This stuck out to me. It's almost like they invented aloha forms just to add dark types to Kanto, in case they needed to revisit it one day, which they did in Go and included them as trades. I doubt they saw that far ahead for Go specifically, but I do bet they were looking to add dark types to Kanto in general.
