What's your experience with MMOs?

Not a twitter screencap or bitching about other people liking DMCV. Not even a Smash DLC thread. This is not a site for OC, comedy, or video games.

MMOs are a nice side game to play when you don't feel like playing something difficult. You can grind and work towards goals while watching a movie or show. Doing serious end game content is for fags, memorize a shitty pattern and hope the rest of your team does too. They used to be a nice place to make friends and hang out but because of WoW every company streamlined the experience so you're only ever friends with people in your guild. Fuck you WoW and fuck you EA.

It is drama waiting to happen. Just don't bother with MMOs. You'll never find that good group/guild that doesn't fucking die because of weak willed faggots that can't fuck it up.

I played Runescape and it was alright I guess.

I try to avoid the whole genre of MMOs though because I know the grinding will successfully hook me in and chew up years of my time even if I don't find it fun, since it's happened to me in other vidya.

You tell me why the MMO genre is dead, it isn't rocket science. A social experience with no social experience isn't anything at all. Ironically the most popualted genre feels the most lonely. That's my experience, grinding by myself off in a solo instance while a bunch of """human""" players show up occasionally and refuse to communicate on any level, not even cringy emotes.

Her dodge might not be too great, but that's hardly an issue when everything bounces off of her. Bet she can increase her Natural Def with plenty of spells, too.

True that. MMOs should be designed to encourage social interaction but they do exactly the opposite

Either bounce immediately when the beginning areas turn out to be boring, with nobody talking and the writing is absolutely terrible.

Or get into it for a couple of weeks and burn myself out when the sheer futility of it all sets in.

That'll mean the auction house will be full of them, she can get plenty then. Her character model is getting a little glitchy, though! Must be from all of the HP.

Much more fun back then when the community was different and people weren't afraid of talking to each other and wikis didn't have everything. Not worth getting into now
