interesting opinion. did you try multiple weapons?
>10 minute long cutscenes full of ''woah bro look at this wacky cuhrazy action bro''
sort of agreed. it's really cutscene heavy for a relatively short game, however you can skip all of them

it's 5 bucks on steam right now but it looks so bland and boring
should I pick it up regardless?

Highway section is balls. Still better than DMCV though.

>but it looks so bland and boring

looks like no

2 was better.

Who actually owns the Bayonetta IP? Is it SEGA?

>QTEs
>Endless Space Harrier

>flawless

forgot about that

Cutscene QTEs will always be a sin. But otherwise yeah, pretty good stuff.

Bosses were pretty garbo and too many qte

>shit protagonist
Stopped reading there

TW101 is a better version of Bayonetta.

It's not flawless but it's arguably the best in its genre

I think we can stop pretending Bayoshitta was ever good since DMC5 is out.

Fuck off
Both series are good. Quit trying to start shit.

>QTEs

>climax difficulty is literally just pairing with Grace and Glory most of the time
Bayo 2 is so much better despite its toned down combat, because its just a much more solid game all around.

Everything outside of the core combat, the weapon selection, the character design, and the music was pretty flawed. Bayonetta at its core is a fantastic game but when it comes to Kamiya's faults as a director Bayonetta is the game where they are at their strongest and most blatant. The instant-death QTEs out of nowhere, the poorly-designed gimmick and platforming sections, some mediocre/bad bosses for the sake of being a setpiece (Jubileus is one of the worst-ever bosses in the entire sub-genre that Bayo/DMC/etc. occupy), and putting one of the better bosses in the game behind a horrible recreation of Afterburner that plays Space Harrier music for some reason despite Afterburner music being better (AND having a remix that plays on Route 666).

Bayo 1 is an 8.5/10 game, 9/10 if you're the kind of person that gets really deep into Dodge Offset on Nonstop Infinite Climax and has it all click for them. I'm sure OP has a well-structured argument against this.

I have a hard time choosing between 1 and 2. I feel like 2 had some major improvements, but at the same time, something felt a little off about the combat sometimes. I think it might have been the new weapons.

Genuine question, how was Bayo's 2 combat toned down compared to the first game? I keep hearing it but I didn't notice the difference.

>Implying the music isen't flawed as well
Can't say I'm a fan of the games version of Fly me to the moon and I got really sick of the song that plays during regular combat.

It's somewhat easier, the widow for witch time is bigger and works on everything, health picks up are more regular and umbra climax wrecks everything.

The problem was that while the original game was balanced around Offset and Torture Attacks with Witch Time as a crutch that the higher difficulties ween you off of, 2 has Witch Time take center stage. Enemies in 2 (except for the ones in the flashback to 1, funnily enough) are designed to be much harder to fight without Witch Time. Some enemies have near-unbreakable guards and/or cannot even be launched when outside of Witch Time. In Bayo 1, you had to use Offset to go with the flow and keep your strings up so you can get as many Wicked Weaves as possible. In 2, you just have to blitz the few weak enemies in a group before awkwardly shuffling around the big ones waiting for an attack to dodge or parry to get the Witch Time necessary to actually do damage to them; the flow is really broken up and changes really quickly rather than being smooth. Then there's Umbran Climax which just lets you break guards and launch enemies with tons of weaves just by hitting regular strings, and they invalidate Torture Attacks in terms of Magic use, especially since 2's Angel weapons are weaker than 1's (although the Demon weapons are useful). There's also some changes with 2's rating system which I'm not of the specifics on, but I believe it's something that's not compatible with the systems I described so you end up getting short of Platinum/Pure Platinum if you don't play really optimally.

It is a shame since 2's weapons are a lot more fun than 1's to me. I love Takemikazuchi, Alruna, Salamandra, and Chain Chomp.

Whats the deal with 3? Any news? Are 1 and 2 on the switch?

>Whats the deal with 3? Any news?
No news
>Are 1 and 2 on the switch?
Yes, they're even sold together

Haven't had anything, no, yes.

Do they run good on the Switch? I only played 1 back when it came out on xbox 360

1&2 are on Switch. It's the better version of 2, and the best version of 1 on consoles (PC almost certainly runs better but lacks the bit of bonus Nintendo content).

3 was likely put on the backburner. Hashimoto, the director of Bayo 2, left Platinum last month. That implies that he returned to that spot for 3 but something went wrong and they're reshuffling people on the project with his leave. Bayo 3 was announced in December 2017 and we have gotten zero new footage or trailers since the initial teaser. Personally, I'm more excited for Astral Chain (really cool ideas behind it) and Babylon's Fall (if only because it's probably directed by Saito) than Bayo 3 at the moment.

Yep, both run well in my experience.

The First playthrough is what Made me regret buying 1 and 2 in a bundle. .beeing interrupted every 3 minutes of gameplay by a fucking shitty cutscene is no fun at all. Also the little girl with glasses looks like a retard and her appearance makes me angry . I think i will never play bayonetta 2 now if its the same shitty formula

can't you skip cutscenes?

