Hardest Boss of All Time?

This guy is harder than anyone I fought in Dark Souls or Bloodborne. I can’t figure out how to use Blade Mode to destroy the meteor he throws.

He's saying to aim your slashes by aiming the right stick and flicking it.
It gets harder because only the first fuel cell refills for the second, and each subsequent, cut, you only get all of them on the first chunk of rubble.
The difficulty also determines how long each FC lasts in true blade mode, IIRC Easy is about 12 seconds per bar, Rev is about 2 seconds, assuming you're using the black body and have no energy upgrades.

If you're playing on PC, you can enter customization and buy the White body for 10k BP, then equip the 10 repair nanopastes it gives you.

I want to understand the mechanic—that has NEVER been used the whole game.

It's not your camera, hold the right stick diagonally to the top right and let it flick back to center and you'll instantly do a diagonal cut, hold it directly to the left and let it go you'll instantly do a horizontal cut. That's how you're supposed to cut in this game, cutting otherwise is slower and less precise.

yeah blade mode was poorly explained, I didn't realize until after the game was over that you rotate and then release. I was just flicking and wondering why it only worked sometimes, just assumed the game was broken

I always move the rotation of the blade to left stick and just use face buttons for the slash. I found rotating and flicking with the right stick caused me to miss a lot.
