it's cool when done right like in nier automata

Fuck off, Todd

Absolutely despise it when a game does this, more often then not the game just feels like it's overstaying its welcome.

mgsv. Destroying sahelanthropus should’ve been it. Would’ve been a good ending

Tales of Vesperia its too long for its own good

>other potential love interest comments on your inferior taste

>waifus have different detailed underwear

>beat the final boss
>bittersweet ending but they could live happily ever after after all that
>except the MC gets killed at the last fucking second in the most brutal and sudden way by a former ally and the game just ends on that
>Trophy obtained: "Good Ending"
>turns out there's a "Bad Ending" that adds like two more chapters and is the real ending

>game is marketed as having a story about taking on a classic villain
>defeat the villain, game ends and goes to credits
>BIGGER VILLAIN shows up and literally rips through the credits and laughs in your face
>that was just the first third of the game

MGS5 is weird for me.
It seems so unfinished yet I still played the shit out of it enough to 100% it.
In a slightly different timeline it would be my favorite game.

I feel Abyss did OP's trope right by faking you out with a satisfying enough conclusion and then following it up with the real big climax while Vesperia went too far in earlier on and the fake-out climax feels much bigger and more dramatic than the real one later.

>final boss is your sister

>final boss is your genderbent self
>you can fuck them

>Dragon Quest 11

>credits roll
>Save Game?

This was the first game that did that for me.

I got nothing, tell me spookmeister.

what game

Lunar: Eternal Blue

>game allows you to bang the evil girl and turn her good

Attached: big smile.jpg (1024x768, 175K)

Death Mark's pretty good, yeah.

That was Okami for me. Thought it felt awfully short but then it kept going.

Okami. Except you're not even halfway through, that was just the first level.

Name three games.

>Game uses a fictional language in it’s music
>First playthrough of the game ends in a pretty straightforward bittersweet but hopeful way.
>Game urges you to do another run.
>This time midway through the game the plot goes off the fucking rails, culminating in the main character dying and you taking control of her sidekick and implied love interest.
>During his travels shit just keeps getting worse as more of his friends die and he discovers forbidden knowledge essentially revealing that everything the heroes had ever done was completely worthless.
>As he climbs up the final dungeon his mind is slowly fraying from the emotional suffering he’s enduring and the final dungeon theme gets more intense and corrupted as his sanity is methodically destroyed.
>For just a split second the chorus of the song becomes english and asks DID YOU LOOOOOVE HEEERRR? before breaking back into the fictional language.
>By the end he’s so utterly broken that he’s nothing more than a cackling madman who wants to destroy the world not because he agrees with the villain but because he wants the pain to stop.

>final boss is you from the future

>reach what feels like about half way through
>game ends

Attached: 2292tw2_front_pegi.jpg (1563x2221, 883K)

what game?

He made it up.

I dont know, I like its shorter length. Allows you to easily replay it with the other choice. They have put in a lot of exclusive content

if you look up how long the game takes to beat before playing it then you're ruining your experience

Red > White

>game has nearly identical waifus with tweaks to make sure everyone has their own version they prefer

Attached: 1480847052078.jpg (1280x720, 118K)

Chaika is love, Chaika is life.
Her eyebrows give me boner at first sight.

Chaika on the front page!

I played okami just the other day, I always heard about this meme of the game being long then when you think it's over it keeps going. You people mean killing Orochi? That was at most 5 hours, less if you rush it.
To be honest the game tanked in quality after that part, shame because it was really fun until then, I didn't care about the queen and the sea dragon and the (which drag forever), then the last part of the game (northern land) felt rushed as fuck in comparison.

Actually no
At least not this time

That's not what happens at all.

Name several games

Every tales feels the same

>Game allows you to bang the good girl and turn her evil

Attached: 68670560.jpg (184x184, 7K)

>Game also allows you to bang the good girl and turn her evil.

One of the few good things about Tortanic

KI:U is such a beast of an experience

>game has multiple paths

>entire game is about muh destiny
>you get the true ending by actually reading the lore side material so you know who to pick to fight which boss during the finale

Just tell me what game you described then.

Corrupting Jaesa is the only time I've got an erection from a video game

>>the first one is the best
Lame

chaika a shit

>game has multiple endings
>endings locked behind extremely tedious tasks like endlessly grinding upgrades or 100%ing a game with time limited side quests

Attached: 1523579264310.jpg (640x430, 57K)

>final boss is some unrelated monster no one had ever mentioned prior to the final fight

honestly fuck jrpgs

True. But then I was just thinking about it and now I'm kinda nostalgic for my childhood and games like this haha it's a good thing because my feefees

Please don't do me a mischief

>2019
>Chaika is still a popular meme waifu

Name 4 (ten) games

Attached: 1532074016670.jpg (499x481, 70K)

Drakengard 1 is ridiculously easy to 100%, as long as you can stomach stopmping the necessary missions again with OP gear and stats. I didn't need to redo but one flying mission to get all the weapons. Frankly I'm finding something like Forza Horizon 2 more dull to 100%.

I seem to recall maxing the weapons to be an incredibly long and dull process, and required for the final ending.

It would be if it was required, but it isn't. Simply having all the weapons is enough.

was it 2 that you needed to max them all then? I thought one of them required that. though I guess the hardest part about 2 is really just playing the fucking game, god it was terrible

Okami droped the ball when decided all demons are Ayy Lmaos

The first Xenoblade did this like three times before the actual end of the game.

Attached: 1552669175776.png (609x424, 350K)

first time I was playing, by egil I was just like, "surely this must be the end now, this is a modern RPG, these don't last this long, maybe they just ditched the zanza storyline due to scope bloat"

>stage is called Final Battle
>MC sacrifices himself in the end
>has an emotional farewell with the party and then dies
>real final boss shows up
