I thought the sages between OoT and TP were different. Visually, at least. Lorewise too. You could see them in the cutscene after Arbiter's Ground.

The second is a joke/incorrect. The sages who attempt to execute Ganondorf in TP are the predecessors to those you see become sages in OOT, presumably he killed them all while Link was asleep in the adult timeline.
Unless they did retcon this further somewhere but that would be pants on head retarded. the sages in TP are all ghostly old men.

You've got that wrong.
TP is in the child timeline, and is after OoT. In the child timeline, no one from OoT became a sage. That only occurred in the adult timeline. That's why the sages in TP are different looking.

Currently, Hyrule Warriors does not have an official place in the timeline.
Unofficially, it's probably some point after the theoretical timeline convergence that obviously happened long before Breath of the Wild, which also has no official spot other than it's way in the far future.
