how did one small mediocre franchise create a gold mine for autism?
How did one small mediocre franchise create a gold mine for autism?
Real answer, better designed Mickey Mouse
Meme answer, all platformers are shit no matter what and mascots were a mistake, all of them.
Blame the SatAm cartoon.
Every time a children's show has lore, bloated manbabies latch onto it in minutes, especially if the characters are cutesy (see: ponyfuckers). Because of SatAm and the comics, the Sonic fanbase had a decent following of creepy grown weirdos in the 90s, and when the games gained more edge in the 2000s, it only got worse.
>how did one small mediocre franchise create a gold mine for autism?
you seem to be forgetting how well those 4 four mediocre genesis games sold
your grasp of just how important money must be not be very strong. money gives you the ability to make even more money
My favorite Sonic is the Master System one.
Oh boy another "Sonic was never good" thread
you knew exactly what you were doing with this thread. it's only a matter of time before someone comes in and debates whether or not the original sonic games were really mediocre.
the cartoons, comics and adventure 2. sonic autism was nonexistent or heavily contained before those
Not a debate. Original sonic quadrilogy and adventure games are good. Only relatively mediocre games from that era are CD and Chaotix. CD mostly because of wonky time travel business and dogshit spindash and Chaotix because rubber band. Fix those two things and they're fine though.
My kid self fucking loved Sonic, and adventure 2 took it to another level. I'll never be able to explain why he was so appealing though, maybe it's the design or something about going fast. I was just obsessed as autists were, but I was like 12.
Sonic's a very large franchise, both in quantity and legacy.
I feel like I’ve seen this exact post before. This weird dream again, déjà vu!
lore so complicated only obsessive compulsive people could keep track and autism's attraction to spinning objects
MGS, you mean? I honestly don't know.
Which one? There are three, and two of them are among the absolute best the franchise has to offer. Pic rebloodylated.
>dogshit spindash
explain. unless you mean the infinity dash which doesn't have much reason to exist it is cool to watch
Saddest game in the franchise
Sonic 3&K is really one game and was developed as such (for the most part), so unless you're referencing something else its the original Sonic trilogy. Other than that, this is the correct opinion.
Original CD's spindash sucked. It has a shitty animation, takes forever to charge up and is just slower than the super peel out
Pretty much this, having a major release on a Nintendo console didn't helped at all too since Nintendo fans are more autistic than people on Sony/PC/Xbox, specially gamecube era Nintendo fans (meleefags, Wind Wakerfags, Primefags, Paper Mario, all those bitter autistic assholes)
Golden-ratio animu character designs (or western furry, in some cases), general rebellious attitude, vibrant colors and eventually ow the edge. Simple as that.
Autistic people have a tendency to like fast things.
There's also a ton of headroom for autistic headcanons
combination of an appealing, colorful character, colorful stages and graphics, SPEED, snarky catch phrases, and frantic high-pitch music. Autists love all that shit when it's all in one package and presented in a way that stimulates their 'tism.
you sound like a bitter faggot
So why did CD get a 93 on metacritic when Taxman remastered it?
I personally just think nothing with this series currently or franchises like it are bad, but humanity just is. Literally everything that's "hated", like Pokemon , pre BotW Zelda, pre Odyssey Mario and basically, whatever isn't "doing what the series should be doing", artists reee like gremlins. I honestly think are parents and forefathers were right, games should have been made illegal past 18 and your should have been forced to like sports or some shit.
I think Sonic attracted a certain kind of player that not only wanted to be skilled at the game but also look "cool" doing it which is why it appeals so much to black people and white autists it's the fighting game of platformers where trying to look cool with it takes such an ungodly amount of playtime that you have to be an autist to do it.
>and adventure
nope
Taxman's version fixed a lot of issues the game had.
Other than eliminating slowdown, adding widescreen support, and having tails as an unlockable character it is LITERALLY the exact same game. Side note, I think tails is far better suited to CD's level design than sonic is.
All of those are clearly improvements though. And it also optionally fixes the problem has with the spindash.
Alright, but it's essentially the same game.
>adventure games
literally only 1/3rd of both of those games were good at best.
