The new Let's Go games are the first time she's ever been given an actual name in the games. In them, she is called Green. She is also called Green in the manga.
The only game source that calls her "Leaf" is the coding of FR/LG, but that same source calls the rival "Terry". It's not worth adhering to.

"Green" seems to be designed so she can be recognized as both the FRLG protagonist and the cut Gen 1 girl.
All three are depicted with Squirtle as their starter.
Kris and Lyra are an entirely different case. Takao Unno (HGSS art director) claims Lyra is a new character made from scratch.
