just want to shoot things, Honk poster

As a sandbox game it's actually incredibly good. If you've got the creativity/autism there's hours and hours of fun to be had just coming up with crazy cars to make.

Unfortunately the actual structured part of the game is weak. The only levels worth being in after you've finished the challenges are the first world and the testing world. The challenges themselves are very easy to complete. Even the bonus 'dev times' aren't too hard.

It's garbage, but zoomers who grew up with that generation are now the main demographic on Yea Forums, so you'll see a lot of praise for it.

They hated it because it sucked

I suppose thats what all gamers want these days.

Although I also do want to see Honk's teeth

it wasn't great, even if it was a new IP, it would've just been a forgettable, mediocre game, unique, but forgettable.

Here you go, you degenerate

Has there ever been a bigger fuck you moment in a game?

Attached: nuts and bolts.jpg (850x477, 213K)

I want to give her my cock

I tried the game about two months ago and instantly uninstalled after that

I might try it again sometime Idk

The menus and dialogue text all use fucking comic sans.

What were they thinking?

Attached: 350943-banjo-kazooie-nuts-bolts-xbox.jpg (848x480, 91K)

Who cares?

Nah, I had a lot of fun with it.

the game was patchworked together in the span of like a year with leftover assets from two different failed projects (banjo X and unnamed cart building game).

I played it for the first time last month.

building carts is fun but the worlds and gameplay are both a hot mess. a significant portion of the missions can be cheesed effortlessly, the boat-plane-car will carry you through 90% of the game. there was a point where I just flew in a circle around the track because there are ZERO part limitation challenges. gotta race around a track with obstacles? just use a fucking PLANE and finish with 20 minutes left on the clock, who cares.

but she's my wife user...

Banjo... easy on the pizza

The problem wasnt that it was a bad game, it's that it wasnt the game they originally promised and advertised. Imagine having a decent sized fanbase waiting years for a sequel to your game only to promise them exactly that but give them something completely different. It shouldn't have been a banjo game.

Please don't bully Honk or Honk's husband

god, i wish they had finished that car builder, if they had the chance to focus their efforts on making a new IP instead of shoe-horning in B&K so that microsoft could hold on to the rights, it might have been a decent game, another cult hit.

Thanks, kind user
