I bought PS3 version on release day played for one hour dropped it. Indiegogo campaign comes around, and I decide to support it with some cash. Get PC version from this play for one hour dropped it. I honestly like the characters and world of Skullgirls, but fighting games just don't hold my interest in the long run. I also unironically believe that Skullgirls would be better as beat em up like final fight/streets of rage or something.

Check "looking_for_games" during the afternoon and such, people will post lobbies and they'll just be scrubs, occasional mid level player who will give advice. As far as discord servers go it seems relatively good, feel free to ask people about help and such and you'll be directed to resources or users who may specialize in the character you're interested in.

I believe some people there own the ps4 version but it is generally played using the steam version since it's more convenient.
While not beginner focused like that discord there does exist a discord for people looking specifically to play on ps4 so maybe try this one maybe. I haven't used it myself so not sure what to expect.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter. People make top 8 with literally every character, the upside of the small roster is amazing balance where, while not perfect, every character is genuinely viable and will not hold you back. I can tell you for certain I see way more Painwheels make top 8 then Squiglies, she seems the least common there and even then I see her a couple times still.

No problem. Honestly it has a relatively active scene, all things considered. Basically any fighting game now beside stuff like SFV and T7 require use of discord. It's an unfortunate aspect of a genre like fighting games.
