Emulation of 8 and 16 bit titles has reached the point where its straight up better than the actual hardware. Runahead and GPU sync has reduced input lag to CRT levels, shaders at 4k can replicate whatever sort of look you'd want with near perfect accuracy whether that's shadow mask, aperture grille sets or whatever, CPU overclocking removes all innate slowdown which makes a ton of SNES games feel like whole new experiences, or makes games like Kirbys Adventure on the NES as snappy as the GBA remake

You have to go through so much bullshit to get emulation working at 240p on a CRT without input delay or other crap. Original hardware is just plug and play with no issues.

If you can easily get rid of the input lag caused by modern displays then why do only emulators use it?
And how would a shader emulate the perfect motion quality of CRTs? How does it emulate the perfect black levels of a CRT and the color quality of a high-end CRT?

Does this thing only take original game cartridges or rely on owning an original sega CD and original sega CD games?

If so this thing will not sell, and if it does games will be way too expensive to find. You'll be paying current game prices at the least for some 25 year old rom you'd download and play for 10 minutes

Genesis emulation is NOT perfect, the sound still isn't as good as a va1 or mega amp.
Pc-engine emulation isn't amazing either, it's too obscure for enough people to give a fuck about it.
The only consoles that are 99% with original hardware are the nes and snes. Everything else is inferior to original hardware.

This isn't their first rodeo user. They already made the Analog NT and Analog Super NT. They both sold enough to continue.

It will play original genesis carts, or an everdrive. And as for the Sega CD, it has no copy protection so you can just burn discs.

Game cases after the Genesis were all downhill. Genesis had the best game cases.

Fuck these people how eat this shit marketing. If you're not literally making the original hardware, it's still emulation. You're still emulating the original hardware, the only difference is that you're using logic gates instead of programing in software. The quality of the emulation is still implementation dependent, and I much rather use a emulator implemented in software that is used by everyone and has active developers updating it at the comfort of my computer screen with save states and all of the advancements of modern emulation than some bootleg console that's never going to be improved or have any of the features I can expect from RetroArch and alike.
