But by the year SuMo dropped, Incineroar would have had received his finalized named. Sakurai even talked about getting reference sheets by TPC to use in making his choice and he didn't bring up Incineroar and Decidueye not having a finalized name. The only time a Pokemon doesn't have a finalized name is super early into development, like with Greninja. Smash 4 started development around the same time XY did and Sakurai remarked that they only had concept art of Greninja and no finalized name. This wouldn't be the case for a hypothetical Gen 8 Pokemon rep since it's so close to release.
