I heard everything is brutally expensive in Canada and video game tax is higher than ever

Are canadians actually playing games?

We pirate -sip- fuck Trudeau, fuck tranny discord and fuck jannys

I was going to buy a physical copy of DMC5 the other day while I was out shopping, but with tax it would have been just about $90.

I'm fine waiting.

Video game tax? There is only sales tax. Here in Ontario its 13%. Games generally sell for 79.99

90 Canadian dollars for a fucking game + 40% income tax
how can canadians survive with so little money?

we have a higher minimum wage and more social programs

Canada is a myth. There is nothing north of the border but bears and Santa, and the bears are the friendlier of the two.

With equally little happiness.

How much is the minimum wage?
20k/year?

>Have to buy into social programs since you lose all your money to fund social programs
Sounds literally epic.

>higher minimum wage
Not necessarily

correct if I'm wrong but: 30k year + Provincial ontario tax (10%) + federal income tax (15) = 25%
30k - 25% = ~23k/year. How can one survive with 23k a year considering every item you purchase there is some 11% VAT?

you don't buy into it it's provided for you, in general i think the federal government mismanages the budget but something i can't personally criticize is what you get out of it: vital heathcare is free and higher education isn't as expensive as it could be
the lowest minimum wage in canada is 11 in nova scotia, compared to america which has a universal 7.50

We play them, we just don't buy them.

>tfw three incomes and still can't afford shit

>vital heathcare is free
It's also shit. If you actually want decent medical care you go to the states, because you ain't getting it here.

>not setting your steam country to Russia and paying $30 for new releases.

Why does he always get two people in a group to take pictures, one on each side? There is another photo where he does it with some cosplayers, but I won't post here because it summons the autist.

I heard that free health care in canada is like this
>Hi I'd like to make an appointment
>Sure. We have a 5 month waiting list but don't worry you might get to see the doctor in 3 months since many patients are dying waiting
How is the logic behind this? wouldn't be better if you could pay the doctor with cash instead of giving the cash in advance to the government?

leaf here
just nuke us already

>Higher minimum wage
And higher costs of living

I make decent money and rent (no utilities/internet/phone) still take over 30% of my income. Actual mortgages are even more insane since a 2 br condo is worth 350k to start here. And that isn't even Vancouver!

Canadians are playing themselves

Soon

Attached: Meanwhile in Toronto Canada.jpg (822x617, 220K)

that isn't true, me and members of my family have gotten critical treatments and surgeries that would have been much more expensive in the States.

>a 2 br condo is worth 350k to start here
You could pretend you are a muslim and get an apartment for free
I know many people that pretend to follow mohammed in order to get housing for free

I buy $80 triple A games once a year. I pirate the rest.

Don't forget that our high immigration rates means that hospitals are so fucking filled that you get scandals like a bunch of old people being left in the fucking hallway.

>tfw you'll never own a house or land

You get what you pay for, hope you were one of the lucky ones.

Always

>the lowest minimum wage in canada is 11 in nova scotia, compared to america which has a universal 7.50
And the US dollar is also worth 25% more than ours, plus things are more expensive here

Really depends on the area and procedures. I'd say the worst part about free healthcare in terms of waiting is honestly just going to ERs. It's filled to the brim with retards taking their kid with a cough to the god damn ER.

I seriously watched a family wait in the ER for 45 minutes AFTER the kid was checked out (and was perfectly fine) just to get half a popsicle.

A fucking head of cauliflower is 6 goddamn bucks here.

A fucking HEAD.

If you go to the city hall and say
>Hi. I suffer from depression and I can't work
Will they give you neetbux? If not what's the point of taxing 20%+ from the middle class?

Trudeau needs his wheelchairs.

It's $5 for a head of lettuce here and by the time the "fresh" ones are put out I swear they're half brown.

I'm so severely ill its causing me to flunk out of uni. Waited 3 years and counting for a test. Can confirm long wait times. I would definitely prefer a pay system.

It's basically a lie spread by people wanting to privatize healthcare. I've personally never had to wait more than a week to get an appointment, and I go to the doctor's regularly.
>How is the logic behind this? wouldn't be better if you could pay the doctor with cash instead of giving the cash in advance to the government?
We have a mixed system, if you want to pay the doctor directly, you can go to the private system, but it'll be far more expensive for you.

I only buy a game now if it's really cheap on sale, or if I really really want it new. Thankfully, the last two games I really wanted were 32 bucks on amazon prime (crash remake, spyro remake), while every other new game is 80 bucks plus tax. Got Resident Evil 2 new for birthday and Mario Odysse (still 80 bucks. Fuck nintendo. Why is NSMBu from 20 fucking 12 still 80 bucks?)

Attached: castreau.png (830x6480, 3.84M)

Neetbux for a disabled person is about 12500 a year. Its not enough to live most places in canada

Then why don't you pay? You know you can do that

I can see why gardening and hunting is making a comeback in this country. Wonder if we're doomed to go the route of other socialist shitholes.

>It's basically a lie spread by people wanting to privatize healthcare.
You must live in a small place with lots of doctors.

>I would definitely prefer a pay system
You technically already have a pay system, my dude. Go to a private clinic, you'll get your results in under 24 hours.

Prices from No Frills, a discount supermarket.

Attached: veg1.jpg (865x761, 106K)

no, thats how surgery is. It could take up to 3 years while you die halfway through.
It funds the invaders to live for free.

That’s $67 usd, which is only a few dollars more than what games here cost after tax.

Attached: veg2.jpg (850x829, 112K)

>if you want to pay the doctor directly, you can go to the private system
ok but you already paid for the "free" one with your income tax?

>You must live in a small place with lots of doctors.
I live in Canada's second largest city.

Depends on the province. Alberta being the one that pays the most.

