I don't know man, back then unlocking a new effect or unlocking a random zombie behind a police station was cool enough, evn know Odyssey tried a cool new unlock but it only made me feel bad because it wasn't the whole deal.

It was definitely the experience that I remember more fondly. I know you're bring le ironic but that dopamine rush is the prevailing philosophy in a lot of modern games.

The moat would be filled back up and the dinosaur would be out there and you could ride it.

Only thing i can figure is that they couldn't assed with fixing bugs it would cause in the overworld (like entering doors and such).
