As a multiplayer-focused module developer, NWN1. NWN2's multiplayer was so buggy for so long that people just stopped trying it. They eventually added a number of nice new features and fixed the bugs, but by then it was too late. Most players decided to continue playing NWN1 online while NWN2 had about 1/10th the server and player numbers.

Which module? I've been modding NWN1 recently because I could use a sense of adventure.