What's wrong with leaf people

You paid extra to get your results faster than people who are not willing to pay, not to get your results.

>what's wrong with the west in general
FTFY

12k

Games are 80 CAD usually which is bullshit but not much worse than the US and better than what Australia has to deal with
I have my own income so spending 80 dollars once and a while isn't a big deal at all
a larger % of people in Canada play video games than in the US/Europe as well

Under federal law, private clinics are not legally allowed to provide services covered by the Canada Health Act. While some do offer services despite the law I dont live near toronto or any big city so theres no private stuff here.

No no I'm saying: If you already pay for health care (income tax) why do you have to wait for an appointment?

You get tax rebates on what you spend on healthcare, you fucking moron

>Meanwhile in Amerikkka, I can get an organic giant cauliflower head for $3.99, 30 corn tortillas for $1.30, manager's special on a marked down 2lbs ground beef for $2.50, and all the limes I can dream of

>more social programs
Because of the disgusting amount of taxes we have
>higher minimum wage
Not when you adjust
>US is 7.50
US is 10, or at least most states.

nofrills.ca/Food/Meat-&-Seafood/Beef-&-Veal/Stew,-Cubes-&-Strips/Stewing-Beef,-Boneless/p/20357645_KG

is this expensive or cheap to canadian standard?
I find a little expensive but can't say 100%

Because other people, the vast majority of whom already pay income tax, are already waiting for the same treatment as you are.
If it's not urgent, wait a week or two, you'll get your appointment.

Fun fact: in Hawaii a gallon of milk can sometimes cost you +$10 during some points of the year while pineapples are dirt cheap year round. People joke and say it's because they only have 1 cow

Minimum wage is a band aid that doesn't actually solve the issue of growing costs in a stagnating market and just leads to more inflation.

It was all working so well until outsourcing was the norm.

Too many bears, really.
Here I am, trying to look at the tundra and all the polar bears are in the way

Luckily I'm jaded enough that I only buy 1-3 new releases in a year, sales get down to around what America gets just a few dollars more so I can get older games that I am interested in for cheap.

Attached: 1542751585814.png (1228x1236, 793K)

They're a lot more degenerate than stereotypes would have you believe.

Attached: meanwhile in canada.jpg (1200x674, 136K)

Im from quebec and everything is shit from banking to hospital and lets not forget cheap ass roads and endless construction with wave of unwanted and untrained immigrants .A average grocery for 1 person for 1 person is 100 $ .filling a tank of gas is 70 on a civic .We are tax twice and everybody under 30 $ a hour have problem paying their bills.

Attached: Go to class, see this, what do.jpg (3306x934, 224K)

There is no actual snow. Just a sea of sleeping polar bears.

Mostly eastern Canada.

Western Canada is pretty conservative, despite shit like Vancouver.

>We are tax twice and everybody under 30 $ a hour have problem paying their bills.
That's a nightmare. Most people I know make 18 bucks/hour in Toronto

thats mostly because Quebec has always been a mini third world country

Who the fuck measures the minimum wage by yearly income? It's $14 an hour in Ontario and I think it's going up soon too

It's funny because the shit like this is what is making younger people more conservative.

also making almost 50 k cant even afford a house basic housing is over 350 k.

>minimum wage increases to 15 in Alberta
>I've always made at least twice as much as minimum wage for doing the same job
>inflation out the ass
>wage goes back to 15
>minimum wage increases to 15
>Making less than tim horton's employees for the first time in my life.
>had to move back in with mommy
I hate this fucking country. Are there any jobs available in wyoming?

Its basic economics at this point, but McDonalds workers want $15 dollars an hour without understanding what that entails. That being said I wouldnt trust companies to always pay fairly.

Leave Frankie alone he never hurt anybody

if by eastern you mean ontario than yes

>TFW Australian and new release games have been about $40 US recently
Feels good man. Amazon Au is creating a lot of competition.

>Who the fuck measures the minimum wage by yearly income?
it's to get an idea about how much you are paying in income tax since people who make as low as 20k are required to pay federal & provincial tax

Its so shity here around montreal that everyone with money as fled to the country side .

I went to Quebec once. It was a shitty place with nowhere to park and too many fucking"french" (read: brown people speaking french) people. Nice architecture though, and poutine was shit. What a horrible place.

Don't come live here unless you're willing to fully convert from Canadian and socialist brainwashing you fucking leaf

It would be much MUCH worse without Alberta's free money. FUCK Quebec. Nuke them. We're broke, and yet you still get our free money and have far better programs for your people.

Attached: equalization payments.png (1024x579, 492K)

And Quebec. Quebec is a third world shit hole where all these problems grow from.

The farther you get from Quebec the better shit is. Until you hit Vancouver, but that's a chinese satellite.

>454782109
>can't get his weekly groceries for less than 100$
Either you're feeding a family of five, or you should cut down on the expensive Soilent bottles you fill your grocery cart with.

I live on the Canadian border and I see plenty of your citizens coming over here to get certain medical procedures taken care of.

Thats just the start small suburb like longueuil , brossard and greenfield park are poor and high police state .

Ottawa is nice. Friendly people and the french are not degenerate but it's fucking expensive

>albertan
>socialist
No, just the university students.
Get your ignorant head out of your ass.

Nova Scotian here.
I literally steal food.
This place sucks.

They're not even going to localize and translate games for Canada anymore at this rate

I live in Arizona and your elderly love to come here during the fall and winter and take up all kinds of medical benefits.

I hear the winters are BRUTAL in Ottawa and heating costs will be high. Guess I'll visit some day in Spring/Summer

Get a better job, you bum. Anyone with a safe, productive job supports higher minimum wage, as it supports growth. If you got cut, you were overpaid/expendable to begin with.
