If I ran an MC server here's how it'd go.

Safe zone /spawn starting area. Very "small town" like, a few item shops so spergs can spend all day "farming currency" (aka duping like a mad man to have a gorillion sheckles.) instead of having nothing to grind for.

The shop wouldn't feature every item in the game, just basic shit, maybe rare shit too I dunno. Don't want fags obsidianing the entire server up.

The spawn would have a trade hub for players, a "bank" to store shit (Or just an enderchest.)

Spawn would be a safe zone. Can't build, can't break, tnt / splosions / mobs / etc do nothing. Outside the safety border would be PvP flagged / unsafe, but you still can't build / break for a bit. Maybe after 5-6 seconds of sprinting from the pvp zone you hit the wilderness, where anything can be broken / destroyed / mined as normal.

Spawn would NOT be an island or near an ocean. (to prevent guardians from mining fatigue.)

Modified factions would be in place. Modified so that when you make your /home you have a certain radius of protection and that's it. More "members" do not increase said radius, and other faction bases cannot be built nearby to prevent zerg guilds chaining protections.

To raid player bases you have to either kill them a bunch which lowers their power to naturally break their shit or use TNT cannons / creepers / tnt minecarts / etc to destroy. This means an obsidian base with water shielding will take far longer to raid than a dirt hut.

Item shops also allow players bare necessities for PvP as well as base building. No more spending hours looking for cows for leather. Also allows people to do stupid PvP shit like buy a ton of wolf eggs, invisible pots on the wolves, then go PvPing with hundreds of invisible doggo's. People would have impressive auto-farms in place to sell items. People would have a reason to keep gold other than god apples, etc. People would be able to restart a base after being raided. People would have easier access to elytra.

Edit level.dat with NBTExplorer. Expand the "Player" tag and change the value of playerGameType from 0 to 1. Then save the file.

also if you want to afterwards open the server to lan in the options and turn allow cheats on. then do '/gamerule keepInventory true' and you'll never lose your items on death again

It's not a whitelist server. There's zero reason for you to get banned and there isn't a bot that automates bans or kicks. Server actually had around 200 folks playing earlier. If you're going to samefag to still your server at least make it believable. Not like it's better or worse anyways. It's literally just another option.

Literally only two admins were on today and one of them was spawning pacified, giant white slimes and making them float but that's it.