This is what a frawress game rooks rike

2's campaign is much better-paced than 1's and has a better overall story, but there are still some cutscenes here and there, and you may dislike Loki if you hate the little girl. While I think 2 is the worse game in the long run, it has a much better first impression. I can't blame anybody for liking 2 more if they only played the games once.

I dont know because i never do that for first playthrough. .After it dawned me about half way through the game the whole story and cutscenes are massive ass it was already too late.

Why was Bayonetta 2 so bad, bros?

When's the DMC crossover game happening?

There's literally posts in this thread that talk about why. I guess the only other thing to say is that they replaced Kamiya, who despite his faults is still a seasoned game designer, with Hashimoto, who had never directed a game or designed mechanics/levels before. He was the enemy design artist on 1. That does explain why 2 is full of great visual design though.

It already exists. Bayo & Dante (plus Nero & V) are in the SMT mobile gacha game. It could've been Project X Zone but Kamiya didn't let Bayo in because wanted to have Bayo & Dante meet on his terms (he later said he regretted that though).

that just sounds like DMC to me.

What about the counterattacks in the Jeane fight
And the Jeane fight not being it's own chapter so you have to go through the entire space harrier segment to redo it
And the turret segment

The rocket was fine
What was bad was it sharing a chapter with the final Jeane fight.

Oh, what a day!

I think it's Sega yeah.

The Wonderful 101 > DMC5 >= DMC3SE > Transformers Devastation > God Hand > DMC1 = DMC4SE = Bayonetta > Vanquish = Revengeance = Viewtiful Joe >= Bayonetta 2 > I'm too lazy to fill out the rest of the games that could go here >>> DMC2

I should play Ninja Gaiden.

Attached: 1542198740817.jpg (1073x967, 245K)

Sure, easily worth it at that price. Although if you have a wiiu or switch you are probably better off getting the 2 pack.

Focus on WT / Climax for almost all combat instead of being able to 'freestyle' (some bosses 100% require WT to be able to damage them). Climax also reduces the reason to use torture attacks.

Weapons are lacklustre and are not as robust as Bayo 1 weapons (whip in 1 can pull enemies to you or you can pull yourself to an enemy, swing enemies around, etc while the whip in 2 has one canned grab and slam into the ground attack).

The game is still good, but lacks the refinement and depth to the gameplay that the first had.

I'm sorry to hear about your shit taste user.

>flat ass
0/10

>but lacks the bit of bonus Nintendo content
Apparently the Jap dub for Bayo 1 is owned by Nintendo. I guess they just didn't see any reason to not let the PC release use it.

If you didn't like the kid in 1 you will fucking despise the kid in 2.

>Instakill QTE's
>Motorcycle level

Nope.

Why is Rodin so fucking strong anyway?

Route 666 was good you fags. Maybe slightly too long.
The real cancer is the turret segment

he's black

He was a high-ranking angel cast out from heaven who later gained some sort of demonic power. There's probably a more specific answer but I think it's mostly that he's fought the strongest in all the realms.

People are complaining about the missile section that's a shitty version of Afterburner with Space Harrier music, not Route 666. 666 at least has Afterburner music playing and still mostly follows the combat system of Bayonetta, just with movement on rails.

>hack and slash weeb game with lanky antagonist.
>give her a giant fucking mole
LMAO

>Dial-a-combo

I seriously can't find this shit fun. Much prefer dmc combat.

It's almost like the character was not designed as fapbait.

Oh did the poor baby touch the fire and lose his pure platinum?
Git gud.

>ridiculously over sexualized
>black latex
>I-I swear I dont masturbate to her guise!! I-I-I hate moles!!
Christ you're a fucking loser

Bayo was designed to be Kamiya's waifu.

Yes a 7ft tall lanky sadist lesbian is clearly meant to be fapbait for the otaku you fucking retard.

Put Durga on your feet and keep it on fire mode. You're welcome.

DMC4 (at least when playing as Nero):
>fewer stylish attacks and combos than bayo
>guns are worthless
>punishes you for exploring by using your total level time when calculating your score, instead of only using time spent in combat
>much less movement during combat
>jump to dodge is un-fucking-forgivable
>enemies die too quickly

etc. etc.

>fewer stylish attacks and combos than bayo
more =! good you moron
>guns are worthless
LOL what. charge shot is almost so powerful that people changed their control schemes so that they could constantly use it
>punishes you for exploring by using your total level time when calculating your score, instead of only using time spent in combat
That only happens on your first playthrough. getting an S on time afterwards is a pisstake but I'll still give you that one
>much less movement during combat
again. semantics, DMC is DMC it has its own playstyle
>jump to dodge is un-fucking-forgivable
oh fuck off you shitter
>enemies die too quickly
higher difficulties exist

Overall I can tell that you played 4 like once, maybe didn't even finish it. Whereas DMC games truly shine when you have mastered every single mechanic out there and become good enough to perfect every mission.
