The funny thing about them is that when you remove them from the role of being the protagonist, they’re nowhere near as bad. Kamui’s not exactly a strong character in general, but their SSB, FEH, and FEW incarnations aren’t nearly as horrible.

I agree completely. I’m not really one to complain about character inclusions in SSB, but Kamui’s genuinely the first time I was upset. It’s not necessarily Kamui themselves, I just feel like it was unnecessary to let FE14 have the advertisement slot over another game.

I agree with these anons. I don't mind having My Units. Gameplay-wise it's awesome to have a unit that you can freely customize the class, stats, and even appearance of. But they really should take a backseat in the story. It sucks that Byleth will be another Kamui in that regard.
