What's your favorite moment in BOTW?

There's a mine right outside of Zora's Domain in Akkala, with a large pillar with bombable rocks in the center. I found it before finishing Vah Ruta so it was eternally raining there, couldn't climb.
When I attached an Octo Balloon to a bomb, grabbed a Korok leaf to blow the thing over and that shit worked, I knew this game was special.
Probably Eventide Island.
That's what makes this game so one-of-a-kind. I feel like every time I have a "favorite moment" its usurped by another moment soon after.
The Great Plateau for sure. The survivalist aspect works well in such a small, isolated area.
best moment walking through a forest for the first time that lead to the beach village, I helped an NPC along the way and we walked there together, is still my favorite moment and what always comes to mind when I think of BOTW, game was still wonderful and mysterious
worst moment is how some blue lanterns dont stay lit and its impossible to lit them all
Naydra. Climbing the mountain just for the sake of exploring and being met with a giant dragon that you have to save from the malice was fucking rad. I was genuinely speechless for the entire encounter.
i really liked climbing that snowy mountain to spot a dragon for the first time.
Freeing Naydra of malice was a very memorable moment for me.
These. I'm not kidding when I say this is a contender for the greatest videogame moment of all time for me, after 20+ years. It's very similar to how I feel about Dark Soul's Ashen Lake, but on an even higher scale. Mt. Laynaru is in plain view for nearly the ENTIRE game, so it's completely up to you when you decide "Hey, I'm going to fulfill Todd's dream and climb that fucking mountain". So I stocked up on a couple of torches, some spicy food, my warm doublet, and set out.
The climb up itself is special. You can take the road and be ambushed by Lizalfos and frost chu chu, or climb up the side and be challenged by rough terrain. All the while, the closer you get to the summit, this theme gets louder and louder

Even better, Naydra's groans grow louder and louder. At first I thought it was the wind or something but by the time I was near the top I knew something was seriously wrong and was tense as hell.
Then bam, you go up over the edge, and you need to take several seconds to realize that's a fucking dragon wrapped around the mountain's summit. Say what you will about the 'fight', but I don't even really consider it a fight, more like a chase or an experience. Gliding back down the mountain that you just scaled in pursuit, shooting at this giant ass dragon, all in real time. Yes the reward is only an Ice Spear that breaks soon enough and a spirit orb, but I guess one of the reasons I love BOTW so much is that the reward for me was that entire overall moment with the mountain and Naydra and the pursuit. It still sticks with me.
And to top it off, it was something I chose to do. Nothing told me to go up that mountain and find Naydra. I strapped on my boots and decided to do it myself.
Great Plateau
the beginning, I think the great plateau is amazingly well done. it's a bite sized sampler dish of the rest of the game.
my biggest complaint with master mode is that it utterly ruins that segment of the game.
I love Kass!
Acknowledging and accepting the flaws of the games you like gives you room for individual growth, a refined taste in games, and a greater sense of appreciation for the things that are genuinely flawless, while being delusional and ignoring flaws leads to both individual stagnation and creator stagnation!

Basically any part with Sidon. Link should end up with Sidon.

nah, fuck you and your homosexual shitty game
Cheesing one of the retarded puzzles
Rude!
zora's domain was my favorite of the four. as much as we praise the game as nintendo's first open world success I think the best parts of the game are when it gets somewhat linear. zora's domain is an example of this. the rain keeps you within the play area (mostly) and you follow along this story path leading up to the discovering the zora town and then entering the divine beast.
gerudo town on the other hand is just literally a straight line from objective to objective since you;'re just walking through an open desert.
I think the Rito part had it the worst. Very short and there's hardly any character development for Teba. I wanted to see more of him.
Also, the flying divine beast is by far the shortest one.

>Playing on Cemu
>Have to spend over an hour on one of the shrines because it's a motion control one and I have to use a goddamn mouse to do it
>Figure out a way to completely cheese through it
Feels good man.
yeah i'm replaying the game right now and just did that one. I don't remember any of the puzzle's at all but you can skip like everything by just tilting the divine beast and gliding around.
if you have a ps4 controller that will work flawlessly, that's what i'm using
I imagine it's probably because every single thread gets made it's the same people shitting on the game. Not that the game is beyond criticism I think that there's many things that could be improved upon but most of the people who hate on it either didn't want to like it, or wanted zelda to stay with the same formula it has for decades.
Is it ever mentioned who Kass's wife and children are? I assumed his kids were the ones who sang the song that opened the shrine because they were so musically inclined.
Probably when I was climbing one of the Gerudo mountains and a dragon glides over the cliff above me. I had played just finished Great Plateau. it just got me really excited for the game
Best : Seeing Mipha and Riju for the first time
Worst : Not being able to find good Mipha and/or Riju porn
Do you guys like the game with or without the cel shading?
youtube.com
While it is pretty interesting to see what it's like without cell shading I still think the game looks way better with it on. Plus, I feel like games with a good artstyle age way better.
That looks like ass
Turning it off
I think everyone who went in blind to the dragons had a special moment upon first encounter.
I didn't know about any of them when I was walking down Lake Hylia's bridge at night and the music kicked in and Farosh came sliding up the side of the bridge.
That moment with the Eastern music and the gust of wind as I turned to look at him is ingrained in my memory. Great game.
>Replaces the fucking amazing Hateno Village music with Kakariko Village (OoT) theme
God why do people do this.
Finish all of Kass' quests and find out for yourself, user.
It's a very rewarding end to that sidequest line
I have completed all the shrine quests.
It's easier to look at without a doubt, but I'd have to see more to make a good judgement.
OOT's OST is just better
Fighting a guardian drone in one of the shrines that was way too strong for my current level so I had to spend an hour bombing it to death and doing a sliver of damage each time. Felt good when I did finally beat though.
It is, but Hateno Village music is max comfy. Let games have their own OST, don't reuse too much.
>That Koholint island trial
>Hearing the Kass family singing in Ruto village
A common complaint of BotW is that it feels souless compared to earlier Zelda games, but that part in Ruto village is one of the most soulful scenes in vydia.
I meant Rito
Fuck you OP
Game was AIDS and CANCER
You can just parry the beams with a sheild
The drones are very hard to kill that way. They sway back and forth a bit, so the reflected beam usually misses. They also tend to just run away after you damage them a bit.
